I think I'm going to go ahead and have a look at this new planet. The last was a bit plain for my tastes but I suppose I'd already gotten used to a more advanced lifestyle after Riverview and now all of this.

I certainly encourage anyone to join me if they like.

In general though, he won't be spending any time topside because of allergies, he'll be very taken by VR gaming and a bit of shopping, he is a teenager after all, and also spending a little time in the water park. As long as it doesn't require swimming, of course!]

[Ciel had found himself at the waterpark within the first few days of the fleets stop in this new system. It had cost more than he liked but he'd gotten a swimsuit in one of the shops- even with Riverview's experiences, he still wasn't quite used to the change in style compared to what he knew in England.

He mostly stuck to the shallows of any pool, or to the lazy river for a bit, but it felt nice to just relax in the cool water. So he didn't expect what was coming next.]

[He wasn't thrilled for the amount of skin the swimsuits of this day and age liked to show, not out of modesty or embarrassment from the number of scars over his own skin, but for all that exposure to the sun. He wasn't exactly dark skinned, and he knew from experience he would burn if he stayed out too long.]

[But here he is anyway, hair down, in shorts as long as he could get them, and in the cool water, and he decided this would be nice if he could get away with floating around without a sunburn. His hair was going to be a chore to wash later, but that was later.]

Seems we had the same idea. How are you liking this?

[He's not entirely fond of these style swimsuits either. Even though Undertaker had gone through all the trouble of having the brand removed, the teen still isn't entirely comfortable with showing so much of his body. Especially in public.

Nobody else seems too bothered though so he tries not to be. Instead, he smiles towards the reaper and wades over to him. Ciel's hair is still perfectly dry, as are his shoulders and above. He's not gone into anything deeper and has no plans to.]

It's nice. I thought it might be fun to just soak a bit after so long stuck on the ships. And that last system we visited. Are you having fun?

[What it is or isn't, he'll have to get used to it, at least for now. But it's not all what it's cracked up to be, he thinks, and he's sure he'll have regrets later when he bothers to care.]

Isn't it? Ahh. [He sighs and lets himself slump back into the water, waist deep to the boy though it is, and floats on his back for just a moment, braid trailing after him.] I think I can rightly say I haven't known anything like this since I was around your age.

[With a smile, Ciel splashes a little water towards the reaper. Not enough to be a bother of any sort or a shock, just playful.]

Really? Why so long? If you like swimming and relaxing- you certainly deserve it, working with my family so much and so long.

[He grins. Widely. And doesn't move from the splash but to close his eyes. Not that he can use them very well these days.]

Well, there never was much opportunity, was there? Youth affords one a certain amount of freedom, but then you age, you're given responsibility, you die as I did, you're given more responsibility.

[That's an unpleasant line of thought, so he shifts and gets back to his feet, not particularly caring where the water ends up as he does.] You're young enough. Surely you're just right for this. When was the last time you went swimming?

Hmm... [He gives it some thought and shakes his head slowly. With all the things he's done as Watchdog, Undertaker hasn't had a lack of business. At least until the Campania incident and then he still would have been very busy, with his brother to care for.]

I suppose you wouldn't have had many opportunities. Especially thanks to me and Sebastian.

[Then that question and he can't help but shuffle a bit in the water.] Never actually. I was never well enough or they worried I'd have a fit in the water and drown.

[There's a light shrug and... a look of surprise. Really, he should have expected as much, but he thought... even once or twice... even with the asthma.]

No? Never? I suppose you don't know how to swim then, do you? You need water enough around you to learn, but if you haven't been in any deep enough...

[Come to think of it... He reached a hand out to run fingers over the boy's hair. Dry hair. Ciel hadn't even dunked himself yet.] My goodness, my lord.

[His cheeks turn bright red as he feels that hand through his hair, hears that. Not many people know that fact but Undertaker is special among everyone he knows.]

N-no... the only time was when the Campania sank but the water was so cold... [Swimming was the last thing on his mind then.] I don’t need to though...

[Is this boy playing games with him? Is he?]

Don't need to? Milord, what are you going to do if we find ourselves in a spot where there's water enough that you need to swim and I can't be there to help you? You can fire a pistol well enough, so come then. [He reaches out for the boy's hand to drag him over to the pier, if he needs to.] It's not so hard as it looks.

[He takes that hand but he looks wary. So far, he hasn’t ended up closer to deeper water and has been able to keep his head above it. And he hasn’t been around any splashing of any sort.]

I’ll... I’ll find another way. Swimming can’t be the only solution. [Theres a little huff.] I’ve gotten by alright without swimming. No one noticed or cared. I’m fine, really.

[To Ciel's credit, the boy takes his hand willingly. He had half expected a fight. But now that he has it, he's not letting go, and they're leaving the water for the pier.]

There is, I promise, though drowning isn't as kind a death as asthma. Asthma is just the illusion of no air. With drowning, there truly is no air. Might not be another chance to teach you before the worst should happen, so on with it.

[Of course he had, he trusts Undertaker. And he's probably one of the few people the teen has ever fully trusted. When he realizes just where they're headed though, he does pull back a little bit in a panic.]

U-Undertaker... really what are the chances that we'll end up somewhere that I absolutely need to know how to swim- [And here his throat just closes up a bit and he lets out a very undignified little whimper.]

Hello Ciel, are you on the planet by any chance?

Have you tried the virtual reality games they have down here? It's called a video game. You should try it, you might find it fun. They have cafes down here. I think I've been down here for hours, but then again I haven't play video games in a long time.

[Video game..? He knows those but his experiences are extremely limited.] Like Pac-Man?

[Very extremely limited.] Laura had an arcade machine in Riverview that had Pac-Man on it. Can you play these with one eye?

I don't think they have pac-man, but then again, I haven't checked it yet. Down here, they have a variety of games like puzzle games, adventure, fantasy, racing, sports, just to name a few.

I believe you can but that requires more eye to hand coordination. Still, regardless if you have one eye, you can still have fun. You'll be missing a lot if you don't come and try to play a few.

It's the only video game I know. [He hadn't spent much time around the arcades, busy with his health and his business. And the cafe before he'd handed it over to Undertaker, more or less.]

I've gotten very good at managing with one eye. I'll have to give it all a look when I get down there.

It's the only game you know? My goodness, kids your age has played over a dozen and more! When I was your age, I was very good at airplane simulation and farm games.

[But then again, Abel played a lot of simulation games when he was very young as a part of his training for aerospace.]

Maybe you should try the sport games too like baseball to improve your hand and eye coordination.

We don't have videos games where I come from. [The manor had electricity, sure, but that was still rather new. He had the money to have the manor set up for it, to have a phone installed. That was the extent of it though.]

I, uh, actually don't like sports too much though. [He can't help but think of his time at Weston. And the cricket tournament. His hands had ached and he hated how rough and bruised they'd ended up. And the bruise he'd gotten to his forehead...] I played for the Sapphire Owls in Weston' annual cricket tournament.

There isn't any video games where you come from? I see.

[Abel figured some people came from worlds where it's not technologically advanced as his own.]

Oh, I'm not very sportsy either. But I do like soccer. I heard of cricket and rugby back home, but I couldn't get into it.

I guess for you, I think puzzle games can be much easier. Sometimes when I play puzzle games, I don't do much thinking.

No. [But they'd have been great, having grown up as a sickly and weak child.]

Critical thinking and tactics are usually much better for me. [For anything.] I'd formed all of Sapphire Owls tactics for the tournament.

Critical thinking and tactics...so you might like strategy games too like army-types and war games.

Anyway, I hope you join me down here soon. It's fun here, and I'll show you how to play. They have some console-type games too. They use a controller in your hands, so that should be good for your coordination when you play it out on the screen.

I never really thought about war games or anything like that. I can't think of very many [any at all]] from my time.

My coordination isn't so bad though. It's been years since I lost my eye, I got used to it. I won't mind playing a few games though. Pac-Man was fun, after all.

War games require a lot of strategy! You pick a side, make your own army, and then fight the other side for victory for your country. I usually like the medieval war games where knights rides on horses and they fight for their king.

I'll see if I can find Pac-man for you in the arcade section. I think I'm played a few times in my time.

I've never played any sort of war game before. [The closest he's come to war of any sort was when he was in Germany. And that's as close as he'd ever like to come to facing actual soldiers or tanks. Or anything of the sort.]

That doesn't sound too bad, really. I didn't really play a lot in Riverview, just Pac-Man when Laura got a machine.
