Broadcast: none unless specified otherwise
Action: SS Goldstone!
When: During this month's drift period (and beyond?)

Opening the crates (open mingle thread)
But even more naturally, the curiosity gets the best of him. As the last system disappears in the black of space, Felix can be found in the cargo hold, directing a firmly contemplative look at the latches of the large boxes. While this isn't enough to spell intent, the box of tools at his feet and one held almost absently in his hand certainly might]

Someone has beaten her to it already, by the time she even makes her way to the cargo hold.]
Oh. Uh... hey.
[Nope, definitely not here thinking about checking to see what's inside the crates.]
no subject
Ah...hello. Captain.
no subject
Well, since we're both here. No sense avoiding checking to make sure nothing's been damaged between pick up and now that we're drifting.
[You know. Because that's totally why they should open it. Perfectly reasonable.]

Then she nods. ]
Good idea. Want some help?
no subject
...are you sure? You'd be able to claim involvement should anything terrible some crawling out of this.
no subject
Yeah. Think I'd rather know than not know. Don't feel like playing delivery fleet for Atroma if it's going to be something they can use against us.

Felix Harrowgate
A. Ribbons
[While most of the ribbons have been put pack where they went, dangling halfway out of the open crate in the hold, Felix has taken a variety of the mysterious things down into the engine room for further examination where anyone may find him conducting tests. There is at least one ribbon that is scorched by fire, and yet another that has been shredded into multiple strands. Hopefully they won't find a few missing pieces when the cargo arrives?]
B. Lounging
[Very much not all work and no play, Felix takes time during the quiet drift period to relax in the ship's lounge, when he's not otherwise haunting the bar or the library, that is. His favorite hobby of late is taking his lunch here, rather than the kitchen; reclined comfortably on the sofa with some tea and his patched-together chess set placed conspicuously out on the coffee table in front of him.]
C. Pay no attention to the glitch (partial ship-wide audio)
[Near the end of the second week, he's begun to suspect something is amiss. After nearly falling asleep in the engine room and then the library, he's certain Atroma is to blame for this somehow (especially considering how the rest of the crew was effected). Not to mention, he has some suspicions about how forthcoming he's been to his crew. Better to keep to himself. Laying in bed in his quarters, he opens up his communicator]
It seems as though I've been struck by some Atroma-related illness of some kind. [True] Which I suppose is entirely deserved in my case. [Well, he hadn't meant to say that, but it's true enough. Maybe they'll leave him alone out of anger]
[He sighs] In any case, I'll be staying in my room until this passes, just in case I'm contagious or in anyone tries to ask me questions I'd rather not answer. [That last part had sort of slipped out without his meaning to. Shit.
Groaning, he covers his face with a pillow]
C
Funny. You don't look sick.
no subject
Not all sicknesses are outwardly apparent, but no, I'm less sick than I feel as I'm been awake for a day and a half. [His lips thin for a moment, at the forthcoming nature of that, but there's nothing to be done]
What's your excuse?
no subject
What? You mean for this? I can't change back so I'm going to put my good money on Atroma fucking us around.
Probably because we opened their crate...in hindsight.

Crowley | OTA
[If there's one thing that Crowley can't resist, it's Forbidden Fruit. It's kind of his thing. And so, anyone coming to check on the cargo before Felix eventually caves and opens them will find Crowley hanging around. Sometimes, he's leaning on the wall nearby, sometimes he's passing by the door, sometimes, he just appears on top of the box, sitting like he'd been there all day. It doesn't matter when, or why- if you have even a glimmer of a thought about opening it, he's there.
Because he knows. ]
I mean, honestly, we really are owed a little peek at this point, don't you think? We've gone through a lot for this place, we've earned the right to know what's inside.
B: 'Go on, give it a go' thus said the Serpent.
[Rather appropriately, Crowley's been forced out of his much more pleasant human-shape and into his original earth-bound form. Anyone can find a little green snake coiled up on the communications workspace. He might even deign to lift his head to watch you enter. ]
So. This is bullshit.
Maggie | OTA
[It was strange. She'd never seen a space ship before, but she realized that's what this was. Wow, would her dad be mad she wasn't home to be ready for dinner! She absolutely had to take all of this in, now that the shock had worn off.
Have a tiny Captain running around your ship, Goldstone. This might be a bit nostalgic after having Takeshi run things for so long. Unfortunately Maggie wouldn't remember any of that or you, but here we are. Good luck keeping her out of trouble.]
What does this do?
[If you're on the bridge or anywhere with buttons or knobs she is probably going to be in your way, pressing things. Should any visiters come by, she will most assuredly be asking them questions about their ship(s) as well.]
no subject
Please don't touch that, it turns of the inertial dampeners.
[Felix, standing at the workbench inside the engine room, where the ribbons from the cargo are placed in neat rows over the surface. He turns an exasperated gaze at his new young captain]
no subject
[Still, she does what she's told, making her way back to his workbench instead to look at the ribbons.]
Those are pretty. What're they for?

So when she winds up around the part of the ship he's working on, all he sees is a kid poking at things he's still getting a total handle on. ]
Whoa, hey-- that's part of life support. Or... [ Wait, he moves closer, what exactly is she poking? ] ...oh, biowaste. Still, you don't want to mess with that.
no subject
Biowaste doesn't sound all that important. I bet it won't do anything if I just touch the buttons.
[Still, she's going to listen. He wasn't mad at her or anything, just not sure what to do by the looks of him.]

[ Jayden isn't lab support or an engineer, or a particularly science-y type, but the arc lightning inside of her knows something conductive when she touches it. Curiosity gets the better of her, so after her typical workout for the day, she decides to have a little fun before just going right back to her room.
She's sitting in the cargo bay by the opened box, holding a bright blue ribbon, letting her powers course through it. She of course can't tell why the current seems to flow through a set path, or what could possibly cause that, but it's interesting nonetheless. Besides, isn't this fabric? Should fabric even... do this?
Her Ghost, just as curious as she is, hovers nearby and watches closely, like he's trying to calculate... well, whatever he can.
Too bad Atroma keeps him in the dark by fouling up his scanners constantly whenever it's most convenient...]2) Glitch - First few days
[ One day, Jayden wakes up... and refuses to leave her room. So, she sends a text notification to everyone on the ship - just in case. ]
Price here.
not leaving my room for a while. glitch.
if it's an emergency or you need me to fly text me. no video.
[ That oughta be clear enough, right? right.
Meanwhile, she's gonna sit here in her bed, and pretend she isn't currently stuck with long, brown bunny ears that stick straight up from her head. Oh, and the round, fluffy little brown tail to match. How irritating...! ]
3) Glitch - Last few days
[ Okay, at some point, she realizes she can't just hide in her room for up to a week or maybe even longer... probably... sigh.
So she can finally be seen around the ship again! Wearing a hoodie. With the hood pulled up. Though it looks like it's fitting the top of her head kind of weird... Can't really hide the tail, though. She'll just. Pretend really hard that it's not there. That'll work, right? Ugh.
She can be found in the kitchen with a HUGE mug full of coffee, in the cargo room glaring at the box of ribbons, or in the pilot's seat on the bridge making sure everything is running smoothly. Otherwise, she's mostly sulking in her room (albeit with the door open now, at least), sulking in the lounge, or in the hallways on her way to any of those places!
... Care to tease her about the bunny features? :3 Good luck. ]
((ooc: YUP, she's got brown bunny ears and a lil brown bunny tail! She is SO UNHAPPY ABOUT IT, too~ ♥ Have fun. ))
iskaulit gym I DO WHAT I WANT
Someone actually being there gives him pause, though. He isn't expecting it - usually it's fairly empty when he skulks in, and he debates leaving - but he squints and recognizes Jayden, and that's a little better than someone random he hasn't met yet. he huffs to himself and shrugs off his jacket as he wanders over, tossing the leather off onto a bench as he grunts a greeting]
Ain't it too early for this shit?
[he says, as if he isn't here, doing the same damn thing, and isn't a morning person otherwise. He hasn't noticed anything weird yet, but then again, he hasn't put on his glasses yet. It's only a matter of time]
no subject
She's relieving some bunny-features-related stress via punching bag when she hears his voice, and she freezes, straightening. Oh shit. ]
... Uh.
[ There is... definitely nowhere to run, so she's just gonna sloooowly turn to look at him. And say nothing. Until she realizes it's been quiet for probably just a little longer than would seem normal. She stammers a little as she tries to come up with something to say, but uh, it's not working so great. ]
... Hey.
[ Yeah. Case in point. ]
Yeah. I mean. It's early.
[ ... And maybe her left bunny ear twitches a little. Cutely. jkfdsl Damn it all. ]

And, of course, he has absolutely no idea what the deal is with glitches. In fact, he won't even realize he has one until he comes across someone on the ship and finds himself oddly compelled to not only tell the truth, but to share a lot of that truth. So hey, maybe you're the lucky first one to see him in this state - or maybe you'll come across him later, and find him a tiny bit more harried while he tries to keep himself quiet and occupied with engineering work.
That is, when he's not babysitting his wife. Because that's not weird. ]

Are you busy? Could you hand me the shears from over there?
[He points across the room in an absent fashion, not bothering to really look at Glenn as he stares down at the ribbons]
:>
Yeah, a little.
[ Odd. He hadn't really thought before that response happened - it's not angry, though, or confrontational, just... truthful. Oh well. It's easy enough to shrug it off, and he does indeed grab the shears. ]
