Marsiva
[Lord Akeldama had woken not long before. He didn't feel quite like himself. He couldn't tell what was doing it more: the strange pain in the back of his head or the fact that he had essentially been ripped from his territory.

It was... different still somehow than it normally would have been.

He didn't necessarily feel like trying out this new gadget they had been given just yet so he stood by the large window looking into the blackness of space. He had always looked at it from the ground. This is what it looked like up close]

First Breath
[All of this moving around was not doing the vampire any good. Didn't they know that a vampire needed his territory in order to be settled. First one ship and now another. This was most inconvenient.

Hopefully, the moving between ships had stopped. He needed a few days to settle in, for his head to accept this ship has "his territory". He'd do better once that happens.

However, this other ship seemed to be more to his liking. The style wasn't quite what he'd do with his own house, but it was close enough and he wasn't going to scoff at it. So much better than that other ship.

So rather sitting alone in that tiny room they called a cabin, Lord Akeldama made his way to kitchen, sitting quietly by himself for the moment]

Isakulit
[Finally feeling more the thing, Lord Akeldama decided to go exploring this ship called "the Iskaulit". It certainly looked like there was more space there than on the other ships. He was right about that and was quite happy to go exploring, to see what sort of spaces there were available to the Fleeters.

He's probably not too subtle, dressed in plum colored evening jacket, gold waistcoat, high heeled boots, and a cravat of a different shade of purple that still seemed to compliment both the waistcoat and the jacket]

[Lord Akeldama has found himself a rather pleasing looking spot to make his post. It wouldn't do to have it look poorly behind him after]

Good afternoon, fellow passengers of this thing called "the Fleet". As I understand it, we are all trapped this positively wonderful place as part of a farce. Am I correct in this assessment? Is there anything else that I should know?

[...And strangely, it's slightly out of her frame of reference. Some sort of avian, she presumes. She's been called worse. Unless this newcomer was using fancy language to insult her, but he didn't seem exactly the type.]

[Almost, but she created this ditch herself, so she accepts responsibility.]

[He smiles, his fangs slightly more visible, but not anything a vampire would classify as threatening]

"Almost"? Not completely curious?

Almost.

[But there's a hint of humor in it, this time, something that relaxes her severity. True, it was difficult to--care, but a certain someone told her it was important to at least attempt to not have a completely grim bearing. Especially to someone sharing their space, whether or not he chose to remain.]

You seem to have put thought to it, however, so I will indulge it.

[She'll find it is very hard to be serious around Lord Akeldama and he's not intending to go to a different ship]

Evening skies must have been used because-

[He doesn't even really explain just waves to the ship around them. Clearly he didn't mean the ship, but the fact that they were in space]

And starlings are such colorful creatures. Iridescent feathers. The colors you are wearing did so remind me some species of them.

[Of course he had only seen them in books and occasionally outside if the setting sun and their late departure for the evening lined up to allow it. He didn't want creatures that came from eggs in his house]

They are also reputed to be be very intelligent for birds. Much better to be thought similar to an intelligent bird than one that cannot tell up from down.

Is that so.

[Was it meant to be... flattering, then...?

She was not used to that sort of nickname, so it takes a few moments for his explanation to sink in. How... odd. How odd indeed.]

How... thoughtful of you to take that into account.

Of course, my dear starling. It would be so ungentlemanly to not take everything into account when considering someone's name.

[He's a polite, if eccentric, vampire]

[She can't complain, not with the veritable gauntlet of things she has been called already, as much as she's brought it on herself. Even if it's still odd.]

[Her gaze briefly drops to the cat.] ... With Kova that would be six, but he is not on the roster, of course.

And this is small for the ships here? I do not know it compares.

[He looks at Kova as well] He is certainly a member of the crew even if those who brought us here don't believe that he is.

It is a low number, when the ship itself can accommodate twice as much.

[Not that she minds terribly, quiet and under the radar was just fine with her.]

As far as it compares to the other rosters... it may put us closer to average where some ships are concerned. [A low average, but she didn't think any had less than five.] People do move from time to time, whether it is because they want to, or because the Atroma decide to do so for them.

Hmm... I am used to more activity, but perhaps one with a bit less will be better at this time. I am still unsure how being moved around will play on my health.

I can assure that I don't plan on moving, however.

Our "hosts" likely have some measure in place for you to remain functional physically, if you have a health concern.

[So forward thinking of the Atroma, really.]

If there is a medication you require, they may already have provided it to our storage.

It seems they do. I am beginning to notice they have accommodated for my... I suppose unusual needs.

Oh, dear, traditional medicines will not help. This is essentially my mind trying to find it's place in a new location. Time will help more than medicine. Besides, if I am injured, I assure you I don't need to be worried about.

[She was only mentioning it out of courtesy, really.]

You may find yourself with more time than you expect, if you are used to a busier life.

Well, for myself... not so busy, but my drone-y-poos keep my humble abode exciting.

[He earns the very slightest of shrugs for that deduction.]

Oh, and the captain too? I wouldn't have thought the captain would be a medical officer.

It would be very unlikely you will see me in that regard. Vampires are immortal and nearly impossible to mortally injure.

They are merely assignments designated to us by our captors. In the end, they matter little.

[She does not think Loki cares much for his designation, otherwise he would not have made his bid for Captaincy.

Still, that's quite a bold claim.]

I suppose that is true. But given what I know of military forces, the captain usually is not a medical officer; I was taken aback.

[He doesn't much care for his designation, but it seems to suit him at least]

There is one thing capable of killing a vampire. If it is not this object, a vampire can heal from injuries in a matter of minutes to hours on their own. Provided one is not suffering from starvation, mind you. Like it never happened.

You are correct. In this case, however, the designation of "Captain" can be assigned at random or to whomever desires that position. Loki comes from a race of gods, so of course, he would act accordingly to ensure his elevation here.

[Better him doing so than her, but she was accustomed to having a minimized role, for all she could do.

As for the information he provides, she does find that very interesting. Especially since he is being mostly forthcoming about himself. Or perhaps simply proud of his circumstances. Bad movies and human textbooks were not really as informative, but she did know a bit about... energy dependency.]

So as long as your surroundings remain stable as well as your diet, you would remain content and not pose a danger to others?

Well, it makes perfect sense that a god would want such status, even if it is hardly what should be afforded.

Exactly, my dear. I am gentleman and a gentleman who is also a vampire does not go about biting willy-nilly. It is unseemly and would have all of the gossip rags talking.

You would have more to be concerned about than just bad... publicity. One could hope that our hosts are cognizant of that and will not seek to disrupt you any further than you have been.

[Granted, if they wanted ratings, the hosts would do what they wanted depending on circumstances, and were not to be trusted with anything. Therefore:]

I hope not, my dear. The move between the Marsiva to here has caused me to be fuzzy, but it is not as bad as I would have thought.

They have provided me with these- [He pulls out a small pill from his waistcoat pocket] little things to replace my need to drink blood. They seem to work sufficiently enough. I should notice if they start not being capable, I will need to find a donor.

I am old enough to know when that is happening.

I would suggest that you get some plans together as soon as possible.

[As much as those could also be disrupted by any means, but this isn't the S.S. Paranoia for nothing.]
