[ It had worked, and yep, here they are! He's stuck where he's standing, and Taako's being all sly and coy about it, and apparently the way out is... ]

Kiss someone, huh?

[ Oh, is that all? A slow smile spreads across his face. He still has his arms crossed, but he definitely seems less like he's braced for bad news. 'Cause, seriously, as if he'd have a problem with that, of all things! ]

I don't know, that seems like a tall order... [ He's clearly joking. ] But I'll take it. You want to help me out of here, Taako?

[ Now it's his turn to feel a little nervous - things have been going well for them, so he really shouldn't be so worried! But, well, he guesses he can't help it if he gets butterflies in his stomach whenever Taako's involved. ]

Mmmmmaybe.

[Yes, dumbo, that was the entire point of him wasting an afternoon flinging plants at his maybe-boyfriend(?)'s face. And once his butt. That had been a critical fumble on the throw, but had resulted in an amusing little bounce.

But Kravitz seems open to the idea and, well, he's committed at this point. Can't just say it was a joke and then leave the reaper to sit here until someone else kisses his ridiculously handsome face.]

One thing: is your face as cold as your hands? Because if so?

[Time to take the plunge and say fuck it to caution. Kravitz is from that weird point in the future where things are, well, different. Not in a bad way, but in a different way. It sets Taako on edge, makes him worry that if he says or does the wrong thing that maybe the future Kravitz knows won't come to pass. What had he done on all the dates they'd had that Taako has no recollection of to make the reaper act so...happy? With him? Of all people? Taako, the penultimate asshole wizard, somehow managed to charm someone as nerdy and gorgeous as an immortal servant of the Raven Queen.

But how?

He had no idea. He could only act like his instinct told him and right now? That instinct said to kiss the stupid reaper and suffer the possibility of doing something wrong and fucking this all up. It was better than not.

So Taako takes a big step forward, right into Kravitz's personal space and grabs his lapels.]

You better heat it up fast.

[ Yeeeaaah, the pieces pretty easily fall into place once the secret to breaking out of this weird curse-thing is revealed. Taako totally did this on purpose. And he is not at all surprised!

But he is caught off-guard once Taako pretty much swoops in close. It surprises a small laugh out of him, and he trips over his own words a little bit before he can finally manage some kind of response. ]

I-- Wh-- Hold on.

[ Yeah, okay, so more often than not, his face is cold, too - not as cold as his hands! But still cold. At least unlike the one particular time he can think of (that Taako hasn't been through yet), he can keep it from being weird!

Though clearly, he's gotta act fast. It helps that with Taako this close, grabbing him by the lapels like that and leaning in with that devious, gorgeous smirk on his face, a bit of heat is already rising right into his cheeks. Still, he cups his hands in front of his mouth, exhales a few times, and hopes that'll be enough to do the trick. ]

There - good enough?

[What. A nerd. What a glorious, devilishly handsome, absolutely fabulous nerd. Taako waits while he uses his breath to heat up his face, a grin spreading from ear to ear despite himself. It's hard to wait since he's been psyching himself up for this exact moment basically all day, but wait he does. He lets his fingers play with Kravitz's clothes a little, inching him ever closer, and then he leans in as soon as Kravitz lowers his hands. He sounds a lot more confident than he feels right now.]

Let's find out, shall we?

[In the grand scheme of things, it isn't some earth-shattering event, no world-ending thing, but to Taako, it is. He's not just trying to do a casual hook-up or a one time fling with this guy. Kravitz is, first of all, deadly as fuck and all the hotter for it, but he's also weirdly sweet and considerate. He hasn't been pushing since revealing that he's from the future, even if his manners and his attitude toward Taako are hard to misinterpret. He'd gone from shy and a little hopeful from the last time Taako saw him on the moon base, to outright bursting at the seams any time Taako called when they met again here. And still, he'd waited.

He's never had anyone wait like that for him. He still isn't sure he deserves it.

And sure, his face is still a little bit on the chilly side, but Taako couldn't care less as he presses their lips together. It's good and it's a feeling Taako hasn't had in a long, long time. And maybe he does deserve this, just a little bit. He can at least pretend he does until it inevitably collapses around him - which is a problem for future Taako. Right now, he just wants to enjoy this and he pulls Kravitz closer, closing his eyes and letting him just be in this moment.]

[ Of course he waited. And he will waitm as long as it takes. He's been aching to tell Taako just how much he means to him, how much he adores him, that he's the light of his life, and-- and everything else. If he wasn't being so careful, he'd probably have let all of it come spilling out at some point, just... a flood of feelings. And though he'd mean every word of it, he'd never want to push any of it on Taako.

But here they are now, with Kravitz literally at Taako's mercy while Taako grins like the cat who caught the canary - because why wouldn't he when clearly his clever little plan has totally worked - and it feels... right. Everything just fits. He swears his heart is about to beat its way out of his chest the closer Taako leans in, and when they kiss, it's like he's falling for him all over again. His eyes close, his arms find their way around him, and he lets hiself live in the moment - just this moment.

He's reluctant to pull away, but he does - just a little, just so he can smile at Taako, let himself get lost in those eyes just like he'd done before - like he'll probably do hundreds and hundreds of times more. Couldn't fight it if he tried. ]

Hm. I'm pretty sure that worked.

[ He says it pretty absently. It's not like he's actually making a move to try leaving or anything. Because honestly, he'd be just fine staying right here with him for a little bit longer. ]

[Kravitz pulls away and Taako leans in a little, trying to chase after him before reluctantly settling back on his heels. Yeah, okay, that went well? It went a fuckload better than he thought it might and now he's being held and that's a weird sensation. Not bad, exactly, but weird in that he's not trying to get away.

He's too close to look at Kravitz properly without going cross-eyed, so he settles for concentrating on first his lips and, once that gets too distracting, on the mistletoe lying ineffectually on the ground. He knows it's probably finished its freaky voyeur thing and released them, but he doesn't have to tell Kravitz that.]

I dunno, my man. We might want to try again. Just to make sure.

[ That went quite well, yes, and Kravitz can't stop smiling about it. He does glance down at the mistletoe for a second too, almost expecting it to look a little different -- but of course it doesn't. ... The whole plant thing is just weird, Kravitz decides, and that's all there is to it.

But the suggestion of trying again? That brings the glint in his eyes right back, and is attention is of course right back on Taako. ]

Yeah. We should. Just in case.

[ He doesn't even pretend to think it over. He leans in once more, gently tugs him just that little bit closer and draws him into another kiss. ]

[Normally, Taako wouldn't let himself get carried away like this. People he found attractive were just that: attractive and nothing else. He never really thought about anything beyond the immediate, but, well, Kravitz was kind of a special case, wasn't he? Taako didn't especially feel like rushing into things and calling it a day once he got bored with him. The way he acted, the dumb things he said, the way he'd been so shy about asking whether their first "date" was just business or pleasure - he was different. He wasn't coming to Taako for something in particular except for him being as honest as he could be with him.

It was weird, but also refreshing.

And it was fucking cute that his face was warming up the longer they kissed. Taako pulls back after a long moment, realizing that at some point, he'd slid his arms around Kravitz's waist He gives the reaper a lopsided grin and then pokes him in the side.]

You keep doing that and I'm gonna have a hard time going home tonight.

[ So far, Kravitz had been so worried about messing something up, about acting too fast or saying the wrong thing at the wrong time -- he's starting to think that maybe he accidentally overcompensated and worried too much. (Go figure.) But, you know, leave it to Taako to just push through all of that, effortlessly - no, flawlessly, let's be real, it's Taako. Kravitz is just... happy. Relieved.

Taako pulls away, pokes him in the side - and he does jump a little, mostly because he wasn't expecting it. He quirks an eyebrow, a grin of his own tugging at the edge of his lips. ]

Well, you know, no one's saying you have to go home tonight. If you don't want to.

[Wait.

Wait.

Taako's brain stutters as the smile spreads across Kravitz's face, followed by a warm flush across his face. He honestly hadn't expected that to work? Kravitz has been acting the gentleman, taking things slow and easy and it's been both endearing and utterly infuriating because Taako hasn't wanted to push too hard, say the wrong thing, go with his usual rush toward the finish line in case it messed things up. The future was always fluid, and there was a constant fear that if he does something wrong here, even outside of time as they are, he might really fuck things up for himself in Kravitz's timeline.

But?

Apparently that isn't an issue since this gorgeous man in front of him just actually invited him to stay over after he jokingly (only not really) teased him about it.

Taako stares at Kravitz for a moment, and his brain kick-starts again and he grins wide.]

Given the option of a hooking up with my hottie and driving back alone?

[He reaches up and grabs the lapels of his jacket, pulling Kravitz in tight against him.]

Fuck yeah I'm staying. You have no idea how hard it's been trying to behave with you. I hope you're ready for me to rock your damn world.

[ It's... pretty rare that Kraviz can surprise people (outside of, you know, bounty hunting, but that's different), let alone "I am shameless and will promptly just escalate it" Taako here... but that adorable blush definitely makes him want to try again in the future~ But he's just gonna file that thought away for later. Right now? He's being yanked forward by his ridiculous, impulsive, and incredibly attractive boyfriend, so obviously he has higher priorities. He laughs a little - he can't help it. ]

Funny you should mention that - I've been trying to behave with you... [ And also the whole, you know, not wanting to push because ~future~ thing but anyway!! His grin just gets all the wider. ] So yeah, I'd say I'm ready.

[ They should prooobably move to his room, honestly, but first things first? They're so close, he can't not lean in and kiss him again. Seriously, he's right there. ]

Bubelah, if you're really from the future, you should know you never have to behave with me.

[Unless the Reaper is into some freaky weird bone fetish thing, Taako doubts he's going to be that surprised. And even if he is?

Well, Taako's down to try anything at least once.

Twice if he needed a second chance to make up his mind.

And just to bring that point home? As Kravitz leans in to kiss him again, Taako is a whole lot less chaste about it, biting at his lower lip as he pushes Kravitz back. He's been really good up until now and he's been on a loooong dry spell, so fuck being polite. He's going to shag his boyfriend's brains out.]
