[ The feed starts off as video first, before switching through the various modes of voice, text, and quickly skimming through the archives. Sooner or later, he flips it back to video. Figuring it'd be best to switch and leave the mode as is, the last thing he wanted was to be accused of poking through things he wasn't supposed to. ]

The feed seems to play on other stations like this one. Saves in the archives as it runs, too. Think our boss has something to do with this?

[ Sliding off his old guard mask, he tilts his head towards someone off screen. Though their voice is caught easily enough. ]

Hard to say. Someone obviously is responsible for this. [ Her voice is strained and ends on a huff, while she zips the suit up as high as it can go, giving it an extra tug even though it is at its limits. ] Regardless, we should stay on our toes.

Well, I don't think we're gonna start connecting the dots on our own anytime soon. So might as well ask... [ At least there seemed to be somewhat helpful replies on the announcements he'd sifted through. With that, he crosses his arms and after a minute or so of shifting and leaning on the edge of the desk; he asks: ] Anyone out there mind filling us in on all this?

[ Not questioning why he knows vague ideas of space and space travel all of a sudden, either. ]

[ To anyone still milling about the Marsiva, two middle aged teenagers are currently standing around the comms station a little after their broadcast. With the beefy looking guy in a pink yukata a few sizes too small and the lady beefcake in a gaudy blue catsuit. They're digging out a bunch of small post-its with a few scrawled on napkins from their pockets or folds, with the former sliding his old fox mask to the side of his head as he goes over their loot pile.

Eventually they move onto the communicators, things they're more familiar with than dealing with patron spirits or bathhouse customers of Koriko. Exchanging their frequency numbers and sending texts to test out the connection. And, occasionally, leaning over each others shoulders to try out a number of different emoticons before simmering down. Although the awful late night TV shows pull their attention from time to time. Interesting. ]

Hello. [the random girl on the other end of the video bows her head slightly, then looks back at the video feed]

I'm afraid we only know bits and pieces, but it seems to be implied that we are on some sort of... television program in space. We've all been taken from vastly different worlds, and we must work together on these small space ships.

[ with how quiet and empty it was when they both arrived, the two of them figured they were either; going crazy or stuck alone in space. that is, until a few helpful spacemates (competition? space big brother contenders?) had filled them in on the basics. at least this was in no way the witch's fault, sorry boss.

the colors from her outfit cause him to turn first before anything else, caught in his periphery. though when it turns out the figure is just a spirit medium weird girl, he shoots her a wave in return. albeit small and awkwardly... wow, that ENTHUSIASM. ]

You bet. [ it takes him a second to realize he'd just gotten caught up in the nonchalance spiel. ] I'm guessing you woke up here, too?

[ it's a good thing he's used to getting plucked out of nowhere to work on a debt while dealing with spirits, but being on a tv show (in space) was something he can't help but squint at. though he belatedly realizes the girl on the screen was kind enough to answer, giving her a small nod in return. ]

I appreciate you cutting to the chase, really. [ uncrossing his arms from his wide sleeves, taking a more hunched stance when setting his hands to his knees. ] It's something more than we could've ever guessed on our own, so.. all of this is being broadcasted? Now?

[ Honestly, going crazy doesn't seem that awful an option lately -- a few weeks ago, maybe. Now she just wants to settle things down, take a breather, and maybe do some sweaty hand-holding with the pardner.

Jill notices her before Chris does, her senses still over-reactive and body just as keen; her head turns minutely in the direction she is coming from and eyes briefly following suit before falling back on the one beside her. Reactions like this still make her stomach sick.

On the bright side, the enthusiasm more than makes up for her own ill feelings, the cheer in her voice managing to affect her in turn. Body still stiff, she folds an arm over her waist, but holds no ounce of unwelcome in her expression. ]

We only arrived a little while ago. Are you alright?

[ Jill is pretty sure she's alright. ]

[ Jill is still off screen for the most part, dipping her head in over his shoulder you get the right half of her face on an angle. Brows raised and what appears to be a smile on her face, though it still has a neutral sense about it. ]

This is all very... disconcerting. You mention work, though -- what kind of work exactly is it we're expected to do? Or was that a more general statement?

[oof, Maya to home base, we've got two sticks-in-the-mud. But even though they're stiff, the fact that they're talking is welcome. The other guy hanging around the ship was nice enough, but she was grateful for face-to-face conversation. Anyway, they both seem a bit on edge so she tries to turn down the overwhelming cheer just a notch. Lowering her waving hand she nods.]

Yeah, I also woke up here, and I'm totally fine. [she smiles again to prove the point]

I've been here for a few days, actually, so I can give you guys the run down of what's going on. Unless you guys already got it from the network? Then maybe I can give you a pop quiz.

[ No waves, no greetings--just this dork's face moved way too close to the screen once he gets it working. ]

Hi! Hey--do you work for reality TV too??

[ Over the shoulder of the big bara, she pops her head into his field of vision, her ponytail falling over him, tight against his neck. ]

Not until today, apparently. [ Sharp, almost accusatory: ] Why, are you the one that brought us here?

I apologize if it's a lot to take in. This entire situation is quite... surreal.

And it's quite possible that we are always being broadcasted. I haven't seen the show personally, and we haven't interacted with anyone from another planet who has seen it. But, there is a woman's voice that announces important things that occur, and she seems to imply that we are always being watched.

Well... we're not really forced to do anything. But it seems that we've all been given a host of new information and skills that we did not have previously. [she motions to the spot near the ear where the augment can be felt]

Among this information is the ability to perform a function on a spaceship. It's assumed that we must all pool our skills together and through this teamwork the ship will function as intended.

[ HIM?? A criminal mastermind??? Sam can't even handles snakes man. He's a short fifteen year old with unruly hair and he look appropriately accused when she says that. ]

Huh?? No! I'm on one of the little ships... I didn't bring myself here!

Is that so? I appreciate you being so forward about that. I thought I might have hit my head or maybe I was simply imagining it all.

[ Without much thought, she mimics the girl in the video. It's a gut reaction, something that can't be helped. Her fingers curl, press against the skin almost harshly while she rubs it./small> ]

It's a little... out there, but I think after the past four months of my life that I'm a little more inclined to believe this. [ Especially since the whole information thing isn't incorrect. Almost suddenly, she decides now would be a good time for introductions. ] I'm Jill.

[ You shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Young, small, and unkempt doesn't mean a damn thing in the grand scheme of things. ]

I see. [ Throat cleared, head tilted a little upward. ] I apologize, then. I thought you were implying that you did. May I ask you a question?

[ chris is less of a stick and more of a lumpy rock, just sitting there in the mud like a turd. though his shoulder takes a slight dip to hold onto the edge of the table, leaning back to look more at ease. despite the odd situation as a whole, he picks up on cues easily enough and can tell he could trust the kiddo to some degree. ]

Yeah, I can tell. [ voice slightly shaking as he gives a halfhearted laugh, though the cheer does remind him of someone back in koriko. whose name escapes him right now, still, he nods to call her closer. ] A pop quiz, huh? Well, I don't mind testing my luck if you could give me a refresher afterward.

[ he's confident enough it seems. since a few of them were kind enough to tell them both what was up. ]

[ Jill looks more like she's responsible than he does :c ]

Me?? Uhh...sure! I mean, I dunno if I'll be able to answer but...

[ Something about a skintight bodysuit, expression that borders neutral, and a voice that's even. ]

It couldn't hurt, I think. When you mentioned ships... do you know exactly how many there are?

[ there's a small hum as he goes over her words carefully, gravelly and thankful at least. ]

It's a lot to take in at once, but thanks for letting me know. Not sure if I can really trust it all from first impressions, but it's something to think on. [ pinching his expression slightly, shooting her a wry and lopsided smile. ] And, I'd have to agree, this is pretty surreal. Never expected to get dragged behind the lens. How've you been holding up, if I'm allowed to ask?

[ Exactly. ]

Well...I don't know for sure, but I saw at least two others plus mine when we landed!

[ chris should know better than to lean back, and yet.. he still does. his expression simmers down until he squints back at the screen. the question probably came from their odd choice in attire, though the pink yukata really isn't helping him in this case. still, he crosses his arms before replying. huffffsss ]

Afraid not. Not sure what gives you that sort of impression, kid.

And... if you don't mind talking about it, where were you for the last few months? It's hard to imagine something that would prepare someone for all... this.

You look kinda like the mascots they put on game shows! [ :D ]

I see. Does the one I'm on count as one of those other two? Or are they spread out so far that it's not easy to gauge that?

On the planet! The big desert one--and I think if you just got here you're on the really big one, and I didn't see that landed at all. It's okay! You'll get teleported from there eventually.

Huh, I pictured mascots to be more in suits. Shark or bear costumes, maybe. [ slightly rolling his shoulders. ] Don't know what to tell you.
