[ This is awkward. How do you say 'hello, I died but now I'm back' to a fleet of people? She's never really been through all of this before. Almost dying isn't the same as actually dying, apparently. ]

That wasn't fun. I don't recommend it, if anyone was curious.

[ It's difficult not to feel him, when he was the first man you loved and the being that wants to destroy everything you love. It's her responsibility to stop him, but... How can she do that? ]

He's not a God. [ It comes out as a weak mumble, her frown set on her face before she breathes out. ] I'm trying, Riona, truly, I am, but how do you stop loving someone? It's been two years since he left me and months since I saw him last, but... [ Sitting taller, she clenches her fists. ] I'm trying. I gave away his necklace, I'm avoiding the Goldstone, I'm talking to Dorian. I'm thinking of how to tell Justice everything. It's just... Fighting a dragon is so much easier.

S'why I said "kind-of". [She nudges her for that, but falls silent and listens as she continues. Riona got lucky with Alistair. He's her first love, and by all accounts will be her only. Sure, she's had an infatuation or two, but nothing close to love. She's never had to move on from it. So, she's likely not the best to ask, but she wants to help.] All you can do is try. You can't make yourself stop loving someone, and I think the more you fight it, the harder it'll be. You still love him, for better or worse. It is what it is. It's there, you can't force it to go away. But like anything, love is only as powerful as we allow it. Just take it one step at a time.

[She huffs out a laugh.] Agreed, fighting a dragon is so much easier than handling these sorts of emotions.

I think I'll have to kill him. [ Leilani shakes her head, tears in her eyes. ] I'm going to have to kill him, and everyone will celebrate, but -

[ She purses her lips, sitting up straighter. She doesn't want to feel sorry for herself, but she's tired, old before her time, recently back from death. A little pity was permissible. ]

Justice is at scary as a dragon, I think. [ At least she manages a smile. ] I don't expect him to return my feelings, nor do I expect anything kind from him. I think, however, he deserves to have a chance to understand.

[All Riona can do is take her hand and squeeze it. She doesn't want to say there might be another way or someone else will do it. There's no way of knowing. Leilani feels a responsibility to dealing with Solas, and while Riona doesn't think it should fall on her, she understands.]

He does. But you know, he might just surprise you. He's certainly surprised me plenty these past months. I don't know if he quite understands how to feel love, but when he came to me... well, he certainly had the look and tone and devastation of someone with a broken heart. Can't have one of those if you don't feel anything at all.

[ Leilani grips her hand gently, breathing out before she tilts her head to look at Riona. ]

I never wanted to cause that. [ She swallows. ] I don’t mind if he doesn’t love me back. I... I just want him to be happy. If I get to be part of that then I’d consider myself lucky.

He'll understand, Leilani. Well, once you explain it in clear detail for him. You know how he gets with the more complex emotional situations sometimes. [Justice is still learning the ropes of mortal emotional behavior, and this has been a doozy.] You both deserve to be happy. I think you can find that within each other.

I've tried my best to make sure he understood in the past. When I went to him before... I'd just fought with Dorian. It wasn't fair.

That's not the best mindset to approach that sort of thing, no. I didn't realize you had fought with Dorian, though I noticed something seemed off.

He mentioned Solas, I got very upset. [ She waves her hand, absently, as though it was nothing. ] It's in the past.

I see. [Well, if it's been settled, then there's no point in talking about it more.] I've dragged an awful lot out of you today. If you want me to piss off for awhile I'll understand.
