Hey, we'll probably be leaving in a few days. So is there anything else you guys want from these moons? I can keep an eye out for it.

[Oh look, maybe he's actually going to be social for once. From the background, it looks like he's hanging out in his ship's quarters. Near him, there looks like there's a tree coming out of the hull. Ah, life with a fairy nature. Also, his hair is short]

So...I've been wondering this for awhile- but is it normal for worlds not to have monsters? Because I've noticed a pretty big lack of them everywhere we go.

Actually, I've got a list of non-meat ingredients that I've been looking for and having some trouble finding them. I'd appreciate it if you could help me out on this.

And as for the monster thing, we don't so much have monsters as we do demons and other magical beings, but demons for the most part stay in the Underworld and magical beings hide out to not be found by humans. There's a whole "don't tell the mortal magic exist or Bad Things happen" rule going on.

Hmm...we call our demonic realm Nifelheim, but that's pretty close to our world. But the magical beings...do you mean like elves and fairies? Do those exist on Earth?

[And Cole just pulls out a list made him and starts rattling off things, some of which are toxic.] ...don't worry if you can't find them, though. Chris and I have both been searching for these.

Well, we're not very creative with our names, considering the Underworld is underground and where the whitelighters live is known as Up There. [I swear to god these are the actual names.] Elves, fairies, trolls, leprechauns, dwarves, cupids, and a number more that I could name off, but then we'd be here for a while.

[WHAT THE HELL COLE] - Wait. Wasn't that last one a type of poison?

Wow. I don't wanna know how long it took to come up with names like that. [So sad demons. You'd think you'd come up with more metal names at least] ....Huh. That explains the low level of magic there.

Yeah, if you eat it. [He pauses.] We weren't planning on using it as a food. Chris and I are trying to make a potion and a spell to get home. Well, Chris is making the potion since I can't and I'm helping on the spell, despite the differences in demon and witch spells.

I think they were too busy trying to kill each other to think up more creative names. [Just look at their teleportation names. Shimmering, orbing, blinking, flaming, sparkling. CHARMED DOES NOT DO CREATIVE NAMING.] What do you mean? How does that explain it?

[That causes him to frown.] ...Pass. I know you wanna get home, but the last time I supported any effort like that- it ended very badly. So I rather not have anything to do with that.

[Like. Super badly.]

Well...I'm a mage, right? For my magic to work, I require this magical energy called mana. And I get it either from the mana in my body or by siphoning it from the surrounding environment - which is the better option if you're in a place full of mana. Less risky.

Anyway, when I spent time on Earth? There was some mana, but it was like working with a dry husk whenever I tried to siphon mana - completely different from my world.

I never really got why that was, but if magical creatures have such small numbers they feel like they gotta hide to survive...maybe that's part of it. Those guys indirectly help with regulating mana levels, so if there's not a lot of them on Earth...that'd sure have an effect.

[He shrugs, not too bothered by it.] Thought it couldn't hurt to ask. Instead could you get me mandrake root, carrot seeds, cardamom, toadflax, and juniper berries? This isn't for that, but instead a precautionary measure.

[He actually looks really confused by that.]

It's not that there's so few of us that we need to hide, but that it would cause chaos among humans if our existence was revealed to them. Trust me, I'm one of the few who remembers it happening and it wasn't pretty. We nearly lost two of the most powerful good witches that day, which would have upset the balance in a way that it wouldn't be able to recover.

[While he's saying that he's thinking about the whole mana thing.]

But maybe the way your magic works isn't compatible with the All since you're from a different world and thus don't have a piece of it inside of you, so you couldn't draw on it like how Chris and I can. Because the All is the source of magic on Earth, at least our Earth, and if you're not born with that little piece of it inside of you, then you're out of luck when it comes to magic.

[ There is a Chris shimmering into Cole's video feed, taking him by the arm and looking VERY STERN AND ANGRY. ]

What the hell are those ingredients?!

[He was about to answer Cole, when there's a sudden SHIMMERING CHRIS ON THE SCREEN. Jeeze that makes him jump- WARN A GUY]

Jeez! You guys are worst than cats!

[Gotta get you little bells]

Anyway, what about those ingredients?

[Oh hey, there's a son appearing out of nowhere and Cole sighs. Of course he knows about that, he's read the Book of Shadows.]

They're some of the ingredients of a vanquishing potion for upper-level demons, namely Belthazor.

[And he looks annoyed at the comparison to cats.]

I don't shimmer around you anymore. I learned my lesson about you two and demonic magic.

Namely him.

[ Just in case no one's caught on to his dad's demonic name. ]

Don't even think about it, Kaneis. And you! What is wrong with you?! Don't tell me you want to die again.

[It takes him a second to comprehend what's going on. But when he does? Oh, he's pissed. So so pissed]

What!? You were going to have me help you make a suicide potion?!

What the hell is wrong with you?!

[Cole cannot understand why all of you are getting up in arms about this it's a precaution.]

I don't want to die again, Chris, but I figured that it would be a good idea in case I went evil or another upper-level demon decided to find their way here. And I can't even make it myself, so I don't see what the problem is here.

It's not a suicide potion. As I said before, it's a precaution. I'm unstable on a good day and I don't really want to cause anyone any problems like I have in the past. And I've tried suicide before, but it didn't work so why would I even try now?

[ Because most precautions don't end up in suicide, Cole. ]

Maybe because you aren't invincible anymore? There are so many better ways to deal with whatever dangers there might be than leaving a ticking time bomb around! Dad, what if someone used one of those on me?!

Chris is right. And it's not a good idea. Even if this suicide potion worked, Atroma would just bring you back, asshole.

[There's no hiding the anger in his voice. He's pissed as all hell about this. Not only was this a STUPID, RECKLESS idea that even wouldn't WORK- but this guy was going to have him unwittingly help him with it without telling him a thing. Which man, he's indirectly caused enough death and sorrow to last him several lifetimes.]

And for the record? You don't rope people into helping with things that'll kill someone without telling them! If I'm gonna kill someone, it's going to be by my hand while looking them in the eye! That's it!

They wouldn't be able to use it on you because it needs your flesh and it'd be using mine and I'd only have a small enough dose made for me. Besides, I promised you I wouldn't die, didn't I? I'm still going to fulfill that promise, but if I become evil, then I would rather be taken out than do something to hurt you.

[He looks at the screen to Kaneis and he sighs. Everyone always gets angry at him. It's rule one of his life. Nothing can or will go right for him.]

If you two are so against the idea of me dying, then figure out an alternative. I'm open to anything that doesn't involve power stripping potions. I won't allow that to happen to me again.

[ Chris just stares at him, hand still on his arm in a crushingly tight grip. If he were using demon strength right now, it would probably hurt a lot. After a moment of stunned and pained silence, Chris outright scoffs. ]

I don't need to strip your powers, we could just bind them. You know, that thing that happened to the sisters? Happened to me? What the hell do you take me for? I wouldn't let you hurt anyone else, either!

[He meanwhile is glaring at Cole as he lists of his conditions. There something that smells of bullshit to him, making promises not to die but marking all these different conditions to it. Luckily, Chris speaks up before he can remark on that]

[He makes a "tut" with his tongue.] Wow, would you look at that. Not even a minute, and the kid managed to find a much better answer. It's a miracle. Almost like you should listen to someone besides yourself sometimes, or something.

You mean the thing that your mother and aunts decided that should never be used on me because they thought my life would be better if I was just a human without any chance of regaining my powers? I have no idea why I didn't think of it. Maybe it was because I was told not to ever expect it.

[Oh, he's kind of bitter now because it's always one extreme with him and also fuck the Halliwell sisters for deciding what Cole should be.]

And what's your suggestion, angel? Just let whatever happen and then maybe you can spear me with one of your wings too? Poison me and force me into extreme pain to stop my eventual switch back to evil like I should be?

[ Chris is just not prepared for the dig against his family and his grip turns even tighter because if he uncoils any of his tension right now he'd be shaking from fear and anger. ]

They aren't here right now. You know who's here? I am. Me. I have never given up on you, and I never will. No matter what they think they know about the balance of good and evil, all right?

[ He's tempted to try putting space between them, but again. He's so close to just shaking apart right now that he merely turns to look away. ]

This isn't helping anyone.

[His eyes narrow at Cole, looking at him with utter disdain]

My angelic suggestion is to get over your little pity party and listen to your son. Everyone's got bad stuff in their lives and people who tell them terrible things that's likely full of crap. None of it justifies choices like this that just hurt people for no good reason. Can't you see how much you're hurting your son?

Is that what you really want?

[There's a long moment of silence while he looks at Kaneis on the screen before he looks to Chris.]

You've got a perfectly good substitute for your Aunt Paige right here, Chris.

Tell me what you need for the binding potion and I'll see about getting them to you. Work on a spell as a backup in case of emergencies.

[And then he leans in to whisper something into Chris's ear, too quiet to pick up over the video feed, and then presses their foreheads together.]

As for what I want, Kaneis, it never comes into play. Even when I gave up everything for the woman I loved, it never mattered. Because it was always everyone else who mattered, not the demon with a soul who should have never been born.

[At that, he shimmers off. Because he's done and has been for a while.]

[ Chris kind of stands in shock for a very long moment, Cole's words ringing in his ears. Once he shakes out of it, there's a violent movement where an energy ball crashes to the wall where it harmlessly explodes and barely singes the metal there. He stands, breathing, before he eventually runs a hand down his face. ]

Sorry, I just... I don't think that broke anything. [ He tilts his head back to the camera, so drained and scared and holding up as strong as he can. ] There's a lot more to that than what it looked like.

[ I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you, Kit. ]

[He almost rolls his eyes at Cole's departure. It doesn't illicit empathy, even if he can relate to the words (and relate to them very much he can). If anything, it adds to his anger towards the man. Throwing a hissyfit because people weren't going along with his suicide plan.]

[But Chris's freak out shakes him out of his own stewing. That poor guy. His tone loses most of it's edge when he speaks to him]

It's fine. If you do break anything, it'll give Lloyd something to do.

[Which means, go on ahead and freak out. Since hey, it's not like he can offer this guy a hug without putting a hazmat suit on.]

There's always more to things. That's how life works. But it's alright to be upset by this even if you know the full story. [he hesitates] ...I know I was when my father pulled the same crap.

[ Chris fights very hard to not give in and throw more energy. His hand flexes, fingers stiff, while electricity crackles over it and he looks around as if for some kind of escape. There isn't any, not really, not in this stupid Fleet, and the realization has Chris hunch his shoulders more. ]

Don't tell me your dad's pulled a dying hat trick, too.

[ Which is a funny thing to say when Cole's only admitted to dying twice. ]
