[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.

One would think it more special, when considering the sentimental value. [ she says sincerely, dark eyes flitting over to cullen once more. ]

Are you certain you do not wish me to leave you? I would hate to have disrupted your time alone. [ look she feels really bad about that. ]

You're not intruding. [It's technically a public place, after all. And the company isn't bad at all.]

[invigorates]

Very well. [ she has little room to argue further. so instead she seems to relent, shoulders relaxing finally as she accepts her fate in... staying here on a quiet dock with a man who, so far as she's seen, is quite pleasant to speak with.

there's a few moments where she isn't certain what to say next, and silence befalls them until she settles on: ] I am curious to know more about your world, if you will indulge me. Certainly not all of it is like this, is it?

[He doesn't mind the silence, sensing she's a little... uncertain. So he lets her bring up the topic of conversation. It's not surprising what she chooses.]

How do you mean?

[invigorates]

Ah, what I mean is... [ she motions vaguely to the water, to the trees behind them, ] So quaint, so quiet and off the beaten-path. Do you have cities as well? Or only small villages? [ details, bro. ]

[serves]

We have both. My hometown is a small village, but we have larger cities, as well. Were you here for our last stop?

[fucking dirkwall........]

[invigorates]

Briefly, yes. Are your cities akin to that, by chance? [ she assumes that's what he's hinting at here. ]

[serves]

They are. Kirkwall, alarmingly so...

[They did that on purpose!!!]

[invigorates]

Kirkwall? [ never heard of it, tell her more. ] Were you... displeased by the similarities?

[serves]

I don't enjoy being toyed with like this. It's no mere coincidence that the place was so similar to the city I knew. For reactions, surely.

[invigorates]

You believe they created a likeness of your city, simply to toy with you? What purpose would upsetting you to any degree serve...? [ she furrows her brows, confused and mildly annoyed by the prospect. if they did it to him, surely they could do the same to anyone else... ]

Entertainment. Or so I'm told. [He'd be more okay with all the crazy things if not for that little tidbit.]

It would seem 'Atroma' and whomever is watching us has a strange definition of the word 'entertainment.' Most would call such things torment. [ kind of like nearly blowing up the fleet. ]

That's the irony of it all, isn't it? And currently, there's nothing we can do about it.

[He sighs, eyes drifting upwards. Surely whoever watched was watching now.]

Perhaps not yet. [ she says quietly, her own gaze drifting downward to the water. ] But surely we can do something - at least to ease our torment. [ should she have said that outloud?

she clears her throat, ] But not all that comes from this is bad, I find. I am able to meet people I would not have met otherwise - and I can see lands I would have never known existed. [ optimism! ]

And tumble into simulated lakes?

[SORRY his humor...]

[ THAT'S NOT FUNNY!!!!

she looks up at him, eyes wide. the lines across her cheeks suddenly glow intensely. ]

I -- N-No! [ she puffs her cheeks out. how old is she again? ] I assure you I am hardly so clumsy. It will not happen again.

[serves]

[Her version of blushing, maybe? Cullen has to look away, though it's obvious he's smiling, trying not to laugh.]

I should hope not. Especially not at a real lake.

[invigorates]

[ definitely. it gets even worse when she knows for a fact that he finds this amusing. ]

If it did, I would be more than capable of swimming to safety on my own. [ a beat, before she adds: ] Not that I am ungrateful for your assistance earlier, nor would I be if it happened again. But it's-- [ she's going to shut up now. ] Mmn.

[Ah, maybe that was too much. Cullen bows his head a little in apology.]

I'm sorry. I shouldn't tease.

[invigorates]

[ she fumbles at his apology, shakes her head and heaves out a sigh. ]

You do not need to apologize.

I won't tell anyone.

Much appreciated. [ the entire fleet doesn't need to know she just did something horribly stupid, even if the entire audience does. shh. ]

In any case, I believe I have taken up enough of your time.

[The tables are turned how does Cullen even function now... anyway, he gives her a polite bow.]

[ she returns the gesture, bowing at the waist. as she stands, she offers him a smile - cheeks still bright, but that will fade once she's out of the room, most likely. ]
