Waystation Mingle Log!
Who: GAME-WIDE MINGLE aka everyone
Broadcast: If you want
Action: The Stations!
When: From 04/05 through the month of April.
[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.
Make your own prompts, set up your own Virtual Realities, etc! For reference, the OOC post with info is over here!]

So this is all very elaborate. Does it have something to do with all those people who call you "Inquisitor"?
[He hadn't mentioned it before, never saw a point to, but all of this casts her in a very new (though not necessarily bad) light. It's just there to test the waters, to demonstrate that he's been paying attention while other people talk, and to see how she reacts to it.
Regardless, he knows the history of the Inquisition. He knows that, for all intents and purposes, it's something he should probably be wary of. But he isn't wary of her, and that takes precedence over whatever's been written in centuries old history books.]

That would be me. Inquisitor Jove Lavellan, at your service.
no subject
She is one. He could ask now, if he wanted, that's the impression he's getting from her response. She's an elf, a mage— he can only imagine that any new Inquisition under her guidance would have to be very special indeed, or she would have to be a very different person than who he's come to see her as.
The latter seems nonsensical. And the former hardly matters, in the grand scheme of things. To him, anyway.]
Is it all right if I still call you Jove? [Casually, as he glances back down to meet her gaze.] The rest of it's such a mouthful. Though I could be persuaded if it means I get to sit in your fancy chair for a few minutes.

[The throne is large and she's quite small, so Jove scoots to one side and pats the empty space beside her.]
The whole is a bit of a long story, but if you want to hear it you only have to ask.
[She won't mind telling him, honestly. It hadn't taken long for Jove to decide Anders was someone she wanted to help however she could and maybe, now that he knows what power she has, what resources are at her fingertips, he'll go from believing she can help him in some way and really understanding that her word can hold the weight to change his life.
She can be his shield, if she needs to be. She would happily be that for him because he deserves it, someone to fight for him and prove there's more to him than what happens in Kirkwall years and years from what and who he is now.]
no subject
When he finally does answer, his tone is still light, but there's something guarded and uncertain behind it.]
Would you mind terribly if I said I didn't want to hear it?
[It's— big, this future everyone talks about. Overwhelming. Like his life has already spiraled out and solidified, start to finish, but only in the memories of other people. The instinct to turn his face away so that he doesn't have to see the way fire climbs is strong, and not one he's ever been good at pushing down.
What good will it do, other than make everything that much more real and terrifying? She'd asked him weeks ago if he could learn what it was that made him do the things he did, learn how to avoid them, and he hasn't even been able to summon the courage to do that much, even with Hawke here.
He shifts in the seat.]
For now, anyway.
no subject
You shouldn't have to even ask me that, lethallin. You should know you don't have to push yourself into anything you don't want to do with me.
[She had hoped they were close enough for that to be common knowledge, but maybe it just needed to be made clear this once. It doesn't hurt to be sure he knows with no question, anyway. She could never fault him for being afraid to know more of the details of the future, not when it holds very little that's positive.]

Steffa is the same way. It had been an adjustment then, too.]
I suppose I should, shouldn't I? [He smiles at her sideways. He is grateful, even if he won't say it directly. It's easier to joke instead:] I think it may have been all the spikes on your chair. Very intimidating.
no subject
[It's not said with any real pride, but it's impossible to deny it's the truth. She's made some vicious decisions since taking her place on this throne and she can't say she regrets any of them.]
I do have a very Orlesian throne too, but all the golden breasts can be a little distracting for some.
no subject
[He throws one arm out dramatically in front of him, as if imagining said possibilities right in the hall in front of them.]
A whole platoon of soldiers has to spend the morning doing their drills while dancing a jig. "When did we get those orders?" they ask. You know when.
no subject
I tend to leave Cullen in charge of the soldiers, so any jigs would be entirely his doing. We do have a court jester who was, at one point, a Grand Duchess in Orlais. I hope that's a suitable replacement for dancing soldiers.
no subject
[He falls back against the backrest of the chair, sighing, as if finally content with the direction this conversation has gone in.]
Just a dream, I suppose. I definitely can't complain about embarrassing snooty Orlesians, either way.
no subject
Did you know a lot of snooty Orlesians?
no subject
[He pinches his nose to go along with the imitation he's about to do, which has the added benefit of making his affected Orlesian accent extra nasally.]
Zees whole country reeks of dog! One relieved himself on my leg, just now! 'ow unrefined. [And back to the familiar Fereldan roll:] And so forth. I'm sure I don't need to tell you.
[None of the Orlesian Grey Wardens were probably like this, but he's averaging the experiences here, all right.
And he might just be trying to make her laugh.]
