[Kitty is walking along the corridors of the ship with her inherited direwolf pup, Seeker. She normally takes him to the Iskaulit or surface when they're somewhere decent so he has more room since the Twin Roses is such an efficiently-designed ship. So this is less of a walk and more of a patrol. Just making sure everything still looks like a ship. She used to patrol a lot at home and in the prison. Some habits stick. As they near the lounge Seeker darts through the door to eagerly and expectantly look at Makie. Kitty follows a moment later.] Concert time?

[While she's grown more used to him (and he's small-ish besides), she can't stop the wary flick of her eyes to the direwolf pup. Bad experiences with dogs and all. He doesn't hold her attention long, though, glance shifting back to Kitty with a smile.]

Only if I have an audience.

[She likes the lounge.]

Then it's a good thing I'm here. [She heads inside and takes a seat on one of the shabby chic chairs, heavy on the shabby. She also gives Seeker a quiet signal to return to her which he does, laying at her feet. She leans down to scratch behind his ears.]

[Well, she doesn't mind playing for the dog, too. She really has nothing specific against them, just bad memories. Makie smiles briefly at Kitty's light answer and continues to tune the shamisen for a few moments more.

And then she begins to play, head bowed over her work. You've got to excuse her. Just like Makie, all her songs are beautiful, but terribly melancholy.

(...unless she's playing Fleetwood Mac. That happens sometimes.)]

[Fleetwood Mac would make Kitty smile too. Clearly an influence she recognizes and misses too. Maybe Kitty will teach Makie some AC/DC sometime.]

That was beautiful. [She says after one of the haunting tunes ends.] How did you learn to play?

When I was very young, my mother taught me. Then I learned myself. It's always an art I've enjoyed.

[Makes her feel peaceful.]
