[With help from other Fleeters, Minako had coordinated the lecture hall being decorated into an auditorium for their auction. It was done up somewhat cheesy, like a 90's high school prom, with hearts and cute things... streamers, balloons... anything she could find on the planet below to make it work.

She also managed to order a buffet of hors d'oeuvres and finger foods (nothing super fancy) for people to snack on, and there were drinks. There wasn't specifically punch, but there wasn't anything alcoholic being supplied, so that would have to be brought in by others. She's a minor!

Before the auction itself starts, but once everyone's there, Minako steps up on the stage to address everyone.]

I want to thank everyone for participating tonight. It's a great showing of people and I know we'll be able to use the supplies we'll be getting during the next drift. I hope everyone has a good time tonight, and I definitely hope you all have wonderful dates.

Now... let the auction begin!

[She'd step to the side, and then introduce each person as they came out for their bidding.

Afterwards, she thanked everyone again, wished them all luck on their dates, and told them to enjoy the rest of the night!]

{OOC: Each of the characters being sold has a top level for the bidding portion. The winners that were rolled are in the subjects. Feel free to make your own top levels like a typical mingle if you want to do more than just the bidding. Also, you can go hog-wild bidding in each of the individual top levels, but the winners have already been picked for some of them. Those who didn't get an RNG pairing (sorry, we had less buyers than people sold) are open to having fun with bidding and you can determine who wins. Just because you're not the winner of a person doesn't mean you can't play out a bidding war if you want to! Have fun!}

[This response causes Tim to bend over in laughter. He's holding his side and stomach as if laughing hurts but he doesn't stop the almost silent wheezing laughter that comes out of him]

Oh god, wait? what do you get if you win? Slave for a day?

Not fricken' likely! [He snarls and now fully turns towards Tim.] And don't you get any stupid idea.

[Well, now Tim has to do it. He goes up to the bidding list and quickly puts down his name and the bid for 1 credit. The writing is chicken scratch, made only worse by the fact that he keeps giggling]

At least now you can't say that no one bid on you.

The fu-- [A single cent!?] What kind of horseshit is that!? I'm worth way more than that! [Manji shoves Tim out of the way and bids five credits on himself.] Not that I'm letting some snot nosed kid buy me! [Can he bid on himself? Money is money he's sure it's fine.]

[Tim will take the shoving with a laugh]

Oh yes, I see you're worth.. [He looks over Manji's shoulder] A whole five times more than that.

Are you even allowed to do that?

[Tim doesn't big again right this second. It would just keep escalating when he can just throw 10 credits on it when Manji isn't looking]

SHUT UP! [He's got no other comment about how he didn't want to spend too much money on himself.]

And they just want money right?! This place doesn't give a fuck if I don't go home with anyone so it's fine! All they want is the cash!

True, it is a fundraiser that is benefiting us all regardless of who goes home with who. So I really should be more generous with my credits

[Tim pretends to move back to the bidding list again, giving Manji plenty of time to stop him again]

Don't you dare! [Stop Tim? How about he takes the pen and snaps it in half. Not that it's a great idea as ink suddenly goes spilling everywhere.] Look what you've done!

[That's set Tim off laughing again as Manji just yells at him while covered in ink]

Really? Is spending time doing things with me such a repulsive idea to you Manji?

[Tim just produces a pen from one of his many pouches and puts down 10 credits while Manji deals with his mess]

He's going to throw those two pieces of the pen at the back of your head while you do that you little jerk.]

[Tim ducks without even looking or acknowledging the broken bits as they fly over his head]

Why don't you go look at who else you can bid on? Were dates even a thing that people did back in your day?

Mostly arrangement made by parents. [He's going to try to snatch that pen out of Tim's hand.] I'm not interested in dating anyone. Especially you. So knock it off!

Oh, I'm not interested in dating you. I just thought it would be funny to have you cater to my every whim for an evening or something.

[Tim has already put his new bid in so the pen is going back into one of his pouches]

I wonder if I can make some bids on your behalf then... [He looks thoughtful]

What exactly could you do to make me regret it? It's honestly already been well worth it even before I've won you. This has been hilarious, haven't laughed that long in forever!

I can cut off your favorite body part. [A grown man probably shouldn't be threatening a teen like this, but Manji doesn't seem to care.]

[Tim rolls his eyes] You wouldn't cut off a limb over something as silly as this and I'm perfectly capable of stopping you.

You really want to test me on that, kid? [Although Tim is right. He's not going to cut anything off.] Now stop bidding on me.

I have stopped. I don't need to keep bidding when I'm the one winning. [Tim rolls his eyes once more] Are you aware of how an auction works?

Never been to one before. I get the concept. Person with the most money wins, right?

[Tim almost goes to refute that and then just nods]

Yes, it is pretty much an event to show off how much money you have to throw away.

Bah. Useless. [He waves a hand in front of his face as he goes to pick up part of that destroyed pen.] Just more spoiled rich people showing off and letting people know that they're better than others just because they got money.

[Tim can't remember if Manji knows that he's one of those spoiled rich people or not. Well not here obviously, he actually thinks that considering the way Manji seems to live that he would have accumulated quite a bit of the money given to them]

You're not wrong but in this case and for a lot of those kinds of events, the money is being put to a good cause at the very least.

Then why not give the money over freely? Why buy a slave for the night?

This is supposed to just be a fun reason to throw money at a cause and what you get out of it is likely a meal with some company.
