Who: Wanda Maximoff
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Drade, if you want
When: After the Shuffle
[Wanda's idly toying with what looks like a bright blue apple while she talks. Welcome to life in space, apparently. She's both intrigued and not quite sure she trusts it, like many of the things here. But at least Drade, strange as it is, is open. She doesn't particularly care for confined spaces like the ships.]
I have only been here a little while and already I hear so many stories about the mists. If you've gone exploring, what did you see?
[She's sure someone must have, especially given some of the whispers she's heard of treasure. That doesn't appeal to her as much, but she is curious. And more than a little weirded out. Mist that can drive someone to madness? It's not the same thing at all, not really, but it does feel unsettlingly close to home.]

[Hopefully not just bad ways, though they're definitely not starting off in the best place with the kidnapping and all.]

How? Magic?
[Wanda Maximoff, asking the important questions here.]

[Ha ha ha...not going down that rabbit hole any farther. Anyway. Back to the first oddity.]
If you want, we could get lunch some time? We were friends, yes?
no subject
Yeah, we were. [They'd gotten closer than she might have guessed. It's not something she wants to put on someone who just met her as far as she knows. But then maybe her friendship doesn't have to be seen as a burden either.] I'd like that.

Your choice, then. I'm not familiar with the good places to eat yet.

I had a brother. Of course I like sweets. [She laughs.] Or I could try to cook something if I can find a better kitchen.

She finds herself looking a little unsure how to respond when she says she has a brother. [How weird does it get if she says "I know?" She says nothing instead.] There will be plenty of time for you to figure out cooking with what we have around here. I'll treat to a planetary meal. [She's had more time to accrue credits after all and she's rarely light on the drama even if she's not doing it for the ratings and money.]

[She laughs.]
We won't have the chance very often, yes? The oven on our ship looks like it is... [How blunt is she allowed to be?] ...not the best.
My bracketing needed some work there. /sob
[And then she laughs.] The oven's are still better than most of the ingredients we have in ready supply to put in it anyway.

[She's just going to have to camp there and watch whatever she decides to bake first like a hawk.]
Probably something small first. Or something no one will be upset if I ruin.

Nothing's more disappointing than burned sweets. Or not being able to get the cake out of the pan.
