Ninth ♠ Video
Who: Allen Walker
Broadcast: Fleet Wide, video
Action: SS Blue Fish
When: May 21st
[As usual, the broadcast shows the medical lab of the Blue Fish, with Allen at his usual table. Though unlike last time, there's his golden golem in the background- seeming to be gesturing with his wings like he's trying to sign what Allen's saying- too bad sign language doesn't make much sense when the speaker just has wings. Allen meanwhile, seems completely oblivious to Tim's "help"]
Hello all. This is Allen Walker, one of the medics aboard the SS Blue Fish.
I just wanted to let you know that this Sunday on the SS Blue Fish, we'll be holding another blood drive for blood transfusions. For those who are unfamiliar with blood transfusions, it's a medical practise that can make sure that people don't die of blood loss by giving them spare blood.
Anyone who donates will be given cookies and drink. Donors can also get paid in their choice of money, food, or prize vouchers for those who aren't having any luck in the casino. If you are interested and haven't donated before, please fill out this form here! [And here comes a handy form]
If anyone would like to volunteer or have any questions, please let me know! Any vampiric volunteers must be able to show restraint around fresh blood and will not be allowed to sample any donations.
Thank you!
[And the feed cuts out.]
[OOC: It's that time for another blood drive! It should be noted that due to busy schedules of the Blue Fish medic muns, the actual blooddrive will be IMPLIED and there will be no mingle post this time around. Thanks!]

[She pauses, unsure, and bites her lip.]
I'm... not sure I should donate blood because of the world I'm from. But if you need help organizing everything, I can give you a hand?
video;
We'd always welcome more volunteers. Though is there something unusual about your world?
video;
[She pauses.] There's mana in my bloodstream because I'm from a world where everything needs mana to live.
[Her eyes shift to the side.]
And... I can use that mana, which also means I have some elven ancestry. Sharing my blood might give people magic when they didn't have it before, or it might not. I don't really know. Supposedly that's how humans are allowed to use magic these days.
video;
[To him it's a bit weird it hasn't yet in this place. Eh, maybe when monsters start attacking. And geez...even after hearing about "mana" for years, it's still so odd to hear that word be used when talking about magic.]
Hm...interesting. I'm not expert on mana, but I can't say I've heard of elven blood giving humans magic before.
If you're concerned, I could always take a sample and run some tests to see if it really does differentiate from other worlds' blood.
video;
[She nods.] I'm okay with being tested. I have no idea if it's true, but Tethe'alla had some pretty advanced technology.
Is there anything else I should know about if I qualify? How much blood do you take, anyway?

I would be more than happy to have another doctor helping out. Have you done this sort of work before?

[Foot in mouth]
I mean, I'm sure you won't have trouble with this then!

That is desperate, when you say it like that.
Does your ship not have a cook?

[She thinks her blood must be normal, after all. Maybe??]

video;
Oh, thanks! I'm pretty sure I'm all of those. I don't think my blood's weird or anything either.
But, um. I'll definitely go then. Especially if there's cookies!
[The important thing. Obviously.]
video;
Yes. You'd be surprised how big a draw the cookies are.
[Seems like half the donors honestly are in it for the cookies]
But thank you very much! I really appreciate the help!
video;
But I can see why. IIII don't know about the other ships, but we could definitely use cookies with the food we've got...

[ She thinks about that, grimaces a bit. ]
Although, uh, much as I'd love to contribute I'm pretty sure my genetics are different enough to make it dangerous to donate. Unless there's some kind of supergenius on board who can separate that from the blood itself?
video;
[For some odd reason. Annnd okay, he take a moment to figure out how to politely word this answer]
...No, I'm afraid it's not possible to separate your DNA from your blood without destroying the blood. And even if it were, I can't imagine that blood would be of much use.
video;
So what do the give us out here?
video;
Well...if there's a medic assigned to the ship, there's a medical bay that has plenty of testing and medical equipment. Medicine wise, it's...basic painkillers and antibiotics.
video;
Ouch. For spaceships that doesn't seem like a good loadout at all.
