Who: Naltryd and you!
Broadcast: Fleet-wide
Action: Red Fish & Iskaulit
When: Post shuffle
Broadcast
[At first, nothing is on screen but a wall. The camera shifts, then topples to the floor with a crash. There's a muttered curse as it shakes, and before finally tilting up to look at a very confused young woman, her brow furrowed.]
What is this device? Garlean? Allagan?
[She mutters to herself, clearly having no idea this is a communication device.]
And for that matter, where in the love of Hydaelyn am I? This couldn't possibly be a prank, not with everything going on. An Ascian trick, perhaps? ...Talking to myself won't solve this.
[But where can she even start?]
Red Fish
[While she's the type to roll with the punches, this? This is something completely different from even the craziest of things she's experienced back home. After fiddling about with the strange device, she begins to wander the halls of the strange ship she's on.
The confetti and pudding are...odd. Honestly, with her luck, she ought to have put the pudding aside in case it was drugged. Baffled as she is, however, she takes the tiniest bit of comfort in the sweet treat as she ambles her way through the hallways.]
Iskaulit
[To say that Naltryd is a fish out of water might be the biggest understatement in the world. While she's had plenty of run ins with Allagan technology, and though less mysterious, Garlean technology, this world is even more incomprehensible. She's sailing among a sea of stars in a vessel unlike anything she'd ever seen before. An airship, yet there is no air outside.
She finds herself wandering the ship known as the Iskaulit, exploring each area of what seems to be the largest of this fleet. It amazes her how a single ship can contain everything from restaurants to parks to libraries to training areas, and more. It's a small city in itself.
One can catch her at any part of the ship, mostly wide eyed and baffled as she takes everything in. At some point, she retires to a bar, sipping at an alcoholic beverage she's never tried before. Even the rum in this place tastes different.]

Red Fish
Hello.
[It's a start.]
no subject
Ah, hello there. Would you be able to tell me exactly what is going on here?
[Naltryd doesn't look distressed, but she's very, very confused.]
no subject
Did anyone fill you in on the alien abduction reality TV show part?
no subject
[This is one woman who is not understanding your terminology.]
What is this "reality TV" you speak of?
no subject
I think it's when people like watching other people do everyday things? I don't know why anyone would want to. But that's why we're here, I guess. So someone out there can watch us doing... [He waves a hand at the whole lot of nothing interesting going on.]

Is it customary for people to be taken suddenly to this strange place and be placated with sugary treats?
no subject
Honestly? I have no idea, but I'm guessing yes.
[Bucky nods to the pudding cup.] I had 'em, too, is really the only thing I have to go on. But I've only been here a couple weeks.
[He'd offer to shake, but she's kind of got her hands full, so he just says,] Bucky Barnes. I guess I'm the pilot?
[Probably not the thing you want your pilot to sound unsure about, but.]
no subject
[Not exactly the inspiring vote of confidence Naltryd was hoping for. She places her pudding cup aside on the nearest available surface before holding her hand out in greeting.]
Naltryd Albrecht. What exactly is it that you are the pilot of here?
no subject
I guess, [he echoes, smile wry.] No one else on board knows how to fly it, and I do, even though I can't explain how.
[She might feel similarly about something else, maybe - it seems to be pretty common, at least.]
This ship - it's called the Red Fish. Not much crew, but most things seem to function all right on their own. You must be really new?
[To this whole kidnapping thing, he means.] Sorry it happened to you, too.

audio;
Atroma, I think. We're currently drifting in unknown space. Or, well, unknown to us, anyway. I'm sure someone's charted it, but they're not sharing.
no subject
[She recoils a little at hearing a voice coming out of the device. Is this some sort of large, bulky linkpearl?]
...space? You don't mean the stars above, do you?
no subject
Yep. The ships we're in sail the Sky, traveling from world to world. There ought to be a window somewhere, if you want to see for yourself.

Just, when we get there, it's a whole other world to explore.

Oh, hi. Are you new here, too?
no subject
So it would seem. I don't suppose you have any clearer idea than I do as to what is going on?

[Minako smiled a bit, but that faded quickly.]
I mean, we have the augments, and apparently they tell us what we need to know. But, beyond this being something like a game show, I have no clue. I'm hoping that some of the people who've been here longer can help us. I'm not sure how much I want to believe from our so-called hosts.
[For a bit, there was that grim seriousness that Minako could display when she got down to business. She wasn't all happy sunshine and ditzy smiles.]
no subject
[Weapons she doesn't exactly care for either, at that. Naltryd had once given firearms a try, but they definitely weren't her thing.]
I don't know what this "game show" is that you speak of, unfortunately.
no subject
[Minako paused for a moment as she considered her next answer.]
Well,... a game show is like a contest, but it's done in a way that a looooot of people can see it.

As she's wandering the halls with pudding in hand, Carl comes down the hallway in the opposite direction. He'd heard the fanfare over the speaker system and knows what it means, but he's never in a rush to bombard new crew. ]
Finding your way around?
no subject
She blinks, looking at the person before her.]
I, ah, in a manner. I take it you live here?
no subject
Yeah. Guess you're one of the new crew. Do you want me to show you to your room?
no subject
[Right, then.]
I'd be happy to take you up on that, then.
no subject
[ He nods down the hallway. ]
Sure, no problem.
