[It's been nearly a week since the fleet's said their goodbyes to the planet full of skull face folks, and another Shuffle has come and gone. Despite what was mentioned on the last week's Shuffle about cannibalism, it doesn't seem like any crews has resorted to that, so maybe some of you have begun to relax.]

[Or maybe not. In fact, maybe you should do a crew headcount just in case1.]

[By now, some of you who handled any red stones from the planet natives may be feeling under the weather or even downright shitty. But hey! What's that to stop you from visiting the way-stations? These way-stations may be in the same crappy condition as the last way-stations - but at least they're people on these ones! Really...shady looking people! But that's not about to stop you from making friends right2?]

[Essentially, this is a game wide mingle post for this week's shuffle, November's way-stations anyone getting ill, or anything else you want to do but too lazy to make a post about! Please feel free to tag in and tag around! Just make sure to put your characters' location and communication methods (action/network) in the header and/or in the prompts!]

[ he rubs the back of his neck. ]

How d'you think he'd react?

[wilder]

[He moves to put a hand on his hip]

I dunno...[Probably violently. Sheena and Seles sure reacted that way, maybe he has a type]

How would you react to getting news like that?

[ riku's demeanor changes; not into violence, but his shoulders hunch and pain crosses his face. if he knew that he killed sora...?

he shakes his head. he'd never forgive himself. ]

Uh, don't... I don't think it'd be a good idea.

[wilder]

[He watches Riku's reaction, his heart sinking some. He knows it won't be that easy.]

...Yeah. I thought not.

[limitstorm]

Well, you wouldn't react well if you heard it either, would you?

[ he breathes in. ] It's something no one would want to hear, I think... that they hurt someone they care about. [ haltingly; ] But... I think to be friends again, you're gonna have to be honest. Maybe you just have to be honest at the right time.

[wilder]

[He snorts, which comes out sounding more like a big sniff] I don't know, at this point it might come as a relief to hear some version of me screwed up more than I did.

[Since seriously, if he has to hear one more time about how great a Zelos that wasn't him at all was one more time...] ...But I get your point.

[He gives a little sigh]

So...wait for the right time to tell him. Too bad I doubt that time would be over dinner.

[...Then again maybe the guy would take it better if he was full of steak..]

[ he smiles a little, lightly. ] You know him best, right? Out of both of us, anyway. Look... I've got your back. So if you need some help...

Ah- right.

[That whole, offering help thing. He still isn't sure how to handle it, even if part of him is touched by it. He's just so used to doing everything himself]

- Thanks. Really. I'll...think on it. When to do it, anyway.

[He clears his throat, trying to push back the feelings in his heart from his face]

Ha...this is probably the time to mention that I sorta...changed my name right? [SO THEY MIGHT NOT HAVE AS MUCH TIME AS THEY HOPE THEY DO TO FIGURE THIS OUT.]

[limitstorm]

What? I died! It seemed like the time for a fresh start - I had to mark it somehow!

It was that or cut my hair- and I really like my hair!

[limitstorm]

Oh please, don't even start trying to deny it's nice hair! I hate myself, but even I know I got some great locks!

[And he groans a little]

[limitstorm]

[ ??? ]

I guess it's nice? [ um. yes. ] I've never seen hair that long. It's like you're Rapunzel.

[ arms crossed. ] I'll probably hear it from him if I don't hear it from you, won't I? I'd rather hear it from you.

[wilder]

I have no idea who Rapunzel is, but I'll just take it as a compliment. Thank you for noticing.

[Yes. That's right. And man, he gives an eyeroll]

Fine. [This is so stupid; he hates giving his original name] It's Zelos Wilder.

[limitstorm]

[ a moment, and before riku can stop himself-- ]

That's a weird name... [ uh wait! ] But--kind of cool.

[wilder]

Yeah, and I'm sure Riku's a perfectly normal name all the kids get named.

[Seriously bro]

Whatever, I don't care. It's not a name I use anymore.

[limitstorm]

[ a shrug. ] Apparently, Riku's a girl's name. I got called Princess Riku a lot.

So, you want me to still call you Kaneis.

[..There's some twitching going on in his face, as he tries to hold back some jokes] ....You know, for helping me out and listening? I'm gonna pass on the cracks, just this once.

[BUT NO PROMISES NEXT TIME YOUR HIGHNESS]

[But that'll pass and he'll rub the back of his neck again]

But, ah... yeah. If that's alright.

I mean, even if it started off as a lie and it's really not that great a name, I've...kinda gotten attached to it. And it's not like I can go back to being who I was before... [And frankly, at this point? He's not sure he even wants to.]

[limitstorm]

No way, Zelos is much cooler.

[ riku crosses his arms.

... the facetious moment's gone, and he smiles at him with a helpless shrug of his shoulders. ]

It's your name, I'm not gonna call you something different. Kaneis it is. Besides, [ his eyes wander away. ] ... sometimes lies become truth after a while.

[wilder]

[He makes a "tch" sound with his tongue at that, shaking his head a little. Don't be such a brat Riku]

[Sometimes lies become the truth...maybe that had weight to it. How long had it taken him where he no longer had to school himself to react to that name? And when was it that he didn't even think twice when he introduced himself as Kaneis? When he started doing so here, he hadn't even thought of it as an attempt to hide who he really was. It had simply been his name.]

[And it's not like the bonds he's built as Kaneis were anymore lies than the bonds he built as Zelos. If anything, in a way, they had been more sincere than anything he had had as Zelos Wilder.]

Heh...maybe you got a point. [He offers just the slightest of smiles to Riku] Thanks Riku.
