Marsiva
[Lord Akeldama had woken not long before. He didn't feel quite like himself. He couldn't tell what was doing it more: the strange pain in the back of his head or the fact that he had essentially been ripped from his territory.

It was... different still somehow than it normally would have been.

He didn't necessarily feel like trying out this new gadget they had been given just yet so he stood by the large window looking into the blackness of space. He had always looked at it from the ground. This is what it looked like up close]


First Breath
[All of this moving around was not doing the vampire any good. Didn't they know that a vampire needed his territory in order to be settled. First one ship and now another. This was most inconvenient.

Hopefully, the moving between ships had stopped. He needed a few days to settle in, for his head to accept this ship has "his territory". He'd do better once that happens.

However, this other ship seemed to be more to his liking. The style wasn't quite what he'd do with his own house, but it was close enough and he wasn't going to scoff at it. So much better than that other ship.

So rather sitting alone in that tiny room they called a cabin, Lord Akeldama made his way to kitchen, sitting quietly by himself for the moment]

[Finally feeling more the thing, Lord Akeldama decided to go exploring this ship called "the Iskaulit". It certainly looked like there was more space there than on the other ships. He was right about that and was quite happy to go exploring, to see what sort of spaces there were available to the Fleeters.

He's probably not too subtle, dressed in plum colored evening jacket, gold waistcoat, high heeled boots, and a cravat of a different shade of purple that still seemed to compliment both the waistcoat and the jacket]

Good afternoon, fellow passengers of this thing called "the Fleet". As I understand it, we are all trapped this positively wonderful place as part of a farce. Am I correct in this assessment? Is there anything else that I should know?

Yes, I suppose boxing provides more of a thrill than fencing does. But you are less likely to loose teeth when losing a fencing match.

There are other words for it, but that seems to fit best. The constitution of a vampire doesn't do well to change of location. We have our territory. Leaving our territory always leaves one fuzzy, though given the distance, this going far better than I expected.

Well, I can’t argue that, though I still feel like I would prefer a bunch to a stab.

Hopefully that’s not to difficult an adjustment. Atroma seems to be able to shield people from some of those affects, but not everything.

I am doing a touch better now, thank you. I spent the first few days on my ship to acclimate to the new surrounding and start thinking of it as my territory. It is better once I start to think of it that way. As long as I do not need to move in the future.

Hey, whatever you need to do. If you've never been in space or a ship before, it's quite an adjustment, and I know Atroma is not very forthcoming with good answers when you wake up on the Marsiva. We use to have welcome packages. Did you get one at all?

Never been to space nor on a ship, darling, space bound or water bound. Not that I have found an interest in wanting to travel, but this is an adjustment for both. A welcome package? I do not recall receiving such.

Well, I can't fix the welcome package part, unfortunately, but I can answer any questions you have. And help get you anything you might need. Supplies are a bit... odd ball on this planet, but it does make it easier to set yourself up until your first "paycheck" comes through.

Working on it, darling. Working on it. My clothing selection is not up to its usual glory and I've had to spend a few days on my ship to come to associate it with "home". Traveling is impossible normally with vampires you see, especially for one my age.

Atroma does like defying normal. As well as basic decency and sentient rights, but take the silver linings where you can, right?

If I might ask - why is it normally impossible for a vampire to travel?

[Being a vampire is normal in his society so he's not looking to cause shock with that knowledge]

You see, vampires are connected - tethered is the word we use - to a location. A hive queen for example, she can't leave her house. Her associated underlings have a bit more range, but still close to their queen except in dire circumstances. The only difference is the praetoriani. He can move furthest from their queen on a regular basis if only to seek threats before they arrive.

Roves, like myself, have the most freedom. I have a large portion of London town at my fingertips, but still I must return to my home.

Moving outside ones territory can be dangerous to ones health.

Well, as I am sure you know by now, you're a long way from London town. Hopefully that's not causing you too many issues. Other than your wardrobe situation.

There's nothing for it though until we make a way station or a planet, unfortunately. You'll have to beg, steal, and borrow until then. But I'll be happy to take you down to whichever we make first - give you a shuttle lesson along the way.

Begging and stealing are not in my nature and I'd be cautious about borrowing. But I suppose I will have to make do.
