[Kolivan has been getting more familiar with locations here but one thing is clear...he needs to keep up with his own personal training. This may be a peaceful time here but he knows there are dangerous people already in this place. People he needs to prepare himself for should they decide to be anything less than peaceful.

So he's either in the gym or the obstacle course when he's not attending to his duties on the ship he was assigned. It means he's not asleep much but then again it's not like he is one to spend much time at rest. Not when he feels that there is a very real danger he needs to be prepared for. Just in case. Because he doesn't ever want to be caught off guard again and overwhelmed. He wants to be able to face his foes head on and not lose.

This also means it's easy enough to come across him and even if he doesn't look your way instantly it seems rather clear that he already knows you're there. Like he sensed your arrival. But it's only when he's finished a series of complex movements (with his sword and legs in the gym or through the more complicated area of the obstacle course) that he actually acknowledges you.]

Do you need something?

[It's gruff but...he's always like this. Don't mind him.]

[He lifts his arm to show that it's bandaged.]

This is from training with one of them earlier.

It's good to see they're staying on top of their game.

[Cyril says, grinning. He doesn't seem worried because Kolivan seems the type to take care of any wounds properly.]

Of course. I would expect nothing less of my Blades.

[Kolivan lowers his arm again.]

They must be the best at all times. I have already seen what happens when I make a mistake. I need them to be able to survive should I fall. They have to be strong.

[He looks down, his eyes narrowing. That deep regret is written all over his face.]

[samahl]

[That regret is something that Cyril finds himself relating to. After a moment he reaches out and outs a hand on Kolivan's arm.]

[That hand is so small on his arm and the touch is gentle. Yet it is actually comforting. It has truly been a long while since he was given a touch like this.

For now he takes a moment to simply...let himself accept it. Because he finds he doesn't wish to discourage the Dalish from it.]

I'm sure they are all strong. With you as their leader.

I'd love to meet them.

It would be valuable for them to have another ally. I'm not sure when you will be able to encounter them but I will give their names.

[Just so Cyril will know.]

They are Ulaz, Krolia, and Keith.

Are they all Galra too?

[knowledgeordeath]

Yes. Though, Keith will look human since his father was one.

[samahl]

Really? Do Galra usually have children with other races?

[knowledgeordeath]

They do. It is far from uncommon. However, these half-bred children are always treated like second class citizens at best. Galra believe in the purity of the race.

[samahl]

A shame. For elves, if we reproduce with another race, the child will be the race of the non-elven parent. Do these half-Galra children look like Galra?

Keith looks human. Most that are half-Galra appear to be a combination of both races but now and then one race will have stronger genetics than the other.

[samahl]

The humans on Thedas tend to do that too when they mate with the other races. I wonder if that's just in their make up.

They do tend to like to dominate.

Do they? I have little experience with them. It is only recently I have been to a planet they come from and they were ages behind the rest of space until other races came to help them advance.

[samahl]

Well, that makes me feel all kinds of pleased. [Cyril chuckles gently.] Though I can't imagine how backwards you'd find Thedas.

[knowledgeordeath]

Backwards? [He knows nothing about Thedas so he doesn't really understand what Cyril means by that.]

[samahl]

From what I know, Earth is leaps and bounds ahead of us in technology. We haven't even invented steam engines yet.

[Which is something he only knows because he's been with the Fleet for a long time.]

When I arrived here, I had no concept that the stars were places you could travel too, let alone there were other worlds among them.

[knowledgeordeath]

I have found that many worlds have varying degrees of advanced technology but that doesn't mean they are primitive. Having a concept of worlds beyond your own is challenging when you cannot leave the world you're in to begin with.

[samahl]

That's pretty diplomatic of you. [He seems charmed, again. For the billionth time.]

[knowledgeordeath]

I can't say that I agree. Diplomacy was never a matter I excelled in.

[samahl]

And it happens to be something I'm rather decent at, for a Dalish elf.

That means I can assess your performance and in this case I find it satisfactory. [He might be teasing Kolivan a little but there is still that edge of sincerity.]

[knowledgeordeath]

You don't intend me to win this particular battle then.

[He's picking up on that one very quickly. He doesn't mind, of course, but still.]

I don't know about that. Usually, what I intend is to play the game as long as possible.

[He blinks. How does this Dalish keep throwing him off so easily? It's baffling.]
