I like fancy food, it's just not a requirement for me. When you've had access to anything you could want, sometimes the basics are best.

I...have never found that to be the case for me unless the basics are pizza and ice cream. Back in the prison we could have pretty much anything. Lobster and caviar for every meal if that's your thing. And it's not my thing, but I did eat a lot of pizza and ice cream and thai food. [The last one was more about who who she was eating with.]

Lobster and caviar every meal sounds like a good way to ruin lobster and caviar.

I won't say I don't miss the food generator on the Waverider, because obviously I do.

You had a food generator? Like straight up sci-fi food appears as if out of nowhere? Did you...memorize the specs for it by any chance?

Uh, definitely not. Maybe if Jax shows up he can tell you how it works.

Look, if we're going to be indefinitely detainees the least they could do would be to let us have whatever.

You'd think. That was basically the theory at the prison. Except they had some arbitrary rules about behaviors that they considered crime-inducing. It was against the rules to have sex of any kind when I first got there. [That rule got relaxed over time.]

Okay, that place was worse than this place.

Sex isn't illegal here, right? Because that would be a huge thing people failed to mention.

Yeah, no amount of pizza was making up for that.

[She laughs.] It's probably encouraged here. Generates lots of ratings after all. [How do you think she affords the food and the ship upgrades?] Which is a different level of creepy.

Yeah I don't want to think too hard about that.

Is having sex with someone here cheating on someone back home? How does that even work?

[She stops unpacking and scoots herself up onto the counter.] Who's back home? [It's not the question of a single person.]

Honestly? It's complicated. I was dating this girl and then we weren't together, and then the whole world was going to get destroyed and I think we're back on again? But honestly, especially since I'm here, who knows.

On the plus side, I wouldn't even know what simple looks like. That string of events sounds totally normal. [She intellectually knows it doesn't or shouldn't and yet...it kind of does? To her at least.]

The whole world is ending sex is kind of the best. Or the whole world almost ended, but we're still here, life affirming sex. Actually that might be better. [She looks thoughtful and then shakes her head.] Okay, not the point.

How do you feel about it? Do you feel like should be waiting for her whether it's days or years before she shows up here or you make it back? Or do you feel like things are on pause while it's so long distance it's interdimensional?

I feel like things should be on pause. I don't think she'd feel that way. She's kind of a rules person.

We met actually because she was part of the bureau trying to stop us from traveling through time and fixing things. Well, I saw it as fixing things, she saw it as ruining things... and to be fair, there were some mistakes.

The whole opposites attracting thing? So, she probably wouldn't be surprised you decided to take being cast out of your reality as a pause at least? Angry, but not surprised?

She's not the kind of person I want to live down to expectations to. On the other hand, what am I supposed to do, pick up knitting?
