[the only thing that could maybe be construed as an answer is the way he glances toward the door. it's on his blind side, so it requires him to turn his head. and he doesn't point to himself as an answer, so she's welcome to read into it if she wants.]

[he squints a little, almost suspicious. he doesn't know if she actually understands, but... whatever.

[Fascinating. Scouts do some signing to each other, but it's hard to pass on lots of detailed messages with the speed their battles usually go at; a letter code wouldn't be so useful in general... except maybe, this is something she could take home for Eren.

She spells his name right back. She flubs the change between C and O a little because they're so similar, but I and L come out nice and clear.]

[he corrects her--more because he doesn't want to be called something weird than anything else--and the distinction between the two is clear when he takes his time with it]

[She rattles off his own name back at him repeatedly. C-O-I-L C-O-I-L C-O-I-L - and then breaks off, laughing.]

[ah... this time, aside from the first one, the letters are cryptic as hell and make very little sense when compared to the shapes of the written letters. and again, he almost pointedly speeds right through them]

[The distinction between A and S are the ones that come out muddled this time; they're so similar. In spite of how Coil races along she takes her time spelling out the symbols, clearly not bothered.]
