Who: Sheena & you? Perhaps?
Broadcast: Video, fleet-wide!
Action: Only for people on the Marsiva
When: 4/8
[action;]
[Other people on the Marsiva can find Sheena poking around the kitchen or staring out the viewing windows. She's bothered by what she can see, and she's bothered by what she's not being told. Clutched in her hands are a pair of decorative chopsticks.]
[This is not Sheena's first space rodeo. She figures out what she's supposed to do after no time at all, really, though she's a bit annoyed. The camera shows the purple ninja framed by stars-- the window, she's not floating in space, thank goodness.]
Is this thing on? [She is 100 percent muscle and READY TO TUSSLE.] I'd like to have a few 'words' with whoever's in charge. I was supposed to be going somewhere important, not getting stuck in space again.
Also, the ships outside don't look like they're in good shape. What happened?

[LOOK LISTEN HER CLOTHING IS A LOT LIKE WHAT SOME PEOPLE IN JAPANIFORNIA WEAR COUGH MAYA]

[She places her hands on her hips.]
I'm from Tethe'alla-- though I guess it's called Aselia now. ... It's complicated.
no subject
But he's slowly lowering them when she talks about her... world?]
Tethe'alla? Aselia? I've never heard of...
[... Wait. Wait. He widens his eyes, his gaze lowering to the floor.]
The multiverse theory? That's for real?
[Okay hold on let him get a handle on this.]
I didn't think it was possible; Level 1 implies that no matter how far you go, you'd never reach the parallel universe that the theory talks about. Level 2 has all universes expanding faster than the speed of light itself, so trying to reach those would be impossible. Level 3 takes place at the same time as us and is made when any kind of decision is made, but there's still no possible way to access them. And Level 4 just doesn't make sense; the mathematical equations would be totally messed up, the laws of nature would be completely different than ours, but if you follow the mathematical democracy principle, then any universe that is mathematically possible has equal possibility of actually existing! This just goes beyond any of those levels; a discovery like this would change the shape of physics and science itself for all time!
[...
Okay. Clay gives a sheepish little smile and even blushes a bit.]
Sorry. I, uh... ramble when I get nervous about something... So we're stuck in the middle of all this?
no subject
Uh... [oh my god. she's so lost.] I have no idea what you just said. [She laughs a bit nervously.] But yeah, you got it. We're trapped here for a while... for better or worse.
For the record? Tethe'alla had its own parallel world. Crossing over wasn't too hard once we had the right technology for it. It was two halves of the same world originally, but they were hidden from each other.
no subject
How do you split an entire world without killing everyone on it and maintaining its orbit and - uh. I mean... How does any of that happen?
no subject
Magic.
[No, seriously.]
no subject
[Like Trucy's magic shows kind of magic or]
no subject
So, yeah. Magic. [She wiggles her fingers.] I'm not an expert on it, even though I use mana. You'd be better off asking Raine or Genis if they ever show up.
no subject
Those are so many words that have a definition Clay doesn't know, and he knows a lot of words.]
Uh... [Well. At least he knows it's not Trucy-magic.] We're from two totally different worlds all right.
no subject
Yup. I figured when I saw your weird armor.
no subject
[You know what, he's gonna start working on getting that "armor" off as he talks because it's fucking heavy, man. Luckily, he has clothes on underneath, as he saw earlier when he frantically checked his torso to see if - well, yeah.]
It's a space suit! We astronauts - that's people who're trained to be a crew member on a space craft - we wear it to make space travel easier for us. This one here's mostly for launch and entry portions of flight, though they recently modified them to be used inside and outside the ship - out in space itself! See, if you have a suit just for inside the ship, then it's lighter and more comfortable to use. But if you're counting outside it, too...
[When the suit drops to the floor, it does so with a large THUNK.]
... It's a lot heavier.
no subject
Wow, no kidding! You must be pretty strong to wear that all the time. It sounds like it's heavier than a set of chainmail.
[She touches her chin.]
I didn't know about astronauts. I spent some time on a... base? It was in space, sort of, on the moon. But no one wanted to be there, and we couldn't go anywhere for a long time. It just wasn't a pleasant experience.
no subject
But oh man, she was on the moon? ... And no one wanted to be there?]
How did - Was there - [Oh god, he wants to ask all about how the base was getting its oxygen, how they managed to get a building on the moon, everything. But she said she didn't like it, and she probably doesn't know the answers to his questions, so he holds himself back from it all.] I mean... how did you get out of there?
