When: Late Monday night, because when you can't sleep, but it's just because you're thinking of home, you do shitposts in the middle of the night.

[ It's pretty clear from the sheen of sweat across the Bull's considerable shoulders, he's been working out even if it weren't obvious he was in the gym of the Iskaulit at the time. He takes a seat on a bench as the feed turns on and he smiles amicably at the fleet. ]

Hey! So, back home, me and the boys used to play a game when we were on the road. It's not easy to carry around a table around for cards just to have somebody get pissed and knock it over. [ He shakes his head. ] Anyway, here's how you play: you figure out the weirdest, most badass monster you and think of, right, and then you pit it against somebody else's, and you figure out who would win in a fight. Then, the loser has to come up with something that could beat the winner, or somebody else does. Whatever works. Sometimes there's fights.

[ He rolls his shoulders in a shrug. ]

That's the fun part, anyway. Okay, I'll go first: How about...a... [ He looks thoughtful. He's not going for the dragon first off. That's sort of like cheating. ] ...a wyvern, but with wings that let it fly in short bursts sort of like a chicken...and, uh...a gaze that can turn things to stone if its held too long.

A pair of scientists made the robots I have seen. The father made the first one and was, for all intents, an absolute monster devoid of morals in the face of wanting to be the superior to everyone around him. His son is equally kind and shy and devoid of anything that could approach overt or covert maliciousness.

One of my teammates even liked the son. Genuine care from an otherwise frigid block of ice.

[He nods.]

Hard not to like somebody like that, you know? Even for somebody who's seemingly heartless. If he was such a nice guy, though, why'd he make one of those things?

I saw into his thoughts. He couldn't raise a hand to a fly without feeling bad about it. If I didn't know that the two were related, I would never have believed it. The son didn't make a giant robot because it was going to be a good weapon. He saw it as something to keep the peace.

Pretty nice thought.

[He nods.]

Too bad too many people only hear fighting.

My boss heard it loud and clear. Rex was impressive to look at in person regardless of the true nature of its existence.

Ah, I get it. So Rex didn't really have to do anything. Intimidation tactics.

It was an odd kind of nostalgia to feel before the plans got set into motion. I never got a chance to see Rex get used.

Badass robot thing and you didn't even get to see it? That's shitty.

No shit. I died in the middle of an invasion being brought down on the facility from two directions.

[Wait. Hang on a second.]

...you died?

It isn't something I like to talk about. I was shot several times and bled out internally. [He heaves a sigh that moves his whole body.] The last thing I remember is losing all sense of consciousness and physical sensation.

[There's a small pause and he lets out a mirthless laugh.] I had it coming. It was either going to be my boss's brother or this deranged ninja that made his way onto the base. The brother made for a better story.

Shit...That's, uh...a hell of a story, Psycho.

When I say it as it was, it doesn't even sound real. After all the time I have spent here, it feels like a fever dream that lasted a long time.

[Which just begs the question:]

How long have you been here, Psycho?

A year, I think. I thought it was a final hallucination at first while my brain shut down. When it hit me this was all real, my focus turned to figuring out all the aliens and new worlds.

...shit...and nobody around from your world to help you figure it out?

There are all kinds of people from my planet, but no one who actually comes from the version I grew up on. I haven't met anyone who recognizes my name or the people I mention when talking about what my life has been like.

That's not too weird, I guess. There's a lot of people who call a world home.

It's more than that. Organizations and figures that are known globally and among people who work in my exact field don't know who I'm talking about and they mention historical events and organizations I've never heard of with functions that simply don't exist outside of fiction. At best, we might come from the same planet, but in different points in time. If not, we come from different versions of the same planet with vastly different histories.

[He frowns at that for a moment.]

That's a new one. Anybody else here you know of in that situation?

Not off the top of my head, but I wouldn't doubt there are a few humans here who would be able to say about the same thing. I find it hard to believe there are people who never heard of names like Big Boss and older figures like Voyevoda.

Hey. Where I come from, there's one lady who's in charge of the whole Inquisition, and everybody else here from Thedas thinks the Inquisitor's an elf, so I feel that.

Then we have a similar issue when it comes to authority figures.

A part of me is unconvinced Voyevoda ever existed, but I know she did. We have written and digital records now that talk about how intelligent and skilled she was. Men of all make and backgrounds fell to their knees before her.

But nobody else from your world knows about her?

No one. If anyone here is from my version of my world, I haven't met them yet.
