Waystation Mingle Log!

Who: GAME-WIDE MINGLE aka everyone
Broadcast: If you want
Action: The Stations!
When: From 04/05 through the month of April.

[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.

Make your own prompts, set up your own Virtual Realities, etc! For reference, the OOC post with info is over here!]

Beverly Crusher, on the Blue Fish!

[She considers the currently blank viewscreen at the front of the bridge.]

Would you like to see my planet... well, one of them?

Nice to meet'cha!

[He's always a little surprised how easy it is to just meet people, now that he doesn't have the shadow of the Organization hanging over him. There are a lot of interesting people in the Fleet, and he has yet to really be disappointed with anything he's learned from any of them.

[He grins then.]

You bet I would. That was the one good thing about my old job: travel perks. I got to see all kinds of new worlds.

It is exciting, isn't it, getting to explore? It's one of the best parts of my job as well.

I'll show you my home planet from orbit first. [She orders the computer to show them Caldos II on the viewscreen. The planet is about the same size as Earth, but with much more brown and green... the few oceans are small and far between.]

[Axel looks impressed when the planet comes up on the screen. It's hard to tell just how big it is, but it definitely looks bigger than most of the worlds he visited.]

They always look like marbles from far away. It's kind of amazing to think just how big they really are. Lots of forests, huh?

[She nods, smiling.] Forests and rolling hills and fields, mainly. A lot of lakes too. It makes up for the lack of oceans.

Sounds really nice. My home world was real small, and the town was in the middle of... I'm actually not even sure if it was really an ocean or not, I dunno that it was big enough. Kids weren't supposed to go outside the walls, though, so I didn't get to see much of it. I left when I was pretty young, but... I remember the trees and plants. There were just gardens everywhere. [He gives a bit of a grin.] We even had flowers in little window boxes--forget me nots.

[Beverly smiles at the description.]

It sounds like a place from a storybook.

I guess it did have kind of a storybook feel to it. There was a big castle, and a huge fountain courtyard behind it. Like big enough that when it froze over in the winter you could ice skate in the fountains. You weren't really supposed to, but we all did anyway. The castle guards yelled at us a lot. [Good times, good times.]

[She chuckles then sighs wistfully.] I don't even remember the last time I went ice skating...
