[Simon smiles at the camera, before he clears his throat and addresses everyone.]

Ah- hello to members of the Drift Fleet, old and new. I'm Simon, the medical officer on the Bloodsport. It seems that my sister River has been going around and making lots of friends since she arrived here- I would like to speak to and get to know all of you in turn if you wish. I will be here on the Bloodsport and making housecalls elsewhere as needed.

[Perhaps he's treating you on your ship. Maybe you visit him on the Bloodsport or run into him at the waystation the Fleet is currently docked in while he scrounges for food and medicine. No matter what, Simon wants to know the people his sister is bonding with. Why not say hello?]

[Simon relaxes visibly at the fact that Robin does not seem to be unduly bothered by the news of River's condition. The whole truth, no doubt, would be told in due time, but that was enough for now.]

Indeed- she has met a few people who have similar gifts here. It's a bit of a shock for me, since psychics are very rare back home. I agree about her and Jinx, however... Jinx has a tendency to be very very choosy with her spoken words, but her thoughts... [He trails off at that.]

Psychics are rare on my world, too, but... I guess they're a very popular attraction, for places and arrangements like this one.

[he tilts his head a little.]

Thanks for being clear. If anyone gives her trouble, you can come talk to me, all right? I want nothing but for you and your sister to be safe here.

I would imagine so- there can be a lot of potential drama for the audience, after all.

[Simon is not physically rolling his eyes, but the eyeroll is implied in his tone.]

I will, and thank you. I want her to be safe, too... thankfully it seems as though her being psychic is not as big a concern as it would be back home. She was very much an anomaly, and her abilities made her... I don't want to say feared, but it definitely made others more wary of being around her if they knew.

Well, no one wants their mind read. I can understand that.

[with a short huff of a laugh. he's honestly a little concerned about whether or not she'd like him--and whether or not he can keep her away from his toxic thoughts.]

Does she like anything? Hobbies, that kind of stuff?

Indeed- and hopefully we can find a way to help her control it better.

[Though he doubts that's possible, given the physical brain damage, but... stranger things have happened.]

She loved school... loved to learn. And she loves to dance- she has since she was a little girl.

[oh, a bright smile spreads across his face at the mention...]

That's great... We'll see what we can manage, since I'd hate for her to get too bored.

I will do my best to help. Oh, she enjoys flying, too, I should mention- she is quite skilled at it, in fact. I think she enjoys the sense of freedom.

Well, that's already easy. The ship takes some special piloting knowledge, but it looks like anyone can get into one of those shuttles and buzz around for a bit... [he spins his finger around.] I'd love to get someone comfortable flying those things. It's the only position we're really lacking, around here.

Then I will be sure to mention that to her- and perhaps she can instruct everyone else on how to fly the shuttles. I know I would feel better knowing I could get around more easily.
