SHUFFLE/WAY-STATION/ILLNESS/WHATEVER MINGLE POST
Who: You! Me! Him! Her! Them! Everyone!
Broadcast: If you want!
Action: On your respective ships, or the Waystations!
When: After the shuffle over the next couple days! Whenever man!
[It's been nearly a week since the fleet's said their goodbyes to the planet full of skull face folks, and another Shuffle has come and gone. Despite what was mentioned on the last week's Shuffle about cannibalism, it doesn't seem like any crews has resorted to that, so maybe some of you have begun to relax.]
[Or maybe not. In fact, maybe you should do a crew headcount just in case1.]
[By now, some of you who handled any red stones from the planet natives may be feeling under the weather or even downright shitty. But hey! What's that to stop you from visiting the way-stations? These way-stations may be in the same crappy condition as the last way-stations - but at least they're people on these ones! Really...shady looking people! But that's not about to stop you from making friends right2?]
[Essentially, this is a game wide mingle post for this week's shuffle, November's way-stations anyone getting ill, or anything else you want to do but too lazy to make a post about! Please feel free to tag in and tag around! Just make sure to put your characters' location and communication methods (action/network) in the header and/or in the prompts!]
1. - This recommendation goes double for the SS Blue Fish.
2. - Warning: Attempts to make friends with extremely shady characters on the Way-Stations may result in heartwarming musical numbers, or much, much more likely - being kidnapped. Please use your own discretion.

I'll be fine. Just a little bruised.
[ such a non-answer, and kind of false. riku's easy to bruise, and his wrist aches something fierce. he rubs it, not making eye contact.
was he actually worried? ... no, no way. robin would fall back into his regular teasing soon enough. ]
What about you?
no subject
Yeah, I'm fine. Let me heal your wrist up.
no subject
riku stares at him before hiding his wrist, like a child. ]
Wh-what? No. It's fine.
[ well, it's not--it used to be broken and it set wrong because he never went to a doctor or told anyone. being handled so roughly just makes it hurt, even if it's not broken anymore. ]

no subject
even if robin broke his hand like he just did that man's bones, riku can handle a one-on-one fight. four-against-one was unfair and he couldn't handle that, especially unprepared and as weak as he is. ]
... fine.
no subject
You'll be all right.
[he reaches for him and gently takes his wrist. there's a little shiver of energy where Robin touches him, but it's short--maybe it didn't even happen. from there, he seems pretty focused, looking down for something that can't be seen on the surface by a normal person.
the hurt part starts to feel like... warm? and cold, too. a little bit like when your foot falls asleep and all the blood starts rushing back into it. the feeling moves with him as he shifts his fingers. it's kind of creepy, honestly.]
You know, you remind me of an old friend of mine. Much smaller, though. And more polite.
no subject
his eyes go from the floor back to robin when he feels that tremor of energy, his breath suddenly audibly short. what's that temperature change? in robin's grasp, riku's arm gives a little twitch, like he'll pull away suddenly.
he stays, but his gaze goes back to the ground. it's weird--he closes his eyes tightly, to focus on something else. he doesn't know what this feeling is supposed to mean--if it precludes bad things or good things. he's been falsely calmed before. ]
People say that a lot. [ he murmurs, remembering how joshua said that riku reminded him of a friend. ] I'm plenty polite, when it counts.
no subject
[there it goes... he finds the problem. he'd wondered why it bothered him more than his arm. something in here isn't right. the feeling at his wrist starts to grow a little warmer, but nothing drastic.]
He was, ah... Seven feet tall, ex-military? And blind, but there's no real similarity there.
[...that he knows of. oh, hey. something in Riku's wrist kind of goes clunk? it's very soft. like, oh, when a bone slides back into a joint. or when a couple of bones reset back to the way they should be. the warmth spreads up into his palm, following the nerves.]
no subject
when the temperature starts to increase, riku focuses on his wrist, eyes flicking to robin once or twice. ]
And how are we simil--
[ bones popping back into place have him tensing, before he stares at robin with startled eyes. ]
Wh--what're you doing?
no subject
[just a little bit more... and... there. he lets the kid's blood settle back down before he can get too jumpy, and the warm feeling disappears. soon it doesn't really feel like anything, just a normal wrist. Robin finally lets it go.]
There. Flex your wrist for me, would you?
no subject
[ but the warmth disappears and robin lets go, and riku pulls his wrist back. he's silent when he takes his armsock off. well, robin was fixing the bone--he's quite sure there's no fixing that ghastly scar across his wrist, honestly.
he peers at robin for a moment before carefully flexing it--surprise crosses his face, breathing in sharply. it's been months since he was able to move it at all... ]
no subject
You're similar, I think, in that you both have a big heart.
[he reaches past his arms to poke him lightly in the chest--something that'll probably give said "big heart" a heart attack.]
I think this is where a normal person would tell you that you deserve better, or something.
no subject
You don't know me well enough to tell me what I do or don't deserve, captain. [ it's then when he lets go, eyes drifting down and away. he uses captain as both a fond nickname and to put distance between both of them--robin is higher, riku is lower. ]
Thanks, for healing me, and throwing those thugs off. ... and for the compliment, I think.
no subject
You're welcome. Couldn't let my security officer get kidnapped and sold into slavery or anything.
no subject
Uh, yeah. That'd probably be a bad move.
I'll see you on the ship.
no subject
[he seems content with that! he'll go... and see you later.]
