I don't know how many of us have all been through this ship so far, but it looks as though there's still a lot of it in working order. Or it could be in working order, if we were to put forth the effort to get it that way. I think if enough of us were to work together, we might be able to see to at least turning some lights on, if not getting the thing running properly again.

The bugs are dangerous, of course, so if there are any security officers who could spare the time to come with us engineers when the time comes, I'm sure we'd all appreciate a little extra fire power. I suppose you could say this is less of a call to arms and more of a call to discussing who is willing to come along and repair a very strange alien ship. So... who's with me?

[There's a pause after that, and it could be because the audio has ended just there, until...]

And if anyone has seen a slightly grumpy bald elf, could you send him my direction?

[The very prospect of taking something apart from scrap has Hiccup super excited. He's already salvaged a little bit of scrap from the ship (shown by the metallic stuff surrounding him), but he could always use more.]

That sounds like a great idea and all, but do we-- do we know why it's abandoned? I'm a little concerned that if they come back for their stuff and see us digging into it, they'll be--

She'll get back to the points he's made, since they are good ones, things that need to be discussed fully before any real moves are made towards digging into the ship. First things are first, though.]

There are elves in space. It's not our natural habitat of course, not enough woods and flowers, but it seems that we thrive here just as well as humans do.

[Hiccup gapes. Sorry, this is the first time he's seen an elf. Elves aren't frequent visitors to Berk. Dragons, yes. Elves, no. He's embarrassed for sure, running his hand through his auburn hair and not entirely looking at the feed now.]

Yeah you know what stories are? Stories. Half of that shit people made up in taverns out of boredom and alcohol. I haven't met a type of elf that didn't live on the ground like the rest of us.

You want to respect her, how about treat her like a person? How would you like it if some guy stared at your ears and asked you not to give them the plague?

[She thinks this is the sort of thing that would give anyone a headache, but she also appreciates that Kaneis would jump to her defense this way. It's certainly not necessary, not when it's clear ignorance is the culprit, but it is touching in its own way.]

I think it's likely he's very young. [Being called a something was also particular insulting, but what can you do.] He'll either learn or Fenris will be the next person he insults. At the moment, we need more people to fix the ship more than we need to worry about any hurt feelings I may have.

I'm used to making things at home, but they usually don't involve Thor-power. [... A lengthy pause.] Electricity. [AHEM.]

This level of machinery is totally new to me. I know how it works in theory, but I haven't had any hands-on experience with repairing a ship. I've looked around, though.

I don't think it'll take me that long to learn the ropes. I'll follow orders until I'm sure of what I'm doing of course.

I'm a mage, so if you're in need of electricity I can help you there. I've never tried to power anything with them before, but I don't see why it wouldn't work if we found the right way to apply it.

Would you be comfortable working alone or would you prefer to have a guard to keep the bugs away while you work?

That... [Well, aside from the whole wow you have magic thing, that's not a bad idea.] That could be useful. It's not sustainable, but maybe we can get the generators working with a jolt. Need to get stuff hooked up first though.
