Waystation Mingle Log!
Who: GAME-WIDE MINGLE aka everyone
Broadcast: If you want
Action: The Stations!
When: From 04/05 through the month of April.
[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.
Make your own prompts, set up your own Virtual Realities, etc! For reference, the OOC post with info is over here!]

[Casually moving from his ow heartbreak.]
Where did you learn to play?
no subject
One of the monks taught me the piano when I was little. I liked music so much, I took up any instrument I could get my hands on.

Well, to be fair, my ability to understand spacial geometry and the truth depths of wizardry and spell casting suffered for my art. Much to my father's dismay.
[But it's a fond tone, so she probably had it easier than Manolo did when it came to choosing her own path. In a trade skill capacity, that is.]

You too, huh? Pappa hates- hated the whole music thing. Thought I was gonna end up a bum or something.
no subject
It's a noble position, but ultimately self-defeating. And aggravating, for all involved.

They want what they think is best for us. Pappa wanted me to be a matador, it's a big family tradition. Every single Sanchez has been one, as long as we can trace our line.
[He gives a soft shrug. ]
It doesn't work as well, when you don't want to hurt innocent animals.
no subject
What does a matador do? If you don't mind talking about it, of course.
no subject
[He puts the guitar down. He wants to make as big as divide between each life he can. ]
A matador has to fight bulls. We go into this big ring, and people watch us taunt it with a red cape. You have to be fast and agile. You have to let the bull get close enough when he charges to make it a risk to your life, without actually getting hit.
[He talks, but there's no animation to it. He's monotonous. As one would describe the intricacies of a menial, horrible job. Something they had to do, but had no love for. He recites it like a child being asked to recite an essay. Which it might as well be. These are the lessons his father has drilled into him since he can remember. ]
At the end, when the bull's exhausted, we're expected to kill the bull with a sword called an estoque. One quick stab. Right through the heart.

There are..."sports" like that where I come from. Extremely illegal. You're right to not want to be a part of that.
no subject
At least, when I get home, I can live my own life. I convinced Pappa where my heart belonged.

[Before it stopped mattering anyway.]
no subject
I understand.
[Because there's no sense in white lies to make him feel better. She's not nearly wise enough to pull of such things anyway. All she can do is just that, understand. Everyone has regrets.]
no subject
Ah well, what's done is done. Better to face what's ahead.
no subject
You know, I completely forgot to ask you your name.
no subject
[It's so nice to be in a place where the Sánchez name isn't famous for ANYTHING. No need to fear the shadows of his ancestors, here.]
