Action + Video | Captain on the bridge. Sort of...
Who: Steve and you!
Broadcast: Video, yes: Fleetwide
Action: SS Bishop
When: Yesterday, after arrival
When: Yesterday, after arrival
ACTION:
Steve has just about managed to acquaint himself with the strange, new idea that he is now in space when the next curve is thrown his way. One second he's standing in a hallway, just about to walk up and ask someone if they have any idea what he's doing here. The next, he's...on a bridge. With confetti? And are those pudding cups? What the Hell is going on? He blinks around, his first instinct to always look and see if there is some sort of fight about to happen. Hands are in fists and he really wishes his shield was somewhere around here. But he dropped that in the dirt a few months ago, so fat chance.
Steve will stand down slowly, once no one attacks him right off the bat. Sadly, he's been in this position before; in a strange place and time, not knowing why or how. His thoughts are back on Earth and with the friends he's broken out of their floating prison and now, seemingly, abandoned. Maybe there is a way out of here. Or, maybe, he's needed here more? Hopefully someone is going to be able to talk him through it all.
VIDEO:
Many hours later, Steve sends out a broadcast, finally understanding how and wanting to reach out to anyone else that might be here. Anyone else he might know.
"Uh. Hey. My name is Steve Rogers. Hopefully I'm doing this right and you can all see and hear me. I just arrived about..." He looks down at something and then scrubs a hand over his face as though in disbelief. "Two days ago. A lot got packed into those days, it seems. But I'm sure you all know how that feels."
Steve pauses, shifting a bit before getting closer to the camera, face serious. "I've met some people here so I know that what happened to me has happened to a lot of other good people. I have questions and a lot of things I want to look into. But first, I want to know who else is out there. Who else might have the same questions I do and who wants to start getting some answers."
He moves back and tries to smile. "Or who maybe just wants to talk? Anything. So, yeah. Thanks. How do I....um. Is it this butt-"
Video cuts off abruptly.

They look sturdy.
[He came over in just jeans and a shirt so his Captain America uniform was left behind. This would work in the meantime.
He turns to the gun and picks it up. Strangely, he knows how it works. He doesn't like that intrusive knowledge, helpful though it is]
Is there a range or something I can practice in?

[A slight shrug is the best she can offer him there. She does try to keep track of the goings-on of the fleet at large, but it isn't something she has any real stake or interest in. Not usually.]
In the past, a temporary range on whatever planet we are forced to visit has been the usual approach. I may entertain the idea of building something more permanent aboard the ship, but I do not know if it fixes any damage suffered, or only what I inflict.
[And for obvious reasons, if she was wrong and it only worked for her, putting holes in the hull would probably be way up there on the Bad Ideas list.]

[He needs to figure out how big this fleet is and how many people are here now. He suspects that separating them all is a strategy to keep them from banding together against their kidnappers. But then again, they seem so advanced they honestly might not care.]
Maybe when we're landed some place safe we can test the damage thing. When we have time to fix it if we're wrong. A range would help all of us to be ready in a fight.

[Calling most of them "businesses" seemed like a stretch, really. Some charged credits, sure, but plenty of other things were free or open to the public.]
Remind me the next time we land. I'll be sure Pidge or Hux are on hand. It is likely they will be interested in the outcome, no matter what it may be.

Do we know anything about that ship? Any hints who might have made it? Was it always here? Who works on it?
[Maybe there is another player in this place they're in. And what do they always say? The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Maybe there is at least a hope of an ally here?]

[Well, she did have one answer, and she'll lean back against the wall before continuing. Steve was proving to be someone very eager to get as much information as possible, which meant she could be here a while. May as well get comfortable.]
Anyone who wants to work on it, does. I maintain the forge. I knew the previous owner of the Space Bar, as well as the first owner of the Melting Pot. I did not bother visiting much else. But each establishment is typically set up by one of us. Either out of boredom or to make extra credits.
[She'll shrug her shoulders before continuing]
I do not know who flies it, though. Or if there is a pilot or crew to speak of.

Credits? What are those used for? What can we buy for ourselves with those? Are the stores all in that ship too?
no subject
[Especially during a drift, but he'd discover that on his own.]
Not much worth buying on the Iskaulit itself. Food and drink, mostly. But credits can be spent most places we visit, as well as to upgrade the ship. Evidently there are upgrades for your augment, but I have seen no reason to purchase any. You would need to ask someone who has if you wanted more information.

Food and drink will probably be important for me. My metabolism is a lot larger than most humans so I need to eat a lot. I can manage with the flavorless gel so I don't deplete resources, but if there is real food somewhere, that will be for the best.
[He pauses, thinking to himself]
Maybe I'll even think about opening something. Might be worthwhile to see the Iskaulit more...

[It was...incredibly unlikely Steve would actually need to eat more than that, but at least starting there would let her err on the side of caution. She wouldn't even force Hux to subsist entirely on the protein goo, at least not unless it was as punishment. She wasn't about to allow anyone on her ship to do so due to an oversight on her part.]
You may take a shuttle whenever one is available. You should already know how to pilot it. I would offer to take you along on one of my visits, but they are...restrictive, when I am aboard.
[And Steve doesn't look like he could fit in the trunk. Not in one piece, anyway.]

I think it might be a little bit before I am ready to...accept that I know how to fly these alien machines. But thank you for the permission, Captain.
