It's occurred to me that the fleet has about ten times as many firearms as it does medical professionals. It's also been pretty apparent that a lot of our cast members don't know the basics of gun safety and use. If anyone wants to learn, I'll be at the following coordinates.

Hopefully safe, though I don't know what his situation back home is like. Or hers. [Kairi is clueless as to what's happened to Suki back in Sokka's world. She's wanted to ask, but it's still too soon.]

I guess so. Though I thought it was just kind of funny. But that might be why I'm not a captain. [She laughs sheepishly as she bends down to get her shoes on.]

[Fair enough. Might be a case of frying pan to fire, though in most cases Nat's inclined to think a familiar fire is more reassuring than a strange frying pan. At least you know your risks, there.]

Sense of humor's important, in an authority figure. I've known captains who could laugh at that sort of thing.

Guess I'm a little biased, though. My hair's going to look fantastic for at least the next six months.

Yeah, I guess that's a good point. I think it might be a matter of balance: humor when the situation is right, but also being serious when called for. I've never really lead so I don't know how much I'd trust myself.

[She snickers.]

Yours and mine both. And a lot of other people in the fleet. It's even brightened mine a little, which is nice. It's gotten a bit darker in the past year.

Balance is important. Practicality. Never know how you'll do as a leader until you're in a place to lead, though. Some of the best I've known didn't think they were suited for it. Takes a certain kind of compassion.

[She herself isn't really a team player, let alone a leader. Not the right sort of person for it, at all.]

Sometimes that happens as you get older. You might enjoy the brunette life, never know.
