[The bar Hange picked out is about typical for the planet: a little small, although big enough for the turnout Hange more or less expects, and clean albeit a little dingy and stained around the edges. At very least, all the stains have been scrubbed at thoroughly at some point in their history, and only the most stubborn and enterprising remain.

Well, yes. For example, I'm a scout. At home, you'll find stationary guard members and military police too.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the majority of people here are as human as you are... or, well, a good number of them at least.
