[ The comm is set down on a table, facing down to give a wide angle of a young redheaded woman who is basically standing inside of a couch. Phasing! She looks to the camera, brows raised very pointedly!! And then walks forward to one of the walls leading further into the Marsiva and pushes.

Nada.

She looks back to the camera. Walks back to the couch, does a slow turn around while standing inside of it, then goes back and pushes on the wall again. After a moment, she steps back, uses both hands to point at the stubborn wall. ]

Is anyone else seeing this shit?

There was no noticeable effect on the ship's controls or life support, and the elements repaired themselves. It's very strange.

Repaired themselves like tiny robots did it, or repaired themselves like this ship is actually alive?

As if the ship is alive. I've seen no robots, maintenance or repair.

Okay, things just went from annoying to worrying.

Yes, they did. It may just be how the ships expand to add more rooms and features, but none of the engineers were told the parts for such a thing exist.

So, what, all of the ships might actually be alive and all the mechanical parts are just for show?

Lasers? Shit, where did you get those?

I don't know if the ships are alive, they've shown no signs of intelligence.

I came with certain tools including a laser cutter.

You... lucky dog. Jesus. What I wouldn't do for a laser cutter sometimes.

Actually, I have, and if they are sentient they don't answer. Neither does Atroma. They make announcements sometimes.

What would you use it for?

[ There's actually a shrug. ] Laser cutty stuff? Ha. It would definitely be better than a swiss army knife, that's for sure.

When they assign people to ships or the fleet approaches a planet or waystation, there's an announcement. They don't answer it if people try to respond, though.

[ Laser... cutty... stuff... okay. ] A swiss army knife would not cut through a wall expediently, no.

How often do we approach planets? How fast do these ships go?

My point exactly.

I don't know the speed of the fleet or distance between planets, but I've been told that we approach someplace -- waystation or planet -- approximately monthly.

Well, that's pretty insane regardless. Monthly? Do we run out of supplies that fast or what?

As far as I can tell, we never run out of supplies. The stops are just meant to make us more "entertaining."

Something new to spice up the show and make sure it doesn't get stale.

God, this really is just a drive for entertainment all the way through.

I've yet to see any signs of cameras, either, though. Or an indication of who our audience might be.

[ Oh, ugh, no, never mind. She doesn't want to think of that and visibly shudders for the idea. ]

Scratch that. Anyway, audiences range from far and wide and it's probably for the better not to try and predict them.

I've considered that as well, that the augments have some kind of recording capacity. But I'm uncertain how to test the idea.

Find the frequency would be the simplest, but that's probably going to need a lot more tech than is readily available, huh.

[ She has no trust for the idea that the tools they need will just be lying around somewhere. ]

As far as I can tell, they're not broadcasting on any known frequency. It could be an unknown one to me. The technology here is extremely advanced.
