[The frowning face of Kolivan appears on the screen. He looks generally unhappy but anyone who knows him is aware that this is literally just his default expression. There's nothing unusual to see here.]

It would appear that the captain of the Goldstone has departed this fleet. I am Kolivan, its new captain. Should you have questions then you can bring them to me.

[A pause and then...]

Members of my crew. I want reports for your stations by the end of the day. There is no First Mate on this ship so I will take them.

[And that's the end. He just ends the transmission there.]


Goldstone

[Kolivan can be found taking note of what the ship has and what it requires in terms of supplies. It's really impossible to miss him honestly. Being the towering figure he is and the way he needs to bend down to move through halls and doors... Well, it's basically not going to be hard to find him or run into him.

Just please don't do so literally. He's very solid and it will hurt.

But this is your new captain. Feel free to say hello.]

Having a deep conversation with someone who agrees with you on moral subjects is very sexy. That type of connection should not be underestimated.

Even when they disagree it can be sexy too, since debate can be exhilarating.

I, uhhhh, I guess I never thought about it that way?

[Yeah, he's still not totally getting this.]

We definitely have different opinions on what constitutes as hot. But suddenly things are making a lot more sense now.

I think that is true for everyone, isn't it? Everyone has their own definition for what is pleasing.

That's very true, yeah.

[Doesn't mean his mind is any less blown.]

I'm going to probably hate myself for asking this, but have you and he...?

Oh no. Despite my best efforts.

He's told me he doesn't mind my flirtation, but he very rarely returns it outright. There have been quieter moments of appreciation from him but that's it. More than enough for me.

His friendship is what truly matters.

[the_tailor]

That's good to hear, yeah. I'm not best buddies with him or anything, but I do know he is mega one of those married to the job types. So, uh. Good...luck? Kudos on the friendship bit, though!

[samahl]

I can relate to that. He's not the only one who was in charge of an organization dedicated to bringing order back to his world...

Though I suppose in his case it's worlds?

[the_tailor]

You mean, different planets? I mean, yeah. We definitely have the whole universe to protect. I'm not part of Kolivan's organization, but he works alongside us back home.

[samahl]

If you work with him....

Does that make you part of Voltron?

[the_tailor]

Yeah!

[That causes him to smile.]

I'm Lance, the red paladin of Voltron. I pilot a giant kickass robot lion and do my best to save the day.

[samahl]

Kolivan told me that Voltron brings hope to those who need it. And Keith explained the connection you have to your lions.

It's reassuring to know that in every reality there are people fighting for what is right. It's nice to meet you, red paladin.

[A nod. Well, it is nice that Kolivan's talking them up like that!]

Nice to meet you too. Just Lance is fine. And yeah, as much as I didn't expect to be in a war, I don't want to back down when it comes to fighting for the universe.

[samahl]

That is something I can relate to.

My name is Cyril. My world is called Thedas and I found myself thrust into a war there as well. It can be horryfing, but knowing that you are doing your part can make it worth it.

[the_tailor]

That's what keeps me going, really. That, and the thought of keeping my family safe.

[Though...he'd rather failed at that. At least he'd been able to salvage things and they'd stopped the invasion of Earth.]

[samahl]

Your family? Are any of them here? Or are they still back in your home universe?

[the_tailor]

My sister is, actually.

[He can't help a bright smile at that. Veronica showing up here was like a dream, honestly... He'd missed her so incredibly much.]

I really lucked out with that.

[samahl]

Then you have a lot of good people you can rely on. That's good.

[the_tailor]

Yeah. I...lost a few of them recently, but I still have a bunch here. And that, I'm grateful for.

[samahl]

I know how that feels. A lot of the friendships I've formed here were with people who were sent back home.

But then Kolivan appeared and, well, I suppose I've already talked enough about why that mattered to me.

[the_tailor]

[Nodnod.] Well, uh, I wish I had some advice to give you since I'm from his world, but I never knew him that well. Good luck, though? I'm honestly happy that at the very least, though, he has a friend here. I don't think he's bothered to think of anything past duty in a loooooong time.

[samahl]

I can tell. One day I may convince him to have a bit of fun.
