[ the feed turns on, though it seems to start with a burst of static and a blurry screen before it finally seems to straighten itself out. though the scene you might be seeing seems a little . . . hard to take in. mostly because it looks like everything has been frozen. plants, grass and giant dinosaurs like T-Rexs that were in mid-lunge to bite on . . . a huddled lump who has a quilt over their head and cocooned deep within the covers. And also happens to be sneezing a lot. ]

This — [ loki sneezes, looking pale, harried and a little . . . blue. ] — Is the worst. Why is everything so — [ another loud sneeze. ] — uncomfortable?! And how do you make it stop?!

[Keith shrugged.]

I can't tell you what to believe. I can only give you my word that I don't want anything. It's up to you to accept it or not.

[ loki takes a moment to ponder this, mullish. ]

Fine. You can . . . help.

I'll send you the coordinates.

[ which he does, seconds later. ]

[Keith nodded, and then glanced at the comm when it beeped about receiving the coordinates.]

Alright. I'll be there soon.

[And he was. Keith was nothing if not fast. He was confident in his skills to pilot a shuttle, and was able to push it hard to get there.

It didn't take him long to find all the ice. The frozen T-Rex thing helped, too.]

Hey, it's just me. [Don't freeze him, please?]

[ loki sneezes. ]

I am conscious.

[ barely. ]

Keith, correct?

Yeah. And you're Loki, right?

[He carefully made his way over, trying not to slip.]

So, uh... what do you need?

[ loki huffs. ]

I only need you to guide me. I cannot see clearly like this with this . . . infection.

[Keith nodded. "Infection"? Probably more like allergies...]

Okay. Sure.

[He offered his hand in case Loki needed it.]

You can put your hand on my shoulder. I'll go slow.

[ loki hesitates. ]

I can't touch you like this. You'll die.

[Keith stopped.]

Oh. Well. Okay then. That kind of throws a wrench into things.

Can you see me well enough to follow me? Or can I touch you? Like, if I took your arm or something?

[ loki gets up on wobbly legs, shaking slightly. ]

No. Just . . . walk ahead and keep talking. That should be enough.

Keep talking... right.

[Easier said than done. Keith was terrible at small talk. Though, he still kept an eye Loki anyway. He didn't exactly look steady on his feet.

Also, the last time he'd tried to guide someone through something blindly, it hadn't gone well... Of course, that had been Lance when they still mostly hated each other. Maybe this wouldn't be as hard?]

Alright, come towards me. The ground's pretty smooth at this point.

[Not normally the type to make a ton of noise when he moved, thanks to his Blade training, Keith had to make a point of being a little noisy as he moved so Loki could hear him.]

[ loki pulls the cover closer around him as he forges onward. his footsteps are light and don't seem to be bothered by the snow or ice. ]

I doubt I will trip. I'm not an invalid.

[ with that, he does sway a little, sneezing. ]

[Keith raised an eyebrow.]

I didn't say you were. I was just offering an idea of what was going on because you said you couldn't see clearly. I could have just not said anything and let trip over a tree root or something.

[Yes, he was here to help Loki out, but he wasn't going to stand there and be berated for trying to be nice.]

[ he chuckled at that, wry. ]

That would defeat the purpose of coming here.

[Keith chuckled slightly in response.]

Alright. It's a pretty straight path back to civilization where we can get you on one of the ships back up to the Fleet. I'll warn you if you need to watch your step.

[Now... to keep talking... Keith kept moving now, holding branches and stuff out of the way so Loki wouldn't poke his eye out on one or something.]

So, uh... other than doing fancy drinks at the Iskaulit bars on occasion, what do you do in the Fleet?

[ it is strange to talk about himself. or be asked. thor does, but thor is family. ]

I am a Captain so I work to maintain my ship and my crew.

I just got promoted... so I guess I'm in charge of doing that, too.

[Keith didn't sound thrilled by that, but more resigned, like he accepted it because he felt he had to.]

Stay a bit to your left here... there's a tree.

[Keith followed the path along to the left of the tree in question, continuing on to the next part of the conversation so Loki could hear the directional change.]

What ship are you on?

The First Breath. It's a quiet ship but the crew work hard.

[ except tyrion. fuck tyrion tbh. ]

Sounds like a good crew. I'm on the Huntress. I have been since I arrived. I was the pilot before Mikleo disappeared.

[Keith was pretty sure this was boring as hell...]

[ loki blinks. ]

As real as one can prove. We were there on your planet when you still used mud huts and charting the waters of your own world.

So, you saw a lot of our history, then.

[Keith frowned a bit.]

But, if you were there back then, how old are you?

Not as much as you may think. We did not spend a lot of time on Earth.

[ loki frowns, mulling over keith's question. ]
