[holy shit you guys there is a planet, like, an actual planet now. what are you gonna do? get out and look? marvel at the locals? search for aliens? stand around your ship and questioning every life choice you've made up until this point? hang around in orbit because planets are for squares?

this is mostly for early stuff, so please feel free to make your own posts in the next couple of weeks with more planet (or station, or ship!) shenanigans.]

[he laughs a little and... steps out of the doorway. now he is officially an intruder. he doesn't move much further than that, though, and regards her with interest.]

My name's Robin, like the bird. Who are you?

Like the bird, that's nice. [ she smiles a bit to herself. ]

My name is Makoto Matou.

Makoto... Matou... [he pronounces her name very carefully--as if committing every syllable to memory.] It's a lovely name, does it mean anything?

It means really wealthy and powerful.

Aa, so are you a member of a different ship, then?
What is your job?

[while he's loitering, he might as well find something to lean against...]

Yeah, I'm captain of the Bloodsport over there. [jabbing his thumb in some general direction behind him.] I promise I do more than just poke my head into people's ships.

A strong name for a ship. [ she looks a little impressed. ]

Well, as this ship's communications officer it's probably good I meet the other captains. I'd prefer to be able to visualize them properly and all.

Communications, congratulations. I might be a little jealous; our ship doesn't have one yet. You seem like a useful bunch.

[may or may not have a charming smile on his face.]

Even if you did get one, they wouldn't be better than me. [ she offers with a friendly shrug. ]

One of my crew mates so far is a real pain in the ass, though. Maybe I'll apply for a switch one of these days.
