Who: Nightingale and you!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva hospitality deck
When: Now!

[action]

[Nightingale's awakening is much lower-key than most, sitting up in the bed and realizing quickly that she is not where she should be. The best way to cope, of course, is looking around, taking in her surroundings, and just talking to herself.]

Okay... So, this must be a game. Don't think I recognize any space Echoes, though... Whatever, I should figure out the win conditions, first. And hope it's not another 'everyone dies' game.

[she lifts a hand, and a strong wind whips through the area, throwing bedsheets and pillows around.]

Okay, magic's still on, that's... usually a good sign.

[She doesn't seem to have noticed the mess she made. Or maybe she doesn't care. Either way.]

[Having immediately fallen into the assumption that this is a game, Nightingale isn't too bothered by the idea of being able to operate technology she hasn't seen before- it's not like it's the first time, after all. She takes a deep breath, and starts talking to the camera. Noticeably, she still hasn't cleaned up her prior mess.]

This is Nightingale, from Takshaka. I don't know what's going on, but this game seems a bit different. Can you check in with which teams are here? And Roc, Gull, Hawk, Magpie, Togetic, Sparrow, any of you around?

And which Echo is this, while I'm at it? I don't recognize any with a space theme going on unless it's the damn Bone Witch again. If I see that dress or that whale again, I'm going to find a way to leave in the middle.

I have a career! ...Sort of... Well, it was mostly still at the start, and sometimes we end up doing things like this, but...

[Well, you've successfully depressed her, good job.]
averagestar: (from far far away)

...My career? I don't know how interesting that would be...

I can try to explain some things around here though, yes.

Ignoring the things from the implant? Well, let's see... Someone that arrive at about the same time as me start doing something to the lights outside the medical room, someone made a post on the network about how magic works where they're from, and... someone was having cabin fever?

...No wait, you said things I just knew... That's a pretty philosophical question, isn't it? But let's see...

[She looks off to the side, thinking about this a bit...]

...That I love idols? That I need to do my best, even if I'm somewhere weird and can't know why I'm here?

Ah, I see. Then, let's see... That this was a reality show, that it seems to be run by something called "Atroma", some knowledge about how to do my job... Oh, I'm a communications officer, which means I'm supposed to encrypt and decrypt messages, as less as operate the radar, scanning objects, and beaming people on and off the ship if needed.

I don't really know how it's decided. From what I understand though, there are... something like eight or nine kinds of implants? The first five are things needed to run the ship, while the others are more based on things to help the crew? And not all the ships have all the roles filled out?

I know my ship has all the ones needed to run the ship, but doesn't have any of the ones based around helping the crew out.

The ones needed to run the ship are, let's see... The pilot, who pilots the ship, security, who protect the ship and use the weapons on it, engineering who keep it maintained, I already told you what communications did, and the last job is basically being a doctor. They get their own little lab and everything.

I think there was something about people not having one of those five being able to request one of them actually. I think it said they can't keep the stuff they got from their original one, or switch back to the original one later on.... It was kind of tucked in with all the other information and didn't really apply to me, so I tried to focus on other things, like getting used to my job.

They actually have a form you can fill out, where you can pick from a bunch of different kinds of upgrades you can add! It's really amazing the kind of stuff they can do, really.

I can't imagine actually letting them put the upgrades through, though.

Ah, I forgot to introduce myself, didn't I? Sorry about that... I'm Uzuki Shimamura, Communications officer of the Golden. It's nice to meet you!

[And she even has a perfect business bow for you, Nightingale.]

[personal profile] averagestar 2015-06-24 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
Well, the ship will probably come soon enough. They seem to be assigned weekly, so it's really just a matter of waiting. Still, I'm sure things will work out! From what I've seen, everyone around here's a good person, after all!

[The naivete, can you feel it?]
averagestar: (I want you to hear my grand dreams)

[personal profile] averagestar 2015-06-24 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't being an optimist a good thing? I know I'm not a strategist or anything, but... Don't we only have each other to count on while we're here? Isn't it better to trust everyone? As long as we all do our best, there won't be any problems!
averagestar: (I promise to shine brighter than now!)

[personal profile] averagestar 2015-06-24 09:20 am (UTC)(link)
It mostly depends on the type, really. A lot of them like splitting people into teams, though. Which is probably why we're running multiple ships instead of everyone working on a single one. I think sorting people into groups makes it easier for people to support them, too?
averagestar: (I promise to shine brighter than now!)

[personal profile] averagestar 2015-06-24 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Rather than saying "pit against each other"... Isn't it more like a friendly rivalry? I mean, it seems like what we're competing over are "ratings", so it's not like it's something that can really be gained by fighting each other normally anyways, and we do kind of need to work together to get things done, since one ship really can't handle this kind of stuff alone.

Apparently not having to be here anymore? The rules we've been shown seem really weird for a reality show, come to think of it...

[I never actually thought of questioning whether they would lie about that or not because... What would be the point?]
