[It's been nearly a week since the fleet's said their goodbyes to the planet full of skull face folks, and another Shuffle has come and gone. Despite what was mentioned on the last week's Shuffle about cannibalism, it doesn't seem like any crews has resorted to that, so maybe some of you have begun to relax.]

[Or maybe not. In fact, maybe you should do a crew headcount just in case1.]

[By now, some of you who handled any red stones from the planet natives may be feeling under the weather or even downright shitty. But hey! What's that to stop you from visiting the way-stations? These way-stations may be in the same crappy condition as the last way-stations - but at least they're people on these ones! Really...shady looking people! But that's not about to stop you from making friends right2?]

[Essentially, this is a game wide mingle post for this week's shuffle, November's way-stations anyone getting ill, or anything else you want to do but too lazy to make a post about! Please feel free to tag in and tag around! Just make sure to put your characters' location and communication methods (action/network) in the header and/or in the prompts!]

[ The captain of the unfortunate ship Bishop is a bit under the weather lately, but that isn't stopping him from sounding...well, almost as cheery as ever, over the network. ]

So~ it seems like a loooot of people aren't feeling well lately! If anyone wants, I'll gladly try to help out~

[ What he is not saying is that he plans to try and find a way via the art of curses. Tread wisely. Or...you know, be a little suspicious and ask first. ]


[ To those folks on the SS Bishop, your captain is still as annoying and bizarre as ever. Not even sickness will stop him from that. ]

[ Geez, way to suspect the guy who talks about using curses for things. ]

Hmm...I think I'm a bit out of practice~ Why, do you want me to use one for you?

Huuuuh? There's someone else who can do that too?

I don't believe so.

Which leaves you as the prime suspect.

[ The ship is a little strange, Jill's decided. Admittedly the company isn't awful, but she does tend to dodge companionship when possible to either spend her time alone staring out windows into the vast nothingness beyond or texting someone with the slightest hint of a smile to her face.

When she approaches, it's with great care, a stern look on her face. ]

As captain, you should be resting. Isn't there any protocol for quarantine, sir?

[ Just a little? Well, it's not like Henry would be offended to hear it. Growing up the way he did wasn't exactly likely to create a well-adjusted teenager.

He doesn't exactly frown at her concern-- even when he's serious, he's still smiling somewhat, his voice is still as cheery as ever. He'd offer her assistance in the same way that he'd offer his life, far too casual for a leader. ]

It's not as fun to rest, though~

[ Looking up from the strange and vaguely threatening-looking magic circle he'd been idly drawing on one of the consoles in chalk. ]

Besides, if I'm the captain, don't I have to make sure everyone else is okay?

[torsion]

[ Honestly, this is a little much for her. Although she's seen some strange things, magic is just some branch of science to hers. Fake, full of excuses to beget violence or to cover up something or other. ]

If you're ill, you can't protect anyone. Furthermore, we don't even know if this is contagious. You very well might be spreading it to me as we speak.

[ But she keeps something of a distance from him, mouth covered by her sleeve on occasion. ]

[carreau]

[ Hey, don't knock it till you try it. Really, he'd let her try it. In the meantime, he could always test it out if she needs an example. ]

Ahaha, I've been through a loooot worse. I can still protect you.

[ Flaps a hand at her, managing to seem both cheerfully dismissive and exhausted at the same time. And then an instant later, worried about contagion, covers his face with his sleeve. A bit over-the-top, like he's never learned the moderation that comes with growing up. ]

If you get it from me, I can just try to curse it out of you~ It didn't work for me, buuuut maybe it will for you.

[torsion]

[ She'll pass on being protected by a snotface wheezin' all up in her business. Thoughtful, but no thank you. ]

I think that I'll have to decline, however kind an offer that may be. [ Maybe when he's feeling better she might ask about the curse thing, but for now she's a little wary of it. ] In the meantime, is there anything I can do to make your work easier?

[ J-joke's on you, he's not that gross right now. ]

I don't think so~ Actually, I was going to ask if there's anything you need me to do, ahaha!

[torsion]

No, nothing I can think of. Things all seem to mostly run itself even though we all have... very specifically designated skill sets. A little strange if you ask me.

[ But she's not sure she's comfortable theorizing with someone she hardly knows. Only because there feels to be something... strange about this guy and she's not entirely sure if he'd feed her false information. ]

[ Slumping forward to rest his head in his arms, so his voice is slightly muffled-- ]

I don't mind that much~ Even if I know how to do some things, I don't have any captain knowledge, so it's fine...

[torsion]

[ Somehow, the sound of his voice coming strained like that is more comforting than not. That friendly little upturn still there. For some reason it is unnerving to her in a way that she cannot quite place. It's pointless to dwell on, however. ]

I don't think it would matter regardless. We have pilots on ships that move themselves, after all. It's like playing house. [ Although there is some recognition in her eyes about the captain knowledge. It bothers her, some. ] There are still things that are obvious, no matter the skill level or knowledge. Such as not endangering others and working together for a common goal.

[carreau]

[ Even like this, he's not much for sitting still, so it's not long before he's sitting back up, restless. ]

I'm better at having to do something.

But I know how to do all of that~ I used to be a soldier, after all~

[torsion]

Then without experience as a captain, it doesn't really matter. Experience is a thing you get along the way and captain is just a title.

Mm, I wouldn't have made a good captain, though~ Too selfish for that...
