[her lips twitch into a brief, sympathetic smile. From what she's gathered, most people don't enjoy being here, and she really can't blame them. She's one of them]

[ He nods. Sometimes that's the best you can do, just to keep going. ]

[ The weird, dark dream thing. Which he might not believe happened, but here she is, real in the waking world, so everything else must be. ]

[ah. Her expression returns to it's usual, neutral expression and she shakes her head] No, I'm afraid.

[a considering noise] We tried dreamwalking to the Marsiva, but I'm blocked from there - I can't even find it, even if we know for certain someone is there. So getting more information on our . . . friend will take another extreme attempt by those capable, probably.

[ The truth is he's not sure that's a bad thing, not being able to get to it. Sure, he'd rather have all the information, but thinking about everything she'd shown him-- there's still an echo of how unpleasant it felt to see all of that. ]

Might not be bad to get some distance from it.

[ He glances up, though honestly he's not sure exactly where he's glancing-- charting out the still-orbiting Marsiva Is beyond him here, and he's not particularly inclined to try. he's definitely decided he prefers planets, even if this one is a little less steady than he's used to.

Mmm, probably. Some time to reflect on what we do know could be good.

[she isn't the type to rush into situations anyway, especially not when it involves beings she isn't at all familiar with, who have control over all of them thanks to the things in their heads]

Admittedly, this is out of my field of expertise. I generally deal with dreams and wayward spirits back home.

Ghosts?

[ Sure, he's mildly skeptical-- but only mildly. Mostly it's just so far removed from his frame of reference, he's not sure what dealing with that even means. ]

Sometimes. "Spirits" is a general term for all sorts of creatures, ghosts included. Japan is full of all kinds of things. Monsters is probably a more common term, but not really accurate.

[she makes a thoughtful noise, then shrugs] Anyway, my job is to deal with them when they step out of line. We have rules we have to follow; if one gets broken, then I step in. Usually I just help ghosts move on or relocate troublesome creatures. The peaceful option is usually the better one.

Usually. Not always.
