Training Day
Who: Kolivan and YOU
Broadcast: Nope
Action: On the Iskaulit
When: Today!
[Kolivan has been getting more familiar with locations here but one thing is clear...he needs to keep up with his own personal training. This may be a peaceful time here but he knows there are dangerous people already in this place. People he needs to prepare himself for should they decide to be anything less than peaceful.
So he's either in the gym or the obstacle course when he's not attending to his duties on the ship he was assigned. It means he's not asleep much but then again it's not like he is one to spend much time at rest. Not when he feels that there is a very real danger he needs to be prepared for. Just in case. Because he doesn't ever want to be caught off guard again and overwhelmed. He wants to be able to face his foes head on and not lose.
This also means it's easy enough to come across him and even if he doesn't look your way instantly it seems rather clear that he already knows you're there. Like he sensed your arrival. But it's only when he's finished a series of complex movements (with his sword and legs in the gym or through the more complicated area of the obstacle course) that he actually acknowledges you.]
Do you need something?
[It's gruff but...he's always like this. Don't mind him.]

But you’re not most Galra, and still not answering my question.

[ Kirk squints slightly. Interesting. He plays over the last minute or so in his head. Ah. Okay. So, Vulcan with this one. ]
So you wouldn’t even show me the most basic of your moves, because you’ve already decided I cannot learn them. Based on what I can only assume is my stature.
Sound about right so far?
[ He continued with his stretching, moving on to his arms. ]

Human, yes. For the most part. And doubly reinforced via Atroma’s upgrades. You also wouldn’t be the first non-human species I will have fought in my life - generally not because I want to, but that’s life in space. Took down a god, once. That was an interesting report to make.
[ He gave Kolivan a “what can you do” gesture while pulling his elbow for a stretch. ]

[Basically, he has no reason to prove himself here. Nor is he impressed with what has been said. End of story.]

[ Correction. More Klingon than Vulcan. He really needed to work on not letting his pride get the better of him. But that was another day. ]
Don’t know if it’s really proving much. I was only going to suggest a potential spar. It’s hard enough to find partners, especially new ones, and variety is important.
[ A beat, looking up at Kolivan (how else was his supposed to look?). ]
You’re a serious sort, aren’t you?

Eventually he decides to ignore it.]
If you wish to spar then I will not go easy on you.

[ Right, serious sort it is. ]
It wouldn't be very helpful if you went easy on me. What would you or I gain from that?
[ He thought he could give the other a least somewhat noteworthy workout, and it would be a good chance to really put his upgrades through the test. They hadn't really had many battle situations since he had gotten them, and Kolivan seemed like the perfect sort to put them through the paces. ]

[That's all the warning that the man gets before Kolivan rushes at him faster than his large size should allow for. He makes sure to flip his weapon away but he does throw a fist right at his head, not bothering to hold back on something that if it connects it'll leave one hell of a bruise.]

[ Okay. Fast. First thing Kirk realizes, and it takes him somewhat by surprise. Flexibility he had imagined, but the speed was definitely a shock. Still, it wasn't anything he couldn't deal with. There wasn't going to be any dodging though. He wasn't fast enough. Besides, this was a good chance to test out Atroma's little upgrades for real. Quickly he brought his arms up for a block, grunting as he took the blow, flowing with the force to the side. Yeah. Definitely going to bruise. He didn't wait to see if Kolivan followed up, dropping down and lashing out with a sweeping kick. ]

[ For a sparring match, the guy seemed to enjoy going for a knockout right off. Kirk had begun to rise, Kolivan's kick coming in fast enough that it caught his shoulder, Kirk barely managing to jerk his head out of the way and throwing himself back. The kick sent him rolling. He flowed with the momentum, using the final roll to gain his feet and push back up into a defensive position. ]
