Alien to an Alien
Who: Ulaz and you!
Broadcast: Everyone!
Action: Isakulit and SS Blameless
When: During drift
Broadcast
[Well, he does look vaguely like himself even if he's quite clearly not Galra anymore, with tanned skin and non-pointed ears. He still has the white mohawk and the markings on the side of his head appear to be... tattoos?]
Well, this is not something that I was expecting to have happen. It appears that this time, I am no longer Galra. I seem to be human.
I mean no offense to the humans here, but this is a strange experience for me. I can already tell this form is not as strong and I seem to be a little shorter? I wonder what else is different.
Action
[Ulaz can be found on the Blameless, doing his normal work in the lab and other duties he has been assigned either as part of being First Mate or taking on because of Shiro's temporary restrictions. Of course, he would also be checking on his patients or seeking out Procyon at some point to see the lovely dog.
On the Iskaulit, he was probably in the library, which wasn't exactly the most exciting. The other place he could be found was the obstacle course he used for training. After a few days of thinking this was weird, he decided to use this as a learning experience, seeing how this body differed from the one that he was used to so he was going to try and train as normal]

[But now he's wondering if his hair really does look bad like this]
I would appreciate that. A break for tea sounds good.
[The werewolves do make very good tea]
Before we leave, I will ask only one question. I take it the fact that Biffy has not been around for ice packs is a good sign?
[He had emphasized asking only one question to make sure that Lyall knew he wasn't going to continue to try and make him talk about it. Considering he had tried to insist on not being treated in the first place, he clearly didn't want a lot of attention focused on this and if his healing abilities were taking care of it, there was nothing for Ulaz to do anyway]
no subject
[Lyall will leave it at that. He is not sure if Ulaz is aware of how fast werewolves normally heal, but the fact that it is taking several days and he is still not back to normal completely is a sure sign of how severe the injuries were. Still, he is only slightly limping for now.
And he does appreciate Ulaz's discretion, hence the offer for tea as thanks.
He won't expand any further, leading the way -slowly- back to the kitchen area and then busying himself with the making of tea.]
Biffy is quite annoyed with his own glitch.
no subject
[Improvement was better than none or it worsening. He had suspected it wasn't the latter at least because he hadn't heard any concern from Biffy about Lyall's situation when he had come to get ice.
He also meant what he said about only one question. He had his answer and it was asked where others would be less likely to overhear.
He follows Lyall out of the room, slowing his pace to walk beside him, not to be rude. As Lyall set about making the tea, Ulaz walks over to the pantry]
Would you care for something?
[Since Lyall was making the tea, he could at least get food out]
no subject
[Making the tea and serving it in the nice china Biffy has acquired is a soothing ritual, and he soon has the cups, saucers, spoon, sugar and cream set out, and he brings the teapot to the table and sits before he pours.]
How do you take yours?
[Biffy probably has it memorized already, because he does that, But Lyall prefers asking just in case.]
no subject
[He isn't going to press the issue. He gets himself a snack to go with his tea and sits down. He's patient, knowing from how Biffy and Koga made tea it isn't a process to be rushed. In a way, he likes that. There was rarely a chance to just sit and think on the Galra cruiser. On the Thaldycon base, there was too much time and not enough going on aside from monitoring information that came to him.
Here he had an excuse to stop for a while, but also had others to converse with. That was the better option]
Cream. Maybe a bit of sugar if it is strong. I don't usually have a taste for it.
no subject
[He fixes both cups and pushes the one for Ulaz in front of him before raising his own and taking a sip. That's good. Tea solves everything.]
no subject
And now back to their previous conversation]
Yes, I would imagine that Biffy was not happy with his glitch. A being that can turn into a canine with feline features? It's very ironic.
no subject
[Because of course that is the most annoying part of it. Lyall will remain mum on the purring, though. Since Biffy was so embarrassed about it.]
no subject
Yes, I can see that would be troubling for him given how much attention he puts into his appearance. My clothing issues are not as great as that. I seem to be a few inches shorter so my pants are too long. Having to accommodate an unexpected tail would be worse.
no subject
[Hence why he he wearing his customary suit complete with waistcoat and perfectly tied cravat even though it's obviously still a bit painful for him to move around.]
You are still quite tall.
[Of course, Lyall himself is quite small even by human standards, because being born in the 1500s will do that to a person, so even if Ulaz is shorter than usual, the difference between them is still quite noticeable.]
no subject
[First the foot stool when finding Haggar. This would be the icing on the cake for a Galra that prided himself in not being noticed. He had managed to sneak onto Castle of Lions unnoticed. That was a feather in his cap so to speak]
I am. It's significant enough that I can see it in clothes, but I'm still tall enough that most people don't seem to have noticed.
[Ulaz is unfamiliar with relative human heights. Sure, there were averages, but then there were outliers. Not all Galra were his height after all. So he had little to compare if Lyall's height was normal. He was still shorter than him]
no subject
[So it's good he had that to rely on, or else he might really have freaked out back then when Ulaz found him.]
Are you finding it very different?
no subject
[Was that part of why Lyall had initially recoiled seeing him? He didn't look normal, but he had smelled the same?]
For the most part, it's the same. But there are subtle things that are different. My hearing is not as good; I'm not as strong or fast as I normally am; the fact that sugar actually tastes kind of good.
[He's looking at his tea as he says this last part]
no subject
That must be troublesome. Although I would think enjoying sweets balances it out somehow. Do you not normally consume it?
[Is it like werewolves where you can't digest some stuff?]
no subject

[One can always hope. Lyall hasn't checked if he has any fan messages and he hasn't gotten any sponsor drops so far but he has seen a few,and it looks like some of them are interesting.]
Do we have... any ideas how long these glitches will last?
[Since this is a .... public glitch, somehow, it might be different from the last time Biffy was glitched.]
no subject
[Ulaz hasn't checked fan messages either. It seemed odd to him that he'd have fans, but his personal funds say otherwise]
My first glitch lasted only a few days, which Biffy was happy about. I have seen them last much longer than that. I don't know if there is a maximum time though I am curious.
no subject
[This might be the first time Lyall actually expresses frustration with this state of being. but really there is only so much one's brain can take in those circumstances.]
I do suppose I should count myself lucky it wasn't anything too bad this time.
[Because apparently, being thrown back to a time he was tortured counts as 'not too bad' in Lyall's world.]
no subject
We will hope that it is not much longer. It could definitely have been worse.
[The glitch could have taken away his healing abilities too, made him deal with it like he was human again]
I can safely say I would pleased to see injuries spontaneously healing.

[After all, full moon is when a werewolf's powers are at their strongest, so it might clear up everything residual.]
no subject
[There's still so much to learn about werewolves]
no subject
[Which is why even now, he can't fathom why Alessandro chose a full moon to go confront Lord Woolsey. Not only was he preternatural, he was a hunter. He knew better.]
I am sure everything will be gone by the end of the full moon at the latest.
no subject
[And not that they had been particularly inconvenienced by the werewolves and the three required days around the full moon, but Ulaz is actually kind of looking forward to it too this time because it was, for all purposes, the best medicine Lyall can have for his injuries]
no subject
[Because really, this thing was dragging on enough. He can mostly ignore the physical pain, now, because it's just like a dull ache, but the ache is making it hard to convince is brain everything's fine now.]
Biffy said he hopes I am the one to get ears and a tail next time.
no subject
Does he now? Because of how different it is from this?
