[Wanda's idly toying with what looks like a bright blue apple while she talks. Welcome to life in space, apparently. She's both intrigued and not quite sure she trusts it, like many of the things here. But at least Drade, strange as it is, is open. She doesn't particularly care for confined spaces like the ships.]

I have only been here a little while and already I hear so many stories about the mists. If you've gone exploring, what did you see?

[She's sure someone must have, especially given some of the whispers she's heard of treasure. That doesn't appeal to her as much, but she is curious. And more than a little weirded out. Mist that can drive someone to madness? It's not the same thing at all, not really, but it does feel unsettlingly close to home.]

Are you all right now?

[Wanda can imagine better than most what kinds of 'familiar faces' she might be referring to.]

Oh, I'm all right. [As all right as ever. Whatever she's seen, or whatever she thinks she'd see, Natasha's inclined to leave it there. Plenty of reasons not to dwell on it.]

When did you drop in? Can't have been too long.

[...well, Wanda had to ask, but she's also not sure what she was expecting. If she's feeling reluctant to display anything that could look like weakness in front of their audience, she can't blame Nat at all for wanting to move past it.]

A week ago? I think. It is hard to keep track of time on the ships.

I didn't realize so many people from home were here.

[Natasha's not the best at revealing weakness at the best of times—in person would at least feel more private. But there's plenty more important to talk about anyway.]

I should pay closer attention to the ship rosters, obviously. [Could have welcomed her properly.] Avengers seem popular.

[Well, if the show's producers want drama...]

How many of us are here? Sam, the other Sam, Thor, you, and me?

Loki. Barnes, and another Barnes. [So there's that. Natasha's expression lifts a little with that, brows rising with wry humor. Then, a bit softer.] Rogers. There's at least one other guy from our world—he's a wizard. Who knew.

[And complicated:] Banner.

There's been some others who came and went. Vision was here for a while, and Stark. Stark's father.

Like I said, there's a lot of us in and out.

[Wanda takes the list mostly in stride, raising an eyebrow when Nat mentions a wizard. O...kay? Weird, but definitely someone she wants to meet.

But when Nat mentions Bruce, Wanda can't help but bite her lip and glance away. Complicated indeed.]

It almost sounds like they're collecting us.

Have you been here very long?

[Natasha's still figuring that part out herself.]

About two years now. It goes faster than you'd expect.

[And that is a part she doesn't care for. How could she?]

Collecting might be a strong word, but... there seems to be an interest.

Any advice? Since you've been here so long?

[If anyone's picked up something she needs to know about this place, it's going to be Nat.]

[That's a question that could get dark quickly. It's one Natasha takes seriously, though, and that doesn't entail sugarcoating the situation.]

Don't trust it. They say this is a TV show, and maybe it's true, but there's more going on than meets the eye.

[They're not in the same room, so all Wanda can do is wonder what happened that Nat can't say.]

I wasn't planning on letting my guard down.

[At the very least, their 'hosts' are still interdimensional kidnappers.]

That's a good start. [Natasha will fill her in on more later, when they're face to face, better if they're on a planet, somewhere there's at least a chance of not being under constant surveillance.] Other than that... they're not kidding when they say not to mess with the augments. Nothing good's come from that so far.

I also wasn't planning on trying to mess with something so close to my brain.

[She manages a small laugh - the augment makes her super nervous. She's had quite enough of being someone's experimental plaything, thanks.]

What happens if someone tries?

Depends. It's painful, for one. You might lose consciousness. But the real problem is the augments... [Natasha would like to believe Wanda is smarter than that, but some things are worth saying. There's no way of knowing what situations they might run into that make trying look more attractive.] Sometimes they malfunction. People end up with their heads messed up. Amnesia, possibly.

[Wanda frowns and fidgets uncomfortably. If that happened to her, she wouldn't be a danger to everyone...but who could stop her if she tried to go after the Avengers again?

...would her past self even try under these circumstances? And what if she was so messed up she couldn't fully control her powers?]

Do they remember this place? Or do they forget everything?

[Natasha bows her head, letting her hair and her lashes partially obscure her face, breaking eye contact.]

I didn't remember, when it happened to me.

[...whatever happened, it must have been bad.]

If it happens to me, if I... [If I attack you again, she means to say, but she can't quite force herself to form the words in such a public forum.] Tell me to look again. Think of a time we were happy.

[Natasha isn't exactly in a hurry to have Wanda in her memory again, but she nods—and she smiles slightly. It's good thinking.]

I'll remember that. Good plan to have in place. But let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Me too. But...I feel better if there's a plan.

[Especially when she's not sure if anyone here could actually stop her if they needed to. Thor, maybe, if he hit her with even a small amount of electricity, but there's no guarantee he'd be around.]

Just in case.

Checks out. [Nodding, Natasha lets that stand. She doesn't offer a serious plan in return. Wanda is a different kind of threat from Natasha. Instead, she jokes:]

If you see a little redhead ballerina around, don't let her near any weapons.

[Maybe only sort of a joke.]
