It's Party Time [ Open ]
Who: Jim Kirk & You!
Broadcast: Nope
Action: Yes, Planet-side @ Alloy Lake
When: Sometime in the evening
While it wasn't broadcasted, between how many people were told and the fact it wasn't exactly a private affair on a very public beach, anyone was welcome to come to this little shindig. Kirk's feelings were mostly that they all could use a break and a chance to relax together as friends, family, teammates, or any other word you chose to assign to the relationships you had on the Fleet. It was a nice break from working in projects too. It was nice to have something to occupy yourself in a creative and useful way, but it was always a good idea to take a break and refresh the brain now and then.
Which was how he came to the idea of a party on Alloy Lake.
He scouted a scrap of land near the water to set up on - beach towels, a cooler with drinks, a mocked up grill to cook some food. He went out later in the afternoon to start with more than enough light to enjoy some swimming, though it would be dark soon enough for certain members to join without being uncomfortable. At which point, a bonfire was built. What? A lack of sunlight is never a reason to stop partying! Especially not with such good company.
[ ooc: It's a party on the beach! Make your own starters and have some fun! There's drinks - alcoholic and non - food, a couple of games or make your own, a bonfire later in the night with of course means some kind of smore, swimming, and more. In terms of invite, you can assume you were directly told by Kirk, or told by someone else, or the grapevine. It's open to all, so don't worry to much about it. Have fun! ]

I don't know how healthy that would be...
[He was wary.]
Have you tried it?
no subject
It tastes good.
[Well lots tastes good to him. He just likes food.]
no subject
He took a small piece.]
I guess I'll give a try.
[He continued along, investigating more items as he went.]
So, are you a friend of Jim's?
no subject
And even with the mask on his face it's easy to read his confusion.]
...Jim?
[Yeah he has no idea who that is.]
no subject
[Granted, it wasn't like this was a private party, but, still... Keith was kind of curious how this guy ended up here.]
no subject
no subject
So, uh... how did you hear about the party, then?
no subject
[Which should be impossible due to the distance and obstacles in the way. Yet he appears to be quite serious about his answer.]
no subject
Keith nodded.]
Oh, okay... that's coo-... wait. [There it was.] Did you say from the shops?
no subject
Yes.
[That's definitely what he said. Did he not hear him right?]
no subject
[Keith looked confused.]
You meant something else, right?
no subject
No. I can see it.
[He seems serious.]
no subject
[Keith was curious...]
no subject
Yes.
[Hmmm...maybe he could offer more clarity.]
And the people in them.
[Which he's somehow doing with a mask that only has painted eye holes rather than real ones...]
no subject
Magic?
[Because, really... what else, right?]
no subject
The Dragon Eyes.
[That's how. Totally not magic.]
no subject
[Keith was pretty sure dragons were magic... unless they were like those ones that the cat-people race rode on... nah.]
That's, yeah... sounds magic to me.
no subject
Dragon eyes.]
no subject
[Keith was probably not as surprised by this reveal as some others might be. After all, he was used to seeing some pretty alien looking races by now.]
no subject
[And that's the truth. Kija tries to explain it but he still doesn't know how it fully works yet.]
no subject
That happens.
[He didn't know he was part Galra until he activated his mom's blade, so... He understood.]
no subject
I just learned that I am one of the Dragons. Not long ago. Kija has been trying to teach me about them.
[Trying. Kija can get...excited. Which makes it very hard to follow.]
no subject
It's weird, right? Finding something like that out. It wasn't that long ago that I found out I'm half-Galra.
no subject
Were people scared of you?
[That question is clear for what that means for Shin-Ah's situation. People have been terrified of this gentle personality in the past.]
no subject
Well, when I first found out, it was scary for me. I was nervous of what everyone else would think.
Back home, at that point, we were fighting against the Galra. To find out that I was related to them was kind of a shock.
Most of the team was confused, and started treating me a little differently. They had even more questions that I didn't have the answers to. But, one of us... she... kind of suddenly hated me for a while.
Well, I don't know if she really hated me, but... she was angry. I don't know if she thought I had betrayed or kept it secret from her on purpose, or what. I mean, I had no idea. But it was awkward for a while.
