It seems I have spent a total of a year in this place and the, ah, viewers wish to celebrate. However most of this is useless to me, so I welcome anyone else taking them into their hands.

Not quite, but I have been trapped on a planet before by aliens, in a manner of speaking.

Ah, no, that is a bit out of the Globular System. A shame. I love different planets. It's part of the charm of this place for me.

It is enjoyable to be able to travel.

[ though loki prefers being able to do that himself, possessing the ability to traverse to different planes of reality. ]

Yes, it is, but I would like more freedom over where I go or if I have choice in the matter. Even if it's only on the surface.

[This freedom here isn't really freedom and she sort of really resents it at times.]

The Atroma does not enjoy the concept of choice.

Of course not. They are whimsical to a fault, but I think it will be their whimsy that will ruin them.

[She shakes her head, smiling self-deprecatingly.]

Even I know when to abandon such behavior for seriousness.

Power would do that to a person.

You don't have to tell me that. But, power isn't really all it's cracked up to be, is it?

[She thought that despite that she'd been his prisoner and pawn that he looked even more miserable than she was, until he began trying to use her...]

Isn't there some saying about power corrupting or something?

It is a very common belief, yes. But you cannot say you enjoy being powerless either. Neither extreme is valuable.

I'm not powerless. I just know how to use what power I have without running over anyone else's autonomy.

[She doesn't need the powertrip part of things.]

True, but your power could not overturn your war.

It is a bit difficult to overturn a war when what you're fighting is microscopic and can go dormant for many years.

My point stands. It is a difficult line to tread when it comes to power and no one is truly immune to it.

Hm, perhaps.

[It's not something that she's really thought a lot about outside of trying to prevent outbreaks and handling it when it does.]

It's a quandary that I've never experienced myself. I'm rather attached to my current position of being able to help people who need it but without having to tell them what to do. Outside of attempting to sway them to listen to me sing.

Are you suggesting that I might want everyone to be my slobbering minions? That seems a bit extreme.

I am saying power turns anyone's head. I'm not talking about the extremities, but the fact that it can warp the strongest of people.

What about those that have no real desire for power? Isn't it harder to corrupt them?

[This is a far cry from the real purpose of their conversation, but it's interesting nonetheless.]

Harder, perhaps. But not impossible. Even the most altruistic desire power to change the world for the better.
