Who: Nightingale and you!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva hospitality deck
When: Now!
[action]
[Nightingale's awakening is much lower-key than most, sitting up in the bed and realizing quickly that she is not where she should be. The best way to cope, of course, is looking around, taking in her surroundings, and just talking to herself.]
Okay... So, this must be a game. Don't think I recognize any space Echoes, though... Whatever, I should figure out the win conditions, first. And hope it's not another 'everyone dies' game.
[she lifts a hand, and a strong wind whips through the area, throwing bedsheets and pillows around.]
Okay, magic's still on, that's... usually a good sign.
[She doesn't seem to have noticed the mess she made. Or maybe she doesn't care. Either way.]
[Having immediately fallen into the assumption that this is a game, Nightingale isn't too bothered by the idea of being able to operate technology she hasn't seen before- it's not like it's the first time, after all. She takes a deep breath, and starts talking to the camera. Noticeably, she still hasn't cleaned up her prior mess.]
This is Nightingale, from Takshaka. I don't know what's going on, but this game seems a bit different. Can you check in with which teams are here? And Roc, Gull, Hawk, Magpie, Togetic, Sparrow, any of you around?
And which Echo is this, while I'm at it? I don't recognize any with a space theme going on unless it's the damn Bone Witch again. If I see that dress or that whale again, I'm going to find a way to leave in the middle.

But... If you know trolls where you're from, but you still think they're aliens... Are you from the same place as Roxy?
no subject
You know Roxy? [??????] She's, uh. My mom. So, yeah, we're from the same place. Kind of.
Where'd you meet her.
no subject
[She puts a hand to her face and sighs.]
Shit, she did mention something about that, didn't she...
no subject
[BUT TEEN MOM. Davesprite is just embarrassingly distracted by mention of anything from his reality after getting cut off from his canonmates for so long, sorry...]
So what's up with her. Is she ok. I haven't seen her in months.
no subject
But... I don't get it. If you're from the same world as her or Wren, you shouldn't be alive- Everyone else is supposed to have been annihilated.
no subject
You realize you're gonna have to give me more details on the annihilation thing before I decide whether I should be freaked out or just wave it off as part of the fickle bullshit that fucked up my life in the first place, right.

[She takes a deep breath to steady herself, then stops.]
... Wait a second. I recognize the way you talk- Aren't you that weird "sick fires" kid Wren tried to be an asshole at?
no subject
[Shit. It's been long enough—four years—that he doesn't remember. Which troll talked about sick fires? Was there one? He wants to say yes, but, fuck, what if that only happened to Dave?]
Maybe. I definitely had a line of inept trolls just waiting to get their asses handed to them for a while. But I don't think I ever met one named Wren. Or at least I never got his name, just his chumhandle.

I don't think I like the idea of talking about this sort of thing on a public network, while apparently on TV on top of that. There a way we can discuss this privately?
no subject
[Said in a way that indicates it's up to her whether she still wants to talk about it.]

I guess, do your encrypting thing and we can continue.
and it's encryptions all the way down;
[He says this even as he obliges the private channel request. Being a communications officer has its perks.]
Anyway, there you go. This shit has been professionally scrambled by yours truly.
Re: and it's encryptions all the way down;
Thanks. What name should I be calling you, anyway?
no subject
[Said with a little dry humor.]
no subject
[Sorry, humor is a bit lost on her.]
I met Roxy and Wren both at the place I was at until now- A castle in an endless void. It was called "Kyriakos", but I was never sure.if that was the name of the castle or the whole plane.
We were told there that our worlds had been destroyed. Totally annihilated and unmade, ourselves being the only exception, and even we got out badly, with our souls shattered. No memories or abilities left to us, we had to compete in "games" to earn shards of ourselves back. We should have been the only survivors.
[Her expression makes it obvious how little she cares for the games.]
That sound like what you were thinking of?

Where I was, we got pulled in by some so-called gods, 'cause their world was dying and it affected the rest of the collective multiverse. There was some metaphysical tree that supported all that shit and it was sick, so they linked their souls to ours in a last ditch effort to save it. With the caveat of "hey, we're douchebags and we know we're douchebags, but we're trying to be a little less douchey when we ask you to fuckin' help us. And 'cause if we fail, the whole multiverse will collapse into a pile of fire and ash."
Which. [He sighs a little.] Sounds kinda like what you're talking about actually. I mean it happened; I know it did. One guy I knew, Ryan, his whole fucking universe just. Ended. He saw it before he was snatched back.
But we fixed it. There was this stupid fuckin' battle and some tripped out magic tricks. The MIA worlds got restored as far as I know.
[He tapers off.]
So, I don't know. Maybe we fixed that for you guys, too. It was chill when I left.

... The stories do match up well, except on one point. What was killing their world?
