[There's that up-to-something smile again, only softened by the affectionate contact.]

This plant is called mistletoe. And in some countries on Earth, when two people meet under it, they kiss.

[The Vision blinks, looking startled.] That is mistletoe? [He squints up at it, momentarily distracted. He'd heard of the stuff, but somehow imagined it wouldn't look so much like tree boogers. And how did it get up there, anyway?

He turns his face back to Wanda, still frowning, but inside he's laughing and he knows she can sense it. He speaks in a tone that would seem stern if it weren't for the humorous undercurrent.]

Wanda Maximoff, did you put mistletoe in my doorway to have an excuse to kiss me?

[Wanda does laugh, completely unfazed. She knows he's teasing.]

I didn't put it there, but if it's another chance to kiss you... [She shrugs, unapologetic.] How could I not?

[And she will absolutely do this again if the opportunity presents itself.]

[He makes a harrumph noise, but he's not even pretending not to smile at this point.] An invasive species, then. Perhaps we should investigate and make certain it isn't taking over the whole ship.

[But hey, a rule is a rule, and this one says you have to kiss if you're under the mistletoe. So in a sudden move that would probably frighten anyone without psychic abilities, he swoops Wanda down for a deep, passionate kiss - then just as suddenly break it off and smirk.]

Does that satisfy the tradition?

[Wanda kisses him back with equal passion, a small soft sound escaping her as he pulls away.]

Hmmmmm... [The mistletoe's sudden appearance has put her in a rare playful mood and Wanda's smirk spreads into a satisfied grin.] I think so.

[But that won't stop her from stealing a quick, softer kiss before she offers the package.]

[It's heavier than its size would suggest and beneath the tissue paper within is a large, heart-shaped golden crystal formation with several small plants at the center. How could she see it and not think of him? The crystals match the Mind Stone - a beautiful heart for the most beautiful heart she knows. And he does love plants.]

[Intrigued by how heavy it is, the Vision unwraps the package carefully and doesn't hide his delighted smile when he sees what's inside. He touches first the stone and then the plants carefully.]

It's beautiful, Wanda. The color is perfect, and the succulents will thrive with minimal care. Should it go in our room, do you think? Or outside in the main gardens?

[Also, it totally deserves another kiss. That mistletoe sure is causing a lot of this!]

[Wanda beams at him. She'd hoped he would like it, but as always his actual reaction puts her imagination to shame.

It's not a Sokovian tradition, but Wanda's pretty sure if they stay under the mistletoe, they can kiss as much as they want and then blame it on the plant.]

I thought we could keep it in our room. You like having plants around, yes?

I do. I find I like being surrounded by living things.

[He reaches up to pluck the mistletoe from the doorway, frowning at it. Good thing he's tall.]

Ought we to put this in our room as well, then?

[She nods mock-seriously, barely able to keep a straight face.]

We can't let other people get trapped under it. But it will be safe with us.

[unbearablynaive]

Indeed. And has it taken over the entire ship? Must we be on the lookout for more invasive species?

[Translation: more excuses to make out in semi-public places?]

It's our duty as Avengers, yes? To protect the ship from invaders?

We should make sure there isn't more of it.

[Translation: Absolutely.]

Let's hunt it down, then, after securing this specimen in our quarters along with this lovely gift.

[And if he gets distracted finding the perfect place for his new rock garden, well, she can always bring out the mistletoe to keep him on track. Priorities.]

[She grins and takes his arm, pressed much closer to Vision's side than she walks with him planetside.]

Do you know where you want to put it?

Hmm. It should lay flat rather than on a wall, shouldn't it? [Or perhaps angled slightly up? He looks down again at the crystal in his hands, smiling. The facets would look best in uneven lighting, and while having regular candles lit for very long on the ship isn't a great idea, there are always alternatives.]

What about on top of the bookshelf [it's a low shelf and doesn't have a whole lot of print books, but it's still a bookshelf] next to the silicone candles?

I think that would look nice.

[She smiles. She'd support him putting it pretty much anywhere, though.]

You know, the store where I found this had planters that go on the wall. I almost got one, but then I saw this.

[Oh, look what happens to be hanging in this doorway. Wanda grins and pauses beneath it with a pointed look upwards.]

[This time he presses her up against the doorframe and lingers a little longer than strictly necessary. After all, they are headed to their room with magical kissing plants. Gotta start somewhere.]

[She giggles and winds her arms around him, quite pleased with this display of passion.]
