When she isn't working on the ship, Jove is in her bedroom that now looks more like a greenhouse with a bed than anything else. There are etchings and paintings on the exposed bits of wall now, half completed works of art that Solas has been working on at her request to make the place feel just a little bit more like Skyhold.
No matter where she's found, the response to guests is the same as it always is. A smile, warm and welcoming as she puts aside whatever it was she had been doing because honestly, there's just about nowhere in the Fleet she wouldn't be happy to see.]

... Would you like any extra hands?
no subject
Well I'm certainly not about to say no. It's only too bad that this had to be part of your introduction to living on this ship.

[But here she is, turning up on Jove's ship in the engine room where she appears to be hard at work. Perhaps she should have called first. Too late for that now.]
[Cassandra clears her throat.]
Inquisitor.

It can be quite crowded in her head and she doesn't hear Cassandra come in. Thus, at the sound of her clearing her throat and speaking, Jove jumps and very nearly smacks her head on the engine she had been tucked under to get a very specific part she had never actually heard of before today.
Smooth. At least she didn't drop anything.]
Cassandra? Just- give me a moment, I'm a bit trapped. Small spaces, you understand.
[She couldn't have come when Jove was in complete control of herself and the situation, could she. Figures.]

Still, they haven't met in person yet, so he asks,] Jove?

If Sera were here Jove is certain there'd be no end to the jokes about being too elfy, but it's not like she could deny it. At least she doesn't have any dirt on her clothes? When she looks over at the sound of her name, she looks surprised for a moment to see Mahna. Their first meeting hadn't gone badly, but it had been hard for him, she knows that. A visit is entirely unexpected, but not at all unwelcome. She smiles at him, motions for him to come in.]
Mahna. I see you've mastered travel between different ships. It's strange, isn't it?

Sometimes he settles in the kitchen - in a random chair, in the corner on the floor, or very occasionally on nothing like it is a chair - and works on a project. The current one involves a length of pale purple light.
Whether he's very focused on something, or just walking around, Duke will usually tilt his head slightly toward anyone who approaches once they reach two yards from him. Anyone sensitive to magic can find that there's an increased concentration of magic right where Duke starts noticing people. ]

When he leaves his room he has his art supplies with him, paints and notebooks bought for him by Jove, and he spends a few hours a day working on her room with her supervision, as well as offering his services to anyone else that might want it. He enjoys the idea of decorating the entire ship with etchings and paintings, with memories of the Fade and Thedas and plants they go to, and he looks forward to it.
If he is approached he will be kind and polite, as always, welcoming anyone that might be tipping near stranger rather than friends. Anyone else will get something a little brighter, especially if he cares about them. ]

All her roaming around eventually brings her to come across Solas and she suddenly stops humming, shyly tucking her arms behind her back. She makes an effort to smile at him in greeting. When she notices the art supplies, her eyes widen a bit as realization sets in. A certain spirit boy might have mentioned him to her. ]

She enjoys his company, that's all. It's a blessing to have him and Cole on her ship, two people from home who may not remember her but have come to be as important to her as her own versions of them are. She's standing beside him with a palette loaded with the colors he needs now, watching the careful way his brush slides over the wall with what looks to her like perfect precision. It seems like he always knows exactly what he's going to point when he starts something new.]

He does return to the ship once in a while, though. Mostly to dump his winnings (which look most to be Houseplants) onto the ship. He's talking to a luscious looking ficus (which may or may not be his from home, who knows) as he sets it down on the communications console. ]
Okay, this is your new home from now on. Looks pretty sweet, doesn't it? Well, don't get too comfortable, because if I see one brown leaf, even a hint of wilting, you're going through the airlock. It'll be hasta-la-vista for you, my little friend. Are we clear?

once he has vented some energy and reassembled himself, Tek finally moves out of his temporary hideaway and makes his way home. he's finally wearing his most familiar face, holding himself tall like he should, but he's still not exactly the same creature as he was when he last set foot on board.
he's missing some things. aside from the brand new hole in his soul, he doesn't look quite as he should. he seems to be lacking a few of the subtle details in his face that normally makes him seem at least mostly warm and mammalian, and he's dressed only in the standard Atroma-brand charcoal jumpsuit. he could stand to spend some time in front of a mirror, honestly.
and he's taking a slow tour of the ship once he arrives, coldly inspecting every unfamiliar nook and cranny--practically a stranger on his own ship.]

But one of the things left behind by the previous captains was a very comfortable looking nest tucked away that reminded her a great deal of the beds she and childhood friends would make for themselves in the back of an aravel if the clan happened to be stopping for long in one place. It had become something of a custom to bring all the blankets and pillows to one aravel, make a big bed, and cuddle in in a group for warmth and companionship.
So, being that she's the captain now and no one had been around to tell her she couldn't make use of the nest on her own, she's done just that from time to time. It's quite comfortable and Tek has been gone so long she hadn't actually put thought into the fact that one day, he might return and find her exactly where she is now, curled up in the collection of pillows and blankets and sleeping soundly like she has every right to be where she is.
Oops? Welcome home, Tek.]
