[ She reaches for the beer without pause. ]

But I'm well enough, other than that.

[It comes out of left field for Thor, who had missed the mayhem on the waystation. He'd thought the Blue Fish was quieter for a while but not because of a death. His mouth twists with regret and he shakes his head.]

I am sorry, I didn't know.

[veilstrike]

[ Leilani shakes her head, almost reaching out for him, but - she doesn't really know him, does she? And he doesn't really know her, so the kindness might not be appreciated. ]

There's no need to apologise. It was my own fault and I'm back now.

[rebuildyourruins]

Why do you say that? [Thor hadn't even considered assigning fault and it's a curious thing to say. But maybe she doesn't wish to discuss it further.] Ah, I had heard that the Fleet can resurrect its fallen. I just haven't seen it happen before.

[Until now.]

[veilstrike]

I'm the one who walked onto an undead waystation. [ She lifts a shoulder, awkwardly. ] But I am back. It's... Strange, but...

[rebuildyourruins]

That's still no cause to deserve death.

[Walking into battle isn't an automatic death sentence, no matter the odds. Still, it's clear Leilani thinks some blame lies at her feet.]

Did you just... come back on the ship?

[veilstrike]

I woke up on the Marsiva, first, and then I was transferred back. [ She frowns, considering. ] I'm not entirely sure how long I was there.

[rebuildyourruins]

The Marsiva? [There's a concern. He's only heard in passing of times when people end up back on the Marsiva. It's rare enough to be worrying.] It must have been confusing.

[veilstrike]

I was there for a little while. It must be where they do... Whatever it is they do for us. [ She just shrugs, reaching for a drink. ] It was, but I wasn't alone.

[rebuildyourruins]

[Thor takes up his drink as well, mulling that over. He doesn't like the idea of being on the Marsiva but not knowing what's being done.]

Others were there with you?

[veilstrike]

Other people that died when I did. [ She reaches and touches her neck. ] I think we're all back now.

[rebuildyourruins]

[He's silent for a moment. Obviously something terrible occurred and not everyone had been privy to it. It makes him ill at ease, knowing how easily things could go awry with him none the wiser. Eventually he shakes his head; there's no point feeling guilty over it now.]

I'm glad to hear it, and to hear you're well again. I would hope nothing else like that occurs here.

[He does hope, but remains wary of the fact that it could.]

[veilstrike]

[ It's not the best and most comfortable situation, but Leilani is doing what she can to move on from it and get over it. She's doing her best and she has good friends around her, so it's helping, but... ]

I hope so too, but there's no guarantee. At least it's proof that we can handle it if it does come, for the most part.

Those sorts of times are rare on the Fleet, from what I know.

[veilstrike]

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

[rebuildyourruins]

[He chuckles a bit, raising his glass towards Leilani.]

Oh no, I definitely agree. This has been the least eventful journey I've been on in years.

[veilstrike]

That sounds like you have stories to tell. [ Leaning forward, she smiles. ] Want to trade?

[rebuildyourruins]

[Careful, Leilani. Thor is always enthusiastic about sharing tales of valour and excitement. He grins in reply, nodding.]

Absolutely. Would you like to begin?

[veilstrike]

[ She looks delighted at the idea, making herself more comfortable. ]

That depends on if you want to hear about politics, magic or dragons.

Out of all those, I have experienced dragons the least, so that one.

[veilstrike]

My Inquisition and I were tasked with investigating what happened to the last Inquisitor in lands we had never explored before, so we decided it might be quite a good adventure. After saving a bear from being kidnapped, we enlisted the aid of a group of people called the Avvar in order to storm a fortress where some of our enemies lay in order to confront their leader. Within was the... Spirit, perhaps?

[ She shrugs. ]

Something, embodiment of the last Inquisitor who told us that he had bound a dragon but now that he was free... So was the dragon. We had to go out onto a frozen river and kill a high dragon in order to free the land from the tyranny it had been wreaking with it's people.

So this dragon was freed when the spirit was? Sounds like old magic.

[The Asgardians had plenty of old stories and legends about binding enemies and what might happen when those bonds are broken. Hadn't Hela herself been proof of that? It's still intriguing to think about a dragon being linked to a man who had once defeated it.]

I assume high dragons are stronger than regular ones.

[veilstrike]

It was very old magic - centuries old, really.

[ It's not something she completely understood, all things considered, but all she knew was that she had to take the mantle of the previous Inquisitor as best she could. ]

They are, but it wasn't the first dragon I'd killed.

How did you fell it?

[veilstrike]

I had a warrior and three mages. We were powerful enough to cast it down, even if it did take us a little while.
