[It's been nearly a week since the fleet's said their goodbyes to the planet full of skull face folks, and another Shuffle has come and gone. Despite what was mentioned on the last week's Shuffle about cannibalism, it doesn't seem like any crews has resorted to that, so maybe some of you have begun to relax.]

[Or maybe not. In fact, maybe you should do a crew headcount just in case1.]

[By now, some of you who handled any red stones from the planet natives may be feeling under the weather or even downright shitty. But hey! What's that to stop you from visiting the way-stations? These way-stations may be in the same crappy condition as the last way-stations - but at least they're people on these ones! Really...shady looking people! But that's not about to stop you from making friends right2?]

[Essentially, this is a game wide mingle post for this week's shuffle, November's way-stations anyone getting ill, or anything else you want to do but too lazy to make a post about! Please feel free to tag in and tag around! Just make sure to put your characters' location and communication methods (action/network) in the header and/or in the prompts!]

[As tempting as it was to hide on his ship for the rest of forever due to one of the new arrivals, Kaneis knew that really wasn't an option. There was only so long he could be on the Wonderduck before he felt cabin fever kicking in. Besides, maybe if he didn't hang around on the Way-station too long, it should be fine, right?]

[He can be found, as usual, not really doing any mingling with others. He's standing against a wall, eying people from the fleet and the other people on the station alike. Maybe he's trying to go for looking intimidating, though it only has so much of an effect when he's munching on cheerful looking snack cakes, sniffling his nose and-]

[- Sneezing intermediately. He looks annoyed after every time he sneezes, as if it's some personal grievance against him that he caught a cold. Or you know, he's just pissed that he's looking sick and gross. Whatever.]

[ The captain of the unfortunate ship Bishop is a bit under the weather lately, but that isn't stopping him from sounding...well, almost as cheery as ever, over the network. ]

So~ it seems like a loooot of people aren't feeling well lately! If anyone wants, I'll gladly try to help out~

[ What he is not saying is that he plans to try and find a way via the art of curses. Tread wisely. Or...you know, be a little suspicious and ask first. ]


[ To those folks on the SS Bishop, your captain is still as annoying and bizarre as ever. Not even sickness will stop him from that. ]

[Crowley does not get sick. He's not a biological entity, not really, and getting sick is for those sorts who are biological entities. Or at least, biological entities who heal from pretty much anything thrown at them.

But now, he's sick. He's curled up in his bed, coiled almost, his breathing rattled at best. He remains under the blankets, trying to get warm, letting out a low groan.]

What the bollocks is going on now? Did someone let something diseased run around in our vents?

[ Hey people! If you are out and about on a nearby way station, you might be stumbling into a CRIME SCENE. Or, you would if there was anything resembling a force of law here.

Basically what I'm saying is that there's a dead guy. Not anyone you know, but one of the rough alien folks from around these parts. Cause of death was probably being stabbed a bunch of times, judging by the multiple stab wounds and also the knife that's still sticking out of his chest.


Totally unrelated, but the Pathstone's hot water quota is probably doing great after someone ran the shower for like two hours. And also one of the crew members is more difficult than usual to get a hold of or even find. So unless you're a...well, captain of Pathstone, since that's all we got now, or you've decided to sneak on board or break in or invite yourself in or even if you got really drunk and accidentally wandered onto the wrong ship? It is a mystery.

But like I said, totally unrelated. ]

[ had circumstances not played out how they had, it was possible that Lloyd wouldn't have even known that Kaneis was here. none of his friends had contacted him when he first made that transmission, and even after he had the information on the communicators functions drilled into his mind, he couldn't find any of their names anywhere on the device, nor did he see them anywhere on the ship.

besides, it was likely that he didn't even know how to spell half of his teammates' names, though he could probably recognize them. probably.

it was actually after he departed from the massive Marsiva and and made his way to his new ship (the SS Tourist, he reminded himself) that he heard it: a sneeze that was pretty far off but clearly recognizable. ...not that he made a habit of memorizing just how exactly his friends sneezed. he searched in earnest, his sights eventually landing on a familiar mop of red hair in the distance, propped up against a nearby wall. ]

Zelos! [ he breaks into a run, approaching him with an excited smile. he can worry about why Zelos didn't bother to contact him when he'd just arrived later-- finally, a familiar face! ]

[....Yeah. Kaneis really needs to stop forgetting that his luck is absolute shit when it comes to things like this.]

[He really wasn't paying attention to his surrounding as much as he made it look like it was (it's hard when you're all stuffy okay!), so he had just been munching on the zebra cake, paying no mind-]

[Until he hears that voice. Saying that name- very quickly followed by the sight of that guy running at him with a smile]

[Which, maybe he'd have a different reaction if his mouth wasn't full of zebra cake. Like running, or staring like a deer in the headlights, or jumping. Buuuut instead he just gets so surprised that he starts choking on his food and going into a little coughing fit.]

[ oh. well. that wasn't good. maybe he should have taken a more subtle approach when calling out to Zelos, though now that he thought about it, there really wasn't a more subtle approach. well, whatever: what's done is done and Lloyd sure did accidentally make him choke on... something. it looked like a cake. ]

Ack-- hold on!

[ he's quick to move to "Zelos's" side, slapping his back to help him clear out the food. this would probably be easier if he had some water on him, but whatever. ]

You okay? [ he'll keep at it until he calms down or shoves him away-- whichever comes first. ]

[Luckily, it's not a severe enough choking case to require anything like a Heimlich. So some coughing and the slapping on his back, will be enough to help him cough it up. Gross. He at least tries to aim for a pot of one of the fake trees near him.]

[Ugh...what a terrible way to start this mess off. There's a few more coughs and he wipes his mouth with his sleeve before talking]

- Just fine. You can stop with the slapping now.

[ whew! looks like he managed to cough up the weird cake without much trouble. Lloyd stops at his request and steps back, allowing Zelos to straighten and recover. he's practically bouncing on the balls of his feet, not at all noticing that Zelos is probably annoyed at something.

Jeez Zelos, that was kind of a lame way to say "hi". [ said all in good humor, of course. and because he can't help but ask: ]

How come you didn't say anything before? Are any of the others here?

[you know... the specifics of the last time he'd felt like this (and that hadn't been self-inflicted) had almost slipped his mind.

until he hears this guy's chipper voice.]

[he's sick. he's angry. and now he's captain.

after returning from a little jaunt on a way-station to try and locate something that actually resembles food (and failing), he's heading right for the cot.

his cot, which he has full legal rights to now.

and whether Crowley likes it or not, Tek's intending on marching right over, lifting up the end of it, and dragging it down the hall toward his office room. it turns out he's stronger than human, despite feeling horrible. isn't that great.]

he'll just casually take this back to his ship, because that's not a weird thing to do at all.

of course, it couldn't have anything to do with the fact that he finds it strange to leave a weapon sticking out of a body like that, especially with how experienced and greedy their new friends on the waystations seem to be. and it also has nothing to do with the fact that the body would have an interesting (if vague) story to tell if he took a read of its last moments. and it definitely couldn't have anything do with the fact that one of his crewmates with a known history of spontaneous violence is acting strangely.

so, he's just going to be innocently playing with this knife at the kitchen table--cutting pieces from a big hunk of chicken-flavored protein and poking them into his mouth. just in case someone notices.]

[Lloyd sound so...happy to see him. Hell, the guy was near bouncing from cheer. Kaneis really wasn't sure to make of anyone who was that happy to see him as a general rule. With Lloyd? It feels about a dozen times worse. He can't help but even stare a little.]

[He must be a Lloyd from another timeline. That's the only explanation. He's from that timeline that belonged to the other Zelos. That's who he's so happy to see.]

[...Right. Those snack cakes that he did manage to eat are now feeling like sharp rocks in his stomach. He wishes he knew a way to stop this conversation, because he just knows it won't end well]

I haven't seen anyone else, no. [Yeah. He may be trying to evade that first question.] You're the first.

[ Geez, way to suspect the guy who talks about using curses for things. ]

[ She's only left the sickbay to deal with the fact that she's too hungry to fall asleep. And of course, on this ship, there's always the risk of running into someone, given the fact that no one seems to have anything remotely resembling a proper sleeping schedule.

It takes a few seconds for her to realize what he's holding. And it only takes that long since, as her appearance might suggest, she is still kind of a mess. ]

Where did you get that.

[ That might have sounded more threatening if she'd had the chance to hit puberty. ]

[eating a bit of 'chicken' off the blade, he sits back and begins idly spinning the thing between the fingers of one hand]
