[look, he gets it. He hates being made fun of on a good day, let alone any other day, so he's not really going to go at it until she's had time to - he doesn't know, build up defenses for his particular brand of bullshit.

Or maybe he'll give her a complete pass, he hasn't decided yet.

And Ben - Ben's arm makes one of those noises it did when the were down in the mist, only it sounds less angry and more "what the fuck" and goes completely limp while he jerks away]

[ Jayden flinches only a little when zapped, because honestly, she thinks it came from her. Her arc lightning has totally gone haywire before, it would just be one more thing to stack on the glitch pile, honestly. But when she looks over at him and see his arm essentially flip out, she realizes it's... not her. ... Oh. ]

[Ben gives his arm a poke, picking up and letting it flop back down before he sighs] Every fuckin' time.

Don't worry about it. [ She shrugs. ] Same thing happened to me before. Atroma fucked with my powers, and I was shocking pretty much everything I touched. Couldn't get my hair to stop flying away either.

[ Her lips twitch into a smile - for just a little bit. She frowns at his arm, though. ]

That... sucks. How long does that last?

[he shrugs and slides the panel free in his palm, hitting a button - nope, nothing] Hour, maybe two? Kinda like getting hit with an EMP, only I don't gotta deal with the headache.

[ She nods. ] Yeah, I've got powers. Came with the whole "woke up to help fight" thing. [ Yep, airquotes. ]

Shit, that's a while. Don't guess trying to jump it would help?

Guess if you're fightin' weird shit in Russia that'd make sense. What kinda powers? Or are they top secret?

[a snort] Nope, it's designed to shut down that way so the wires don't get fried. So I'm just stuck with it 'til it reboots on its own.

Not top secret. It's... weird space magic. I guess. The way I use it, it's like lightning.

[ She holds up a hand, and a small crackle of light blue sparks around the tips of her fingers. Then she quickly sends it away, not wanting to make his shocking glitch any worse somehow. Unintended side-effect: her rabbit ears start twitching a little bit. Whoops. ]

[don't worry, he scoots a little bit away just to be doubly safe] Space lightning? That's really cool. So you're like, what, a space wizard? Space - military wizard?

[look, he's reaching, and maybe trying to lighten the mood with his shitty jokes]
