It is my name. [ Everyone asks that. Not so much as a blink at the studying - because Duke is still absently studying in return. Increasing how far his mana reaches, because he's fairly sure he isn't talking to a human and wants to see how the magic will read the man. ]

Any political power I would have is long gone. As well as irrelevant to current situations.

[and with how much energy he's recently gorged himself on with the planet, he has an ample aura hanging around him. and when he feels that mana reach up against it, there's a restless shrug of his shoulders and it all retreats a little closer around him. just minding his own energy a little bit more, keeping it from bleeding out as much as it was.]

[ That's interesting. Duke takes it as "don't poke me" in a fairly calm way, and he pulls his own back. ]

Prior to being pulled [ To his previous location- ] I was a hermit. Here, I am supposed to be security.

and, his brow raising at the explanation, Duke earns himself another skeptical once-over.]

[ Duke doesn't really care, it's all okay. ]

You are the first to think it doesn't match. But living in the woods, avoiding contact, traveling alone. Perhaps the travel does not quite fit, but the rest. [ He just kept himself clean. Is that why he didn't strike as the type? ]

'The type' have tended to be little more than gun-toting brutes, from what I've seen. So, you seem quite the deviation from the norm.

Duke tilts his head slightly. Did he have a run in with a bunch of violent people recently, because that sure is the impression Duke is getting.

[ Duke spends a moment thinking on that - Cole had been here the entire time he had, and Solas after he arrived, so that was at least half.

... Then again, it could have to do with his pointed words about violent people? He's thinking too hard on things that don't quite involve him... ]

It is unlikely that I can help any with the 'strangers' part. I generally keep to myself, unless it is something.. like the ship needing defending, or something simple I can help repair.
