[Kolivan has been getting more familiar with locations here but one thing is clear...he needs to keep up with his own personal training. This may be a peaceful time here but he knows there are dangerous people already in this place. People he needs to prepare himself for should they decide to be anything less than peaceful.

So he's either in the gym or the obstacle course when he's not attending to his duties on the ship he was assigned. It means he's not asleep much but then again it's not like he is one to spend much time at rest. Not when he feels that there is a very real danger he needs to be prepared for. Just in case. Because he doesn't ever want to be caught off guard again and overwhelmed. He wants to be able to face his foes head on and not lose.

This also means it's easy enough to come across him and even if he doesn't look your way instantly it seems rather clear that he already knows you're there. Like he sensed your arrival. But it's only when he's finished a series of complex movements (with his sword and legs in the gym or through the more complicated area of the obstacle course) that he actually acknowledges you.]

Do you need something?

[It's gruff but...he's always like this. Don't mind him.]

[Veronica was only walking by when she caught a glimpse of movement, and had to pause to watch Kolivan navigate the obstacle course. She's met him before, sort of, if very briefly, and has little knowledge of the Blades. Frankly, that deep-seated fear of Galra is still there, and despite the fact that she knows he's on their side, she's still...uneasy. Not quite afraid, but certainly not comfortable.

Still, she has to admit there's a fluidity and beauty to the way he moves. Far better than any human she's seen, anyway. Veronica blushes slightly when she's caught staring, and looks down, rubbing the back of her neck.]

Oh, um...no, no, I uh... I was walking by. Don't let me bother you.

You weren't.

[He sheathes his sword at his side then lets his attention move to her. One of the human allies. Lance's sister. She has right to be nervous around Galra after what happened to her so he doesn't even question the aura of tension coming from her.]

If you wish to watch then I don't mind.

[She thinks it's the eyes that unsettle her. Pupiless. Not to mention Kolivan is impossible to read. Veronica rubs her arm awkwardly and gives a small nod.]

If you don't mind, then I'd like to observe.

[Partially for the benefit of learning more about the Galra and the Blades, at least as much as is possible from this sort of behavior. The Blades intrigue Veronica, and she's still looking to discover what is it about them that has made them separate from the Empire.]

I don't.

[Just to confirm what he's already said. And since she wishes to watch, he returns to what he'd been doing, training as if she isn't there at all. His mask goes up and he immediately starts fighting an invisible opponent with the same fluid motions he'd been using before.

She's certainly getting a show even if that isn't what he's intending.]

[Veronica stays quiet, not wanting to interrupt. Kolivan is a sight to watch, and she admires his grace. Almost catlike, she thinks to herself with a small smile. And absolutely breathtaking.

If Garrison soldiers could fight like Blades, they'd have the universe saved in no time at all.]

[This time he moves until he finishes the set, cutting through an invisible enemy with deadly precision. Taking in a breath to calm himself, he straightens. It's not the same without a partner but it will suffice until he can be training with his Blades again.

He looks to Veronica.]

You are the sister of the Paladin, Lance.

[She can tell that there's something missing to it, likely another party, but it looks beautiful all the same, and Veronica enjoys the observation. It's what she's good at, drawing data from observations, and she wishes she had her proper datapad to actually record it.

She is almost disappointed when he completes the set and turns to her, though she's intensely curious to learn more about him at the same time.]

That's me. I'm Veronica.

Having more allies with useful skills will be beneficial here.

[He's not familiar with her skills really but he does know she's a part of the garrison. That means that she must be able to contribute something to the cause. Besides, allies of the Paladins are his allies as well.]

[She nods in agreement. Kolivan seems very brusque and frankly scary-looking, but he's on their side. That's somewhat comforting, and she even offers a small smile.]

Agreed. It's nice to meet you properly.

You don't have to hide your discomfort around me. The Galra did a great deal of damage to your world. Looking upon one will not be easy.

[And he's just...used to it. It's not easy but he just lets it happen. He's dealt with it for too long now.]

[That's not what she expected to hear.]

It's not. [There's no point in hiding that.] But you're not Sendak.

No. I have never been like Sendak.

[The way his frown grows shows how he feels about that particular Galra.]
