[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.

[He catches up to him in this time, smoothing down his his sleeve carefully with the other arm.]

Knowing so little of you, I didn't have much to go off of for an imagined scene. I'm simply blessed by your company. [Laying it on thick, but purposefully. He looks over, leaning a bit in as they walk. He's playful about it.] Though I didn't take you as the philosophical type.

Well, one thing you can be sure of is that I am always full of surprises.

[he says this with a little tilt of his head.]

Though I am, likewise, happy to hear that you've a functioning mind. And an openness. It's rare to find both in abundance.

Is that so? [His eyebrows raise, but he looks intrigued about it. Surprises. Sounds like fun to him.]

I shall be sure to include a functioning mind on my small, boastful list of traits. [He ducks his head a little, tapping his temple as he looks between Robin and the direction they're walking.]

I work as a merchant, so perhaps that's it. [He slows his steps just slightly, folding his arms behind his back.] What about yourself? What sort of work did you do?

Ah, a merchant...

[something about that makes him laugh. he matches pace with Oren, putting his hands into his pockets. momentarily reflecting on how funny it is that they've slipped into such a casual talk with one another.]

I do all sorts of work. A professional wanderer, you could say.

[He laughs almost like he's embarrassed, bringing a hand up to his own face. It stops just short of covering his mouth, hovering just an instant before it falls in the laughter.]

Do not say it in such a way that you mean to define my entire existence! It is one of many duties. [He laughs, playful. Having more fun than he'd even thought he would.]

Not just a wanderer, but professionally. I can't say I'm surprised by a title like that, Robin. Perhaps your continued surprises are elsewhere?

Oh, don't be mean.

[he reaches out to shove him in the arm. not very hard, of course. he's just playing.]

All right. I'm also a priest.

[He fakes a stumble at the shove, his laugh always peppering his words but never overwhelming.]

A priest? [Feigning disbelief (really, this seems more believable, or at least along the same lines), he stares as if picking Robin apart in analysis.] After that greeting?

Well, to be fair, the church has never thought very highly of me.

['bless their hearts' would be the sarcastic phrase. he's only got a smirk about it.]

My training was unorthodox and I've never much felt for the "traditional moral values" instilled by our religious leaders. But, I can be called upon to perform rites, attend burials, and dismiss the lingering dead--so, yes. I still count.

I'd never doubt you counting, certainly. [If only other Priests were so much fun.] How do you like it? Your work. Unless it's a topic best not discussed in detail...

It's all right. I have mixed opinions about the living, but helping the dead is very satisfying.
